I grew up adoring this man. I wanted to be just like him when I was a kid, and I still do. When I first saw his show (I think I was about 7 years old) and I saw the Australia Zoo, I was like "There. That's where I want to work one day." I'm 22 now. Nothing's changed.

I know what you mean. This man touched the lives of many people, including myself. I always enjoyed watching and learning from him when I didn't have any school work when I was little. The Australia Zoo is definitely on my list of places to visit in the world. His work and personality will never be forgotten.

I am so sad, that he died. He was someone who split the party, there were the ones who loved him, and the ones who guess he's very unpopular. But for me, he was remarkable and one of the best animal filmers in the world. He brought animal wildlife to the living room, and his acting was so good, especially for children. He left a blank, none would fill that easy... Unfortunately, his films are not available in Germany...

I'm glad God Shared this guy with the world as long as he did. he was a force of Nature himself. I got so much joy from watching where he was going next and what creature he would reveal to us. it was completely fascinating watching him wrestle crocs twice or 3 times his size without any regard or protection for himself. he caught huge snakes and huge lizards barehanded and made it look so easy. I wonder if Bindi will take his place. if not then we have to wait for another explorer to emerge.

Steve Irwin was a true hero to many animals worldwide and a role model for many children who grew up watching him. He taught people about the importance of animal conservation and unlike some of the hyprocrites out there he actually loved the animals he worked with. His death was a blow to many but the real tragedy is what his wife has done in his name and to his family since his death. The animals were his life but his family was his love.
