Could have not put it better myself. The ending of "Freefall" was one of the first times that I honestly shed a tear while watching a tv show or movie. Especially having seen all of the highs and lows that Crockett and Tubbs went though over the five seasons Miami Vice aired.

every time I see this episode it hits me very hard the same way you did back in May 19 89 when I was just 13 years old since September 16, 1984, which some 30 some odd years later is the same date I buried my father last year September 16, 2022, I’ve always thought of us, Crockett and Tubbs, as being my best friends before I even knew what having a best friend was like these two men were my best friends I’ve learned so much from them and my two favorite cars, the black Ferrari, Daytona, Spyder and Thomases Cadillac and of course my two favorite Speedboats Season One, the Chris-Craft stinger 390 and season two to season five the Wellcraft scarab. These guys were so instrumental in my life from 1990 playing Nintendo Rad racer part one and part two part one being the night time racing in San Francisco city, and in Rad racer two New York City night racing up until today’s nighttime street racing video games me and my friends created what is known as the Miami Vice effect. Every time I see this episode, I get very emotional. It’s like I’m losing my best friends all over again these guys have been and always will be my best friends for life 😢😢😢

To think that was 35 years ago.... I was in my final year in the Navy just coming back from a NATO tour. I missed alot of the shows, but I still enjoyed the greatest decade ever. The 90's was a nice transition.

1. Crockett and Tubbs against the Drug Lord and the Federals. 2. Tubbs with twin pistols against automatics... real "jones" here. 3. Crockett firing his pistol and the Striker at the same time... 4. The final stand against the Federals... 5. Castillo... always... Castillo. 6. The best farewell of any tv series. Crockett, Tubbs and the Testarossa. 7. That was the real end of the 1980's.

It'll never not be sad to see the toll the job took on Crockett. He looks tired, sad, and burned out. The later seasons worked well because they started focusing less on action, and more on what it does to the detectives, particularly shown through Crockett's therapy sessions. I hated that when I was younger, but appreciated it as I've gotten older.

@brandon They DID. Back in 2019 the entire cast returned to film new episodes. Knew a few people who watched some of the night shoots back then. Then Covid & the lockdown happened. But-- YT had a lot of clips of these new episodes posted. It looked great! YT pulled those clips so I'm glad I got to see them!

I always feel like Billy should've followed in Crockett's footsteps, and the "first" season sees him on the streets for the last time before he gets a promotion, because he would be 46 in 2024, and the rest of the series has him serving as lieutenant or something while leading younger Vice detectives.

I absolutely LOVED this show, the OG version only. New ones sucked @ss IMHO, of course. No one else could come even close to these two. The way they portrayed their characters and the chemistry they had on and off screen really lifted this show to phenomenal levels and frequently gave me chills and still do, when I see any of scenes presently. It's crazy to know that in all the years they knew each other and worked with each other, they NEVER ONCE had any disagreements, fights or disrespect towards each other. That in itself speaks to the character and professionalism of these exception men. Simply amazing. 💖🥰🫠🙃😏😏🥴🤗🔥💯% Also, does anyone know which season and episode this is???? I think I need to rewatch this series as an adult because I think I probably missed a lot of the more subtle story lines and watching now I imagine I would see a lot of what went right over my head and I missed as a child watching with my mom on my dad's bowling nights. I don't think that's entirely true, but TV characters can be written any way the producer's desire. It's easier to write characters to not have reasonable disagreements, and always agreeing is a bad sign in any relationship. Challenging other's ideas promotes growth. It can and should be done respectfully, but nobody's always perfect.

The biggest turn off of MV (besides the declining quality of the scripts) was how _"pretty"_ 👱‍♀️ Crockett had to be presented. It really got to nauseating towards the end.

I actually thought he was looking rough starting with Season 4, and it reflected perfectly with the tone, because I just know he wasn't the same after the events of The Good Collar.

@@stephencarter7266 Lol well... it's no secret that most fans agree that it went downhill, and the change in writers and production costs were so obvious, because something that bothered me was the fact they could no longer afford to bring Elvis on (or maybe he died in real life, I don't remember), but the show itself didn't handle that properly. Crockett never mentions him anymore, I don't think they even imply Crockett surrendered him to wildlife authorities, so this last episode where he's leaving his boat feels like Elvis should still be there but is being left behind. That makes it sadder, but don't get me wrong, I need to rewatch to make sure I didn't miss details there, because it just feels like I am.
