Excellent episode with lots of twists and turns as to who the child really is. Don Johnson really showed the depth of his acting abilities in this episode, especially during his interaction with Castillo after Sonny returns from visiting his son. He feels so guilty ♥️

Best Acting. One of the Highlights of Season 4. For any kind of law enforcement, this is an episode that shows how tough the job can be in extreme situations. You´ll have to make a decision within seconds and this can change your life forever.

Otherwise known by its working titles, "All of God's Children" and "The Children's War". As for this episode, it marks the return of Belinda Montgomery as Caroline Crockett, and Parris Buckner as Bob. It also marks the debut of Clayton Barclay Jones as Billy Crockett who replaced Ryan St. Leon As for the "ripped from the headlines" aspect, it deals with two issues - the problems with youths being initiated in gangs through serious crimes which they cannot be penalized with the death penalty due to their age. And the 2nd issue being the issue with relations between law enforcement and minorities following an incident such as this one which is very relevant to this day with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Much like he did at the end of "Death and the Lady", Crockett again viciously attacks an unarmed suspect without provocation (Holiday). Such outbursts would have been unheard of in earlier seasons, perhaps a sign that Crockett is becoming increasingly worn down by the stress and perceived futility of his job. In fact, Crockett goes further still when he finally corners Monroe atop the large gas storage tank at the end of the episode -- in hesitating to save him after he falls over the edge, he essentially allows Monroe fall to his death.

Yes, another virtually unknown actor till he appeared in Miami Vice. I think the episode Bruce Willis was in was his first acting role

Yep. Ving played Walker Monroe and this was actually his second appearance on the show. He was previously in Season 1's The Maze. In addition to him, Isaac Hayes also appears here as Halliday the arms dealer.

Tbh I think this series pretty accurately showed at that time but also accurately predicted a lot of goings-on in the country not only then but also right now!! In the last few years there have been several cases of cops shooting and killing children. And cops being on the take as well as getting into alcohol and drugs!! So yeah this series was RIGHT ON!!!!

Sonny didn't know the person in the bedroom holding the gun was a young boy. All he saw was the shadow of the gun. He had to act and he acted correctly. One of the most dangerous calls cops get are domestic disturbance calls, because they don't know what they'll be facing on the other side of the door
