Great video! I think I may have shot the same scene, solo, in the vehicle next to your guides 3 years ago! One of the guides exclaimed in my video exclaimed that in 15 years of guiding he hadn't witnessed a scene like that. It was an incredible moment to see the two crocodiles work together. I stayed around until the crocs surfaced a few minutes later with the impala. The following moments are incredible as well. The hippos ushered the crocs out further downstream with the remaining carcass 10-15 minutes later. The hippo licked the blood stained sand where the crocs did much of their work. It didn't seem to be the stomach contents (i.e. grass). That was an interesting behavior that I didn't expect from the hippos. I just published my first 2 minute clip of this scene. 3 years after this moment in Kruger, it's still exciting to go through the footage. I spent 39 incredible days in Kruger! Take care! Jason

@@PKSafaris Hello again! Here's the link to the footage of the first part of the scene kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3LcZZh5j8Z-l7c I went back and listened to your footage as well. It is definitely the same scene! It's still a little spooky that your video was recommended by the KZbin engine and this connects us to the same moment 3 years ago. There were only a few vehicles there that morning. Really cool to cross paths this way. I sat on the footage for 3 years. I got in a bit of a funk working in healthcare through the pandemic while my travel/wildlife photography plans got put on hold. I recently finished a couple of Boyd Varty's books. There's a line from the book, "When you lose your track, go back to where it was the freshest. Then find your next first track." The age old wisdom resonated with me and pulled me enough outta the funk to watch the footage from my experience in Kruger. It reminded me that eyes on wildlife is a great way to help protect them.

@jcpenny3606 Жыл бұрын
The difference is that impalas can see the lions and hyenas from a safe distance. Crocs have an unfair advantage. The way they are designed, its ability to lurk under the water and camouflaged with the color of it. This enable Crocs to get within 5 feet of snatching anything. It's a very unfair advantage, even stupid humans get victimized by it. I won't because I dress up like a knight, have an Uzi in each hand, and a fanny pack filled with grenades.
