Crocheting with multiple strands of yarn

Crocheting with multiple strands of yarn can present a few challenges.
For one, do not expect to crochet as fast as you might usually.
Another issue, is that a thin strand of yarn can get dropped, and you may not discover that dropped loop until the next row.
Keeping your strands untangled is also a fun trick, lol!
If you are not careful, you will soon have yarn barf.
I hope that you find this video uselull and entertaining!
Blessings!
Your friend, Christy aka YARNBARF

Thank you, my lovely barf, I’m glad that you showed me that others have the same challenges that I have when crocheting with multiple strands.

Oh my...lol... no I didn't finish it one day, lol. I did use one cake but I think it took me 3 days or a few days to make but I did also have to work and I did a few rows on other projects too. I can't completely remember but it was definitely more than a day ;). Thanks so much for the shout out again and I am glad you were able to catch my live last night. I know it was pretty late at night my insomnia and back pain keeps me up at night. It was nice to see you show us the yarns you are using for the hippy dippy tote. 😊❤ I also pickup stuff with my toes too. I am still working on filming better and getting good camera angles for tutorials. Its hard. ;)

Thank you so much, Lola, for your kind comment and for watching. Thankfully, I am off the road now. 22 years of trucking tore up my back.

Hi Christy dear💜🫂💜 I’m going to be trying my first 3 strand project in the next few days, so your video was perfectly timed for me 😹😹😹 Both Dee’s live-all the loving generosity- and Nessa’s live-with Crystal showing up at 2am-were great. Due to the tornados we had in the area, I lost power during Nessa’s live but I still had a good time. Thanks for this video dear. Much love & respect, have a blessed day, beautiful 💜🫂💜

Hi, @BlueSkyLissa!! Dee's "rules" for the Hippy Dippy Tote-ally Cool Boho handbag was three or more strands of yarn, and a good time to incorporate any novelty yarns that you may have lying around. She also wanted us to repurpose things, like straps. I purchased straps from Temu because I could not find any in my home to repurpose. It's those very fine weights of yarn that you throw in there that can be a little problematic. So, try to take your time and just enjoy the process. I can't wait to see what you come up with!! Dee started with a 30" chain, you can go bigger or smaller, it's your own special creation!! Thank you for watching, Lissa!! ♥️

I love to listen to your stories Christy. I am right-handed but seem to use my left hand more when crocheting! I'm weird, lol. I haven't tried Dee's tote yet. Her live was great Saturday. You have to love our crochet family.

Hi Christy! I love the tips on crocheting with multiple strands. My grandfather was a trucker who was based on the East Coast and went to the Midwest a lot. He loved his job. He's retired now, but he still talks about those days. :)

Ooooh, that bites, CarlAnn!! Carpal Tunnel syndrome? I had it for 8 days and it was agony. I healed myself by using wrist splints that I bought from CVS, and used ice and heat. And just rested my hands as much as possible. I was blessed that it disappeared after the 8th day and never came back!! I got stricken with acute Tunnel carpal syndrome while I had the steering wheel of my Semi in a death grip, trying to navigate the skinny lanes under construction on I-4 in Kissimmee, Florida. That section was a nightmare!! I pray for you to get better sooner rather than later!! ❤️

What did you mean with enjois you attached to a message to me in the live at Dee's two weeks ago. I didnt understan the multi colored heart and the square box. I could do that my mom taught how to pick stuff with my toes.

I will, but now I’m afraid I made my body of it too big it’s really wide and really long and I got a guitar strap to put on it and it will hold it but I really think I should order Purse straps two of them and do it like Dee did but I don’t get paid till the first so I’m gonna have to use the guitar ones. I don’t have time to make another to enter.

So am i. If you're not a pencil holder, i suggest furls or ommi or ophire hooks. They help me not choke up on the hook. But they do slow me down a little. Or just go up 1 to 1 and a half hook sizes with whatever hook you're most comfortable with ❤

@@amberbyers4218 me too. Love furls and ommi the best. If you like Susan bates style inline hooks, maybe give the furls or ommi a try. If you prefer boye- tapered hooks, you might not like them.
