Most channels get to this point where they feel they have to address nasty comments. It's inevitable that someone or multiple comments will get to you eventually. It doesn't mean they're right. This is why I avoid putting myself out on the internet like you do. Don't let the tail wag the dog. Just do your thing and the people that enjoy it will stay. Ignore the nasty comments, maybe listen to friendly feedback and let the positive comments motivate you. Plenty of people enjoy your content!

The chemistry was real. After starring together in Crocodile Dundee II, which was also a huge hit you might want to check out if you're looking for more, Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski married. Unfortunately Hogan was never able to replicate the success of Crocodile Dundee and Crocodile Dundee II, starring in a series of flops (including Crocodile Dundee III actually). He was actually a huge TV star in Australia before and after his Hollywood ventures, so he did okay nonetheless.

So..."throw another shrimp on the barbie" comes from a TV commercial with Paul Hogan (Croc Dundee). Thing is "shrimp" isn't a word in Aussie English. "Prawns" is the word. One of dearest friends is Aussie and she has no issue with this film...except that her entire life everyone quotes it at her. She's soft-spoken, kind-hearted, shy even...but when anyone says to her "that's not a knife" or "throw a shrimp..." her eyes fill with blood and a stream of raging, dirty vitriol explodes from her at the offender in question. 😂🤣🤣🤣 Fantastic reaction, yall. And thank you *SO* much for the shout out at the start! That warmed my heart today!
@BossMovieReactions
@BossMovieReactions 8 күн бұрын
Ah, "Prawns", not "Shrimp." I quoted the shrimp line from "Dumb and Dumber." Haha, tired of the "that's not a knife" line. Happy to hear that we could "warm" your heart! (:
@gggooding

@@BossMovieReactions You weren't wrong, Mike! The 80's ad _said_ "shrimp" (which Dumb is referencing). Hogan was told to say "shrimp" instead because Americans don't know what a prawn is. And thus it became a silly, inaccurate yet ubiquitous Thing. Life is strange and stupid and magical, ain't it?

We actually dropped into the Walkabout Creek Hotel for a beer a couple of weeks ago when travelling through that area. Although the film is set in the Northern Territory the pub where they shot those scenes is in a little town called McKinley in outback Queensland. In the front yard of the hotel there are also other movie props such as the old hunting truck. There are only a few people who live in McKinley permanently but the annual rodeo was being advertised so no doubt the population would increase a 1000 fold while it was on.. The hotel is a must visit for Aussies like us when passing through that area especially those who were around when those Croc movies were released. Great review some of the old lines may have become a bit well worn like that aint a knife but I think the Aussie humour still comes through.

I don't know why a reaction to this film stumbled into my feed, but the last time I saw this movie it was rented by my parents at a video store, back when I was a kid. Given how rentals used to rock, I would imagine it was six to twelve months after the flick came out in theatres. 1986 you say. NYers will kick you when you're in the way, step on you when you're crazy, ignore you when whine... And then they'll pick you up, give you $20 , hug you when you cry, help you find True Love. Love the reaction. Subscription added. BTW interesting bit of trivia. At the beginning of the movie you can see a bridge outside of Sue’s hotel window. That’s the Sydney Harbour Bridge and that is where Paul Hogan (Mick Dundee) started his working career as a painter and rigger painting the bridge until he entered a talent show as a joke and the rest is history. His working class roots is one of the reasons he is much beloved in Australia. Cheers from another Civil Engineering in Australia.

Not only is that a stuffed crocodile but what most people miss is that its a freshwater crocodile, which are not particularly dangerous. They're small and wont attack unless you attack them or scare them. At the end, how he walks across the crowd of people is how an Australian sheep dog will walk across the top of a flock of sheep in a pen. Its instantly recognisable to most Australians but it seems to be a bit of a mystery to non-Australians. If you liked this, try The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, or Muriel's Wedding. Both great comedies. Both full of internationally famous Australian stars from their early years. There's also a crocodile dundee 2. You will find them a bit unusual because Australian comedies tend to have a message as well and tend to be quite uplifting.
@BossMovieReactions
@BossMovieReactions 7 күн бұрын
Ah, a freshwater croc, I didn't know. I learned about the sheepdog. As a filmmaker, I would have included a scene where Sue watches sheepdogs doing exactly that!! It would have been fun for the audience to see (learn) and it would've made the last scene even MORE special. Dundee 2 is at the top of our list. Added your suggestions. Thanks for watching! (:

I went to Perth WA in 1979. I was 18 at the time and a bit of a soft Englishman. My oldest brother moved out there when I was 8 and being a really good boxer he had earned the respect of those he knew. After helping him work on a roof all day in the blazing summer heat he decided we should visit the Tavern. It was just like the pub in this movie....full of rough Aussies. My brother had told me that if I didn't stand up to them I'd be in trouble. We walked in and my brother introduced me. This huge guy stood up and said "Fuck off ya Pommie bastard". I nearly shit myself but rembered what my brother had told me, so I walked over and got 3 inches from the guys face and told his to shut his fat ugly face. He looked at me for a few seconds and said "let me get you beer mate". From that point on I could go in there on my own and I never had to buy a single drink. 7 weeks in the best country on the planet. I wish I'd stayed there. ✌🏻❤🇬🇧

@@BossMovieReactions one of other favorite movie reactor channels name is literally popcorn in bed... Not trying to promote other people on your channel just saying it's not uncommon to snack while watching a movie. I have a second profile name here on KZbin and it is CEREAL KILLER! No, Wally's aftershave." "He wants to know if we're allowed to eat these men." Check it out, to find out the context.

The boomerang did originate in Australia. But it's more commonly called a "kiley" or "rabbit stick. Real ones don't return though. Instead, they have one protracted arm to throw it further , and a flat underside to sustain long distance flight. We adopted them in Kentucky around 1870 to hunt flocks of duck, pheasant and rabbit. But the Aussies still use them to hunt flocks of cockatoo, fruit bats, rodents, and medium size marsupials. A lot of Assuies came to Appalachia post Civil War, and we still have a lot of shared culture and tools today. Some of my best friends are Assuie descended.

Paul Hogan (Mick) and Linda Kozlowski (Sue) actually did start dating during the filming of the movie (which explains the great chemistry). In 1990 the two got married. 1st I'd like to say, never apologise for eating when watching a movie in the comfort of your own home. I would guess most people watching do, and that it's more rude for some random person to try and dictate to you what you can and can't do in your own home on your own KZbin channel. 2nd is that apparently the character of crocodile Dundee is loosely based on a real person, as a bit of trivia for you.
