In this video we take to the Holland Bay Crocodile Sanctuary 🐊 in St.Thomas Jamaica
more information below
👇👇👇
Holland Bay American Crocodile Sanctuary is a sanctuary for American Crocodiles in Holland Bay, Jamaica. They protect adult crocodiles and raise baby crocodiles safe from predators.
It was founded by a Jamaican native named Lawrence Henriques.
The American Crocodile is the only crocodile species that lives in Jamaica. The majority live in mangrove swamps, marshes, and rivers along the southern coast of the island.
It is estimated that there are only 700 crocodiles left in Jamaica.

I respect and appreciate what this man is doing. I found it funny that he has some of the most dangerous animals on the planet on his property yet there is a "Beware of dog" sign on his gate.

These are the things that Jamaica should be paying attention to there are a lot of other species of animals in Jamaica that a basically going extinct on the island. We need more people or organization like him. And all those people with the negativity and misunderstanding they might be dangerous but still a importance to our history

Agreed, I remember growing up hearing stories about galliwasp and how dangerous they are. Now as an adult I've learned we've basically wiped out these harmless reptiles with the introduction of non native mongoose. We have to educate ourselves on these myths and recognize these animals are a part of Jamaica's ecosystem and have a right to live in nature.

Like really! Who needs crocodile running wild in their country of paradise? You will wake up one day when it’s at your door steps or your love ones. Educated fools!

@@rasras4749 this planet is big enough for man and beast. Whether you believe in God, Nature, the universe, whatever or whoever has placed these animals here as an apex predator. They might seem insignificant to you but they're a part of the food chain and been in the Americas long before slavery. I'm not saying they should breed and live on people front door, I am saying they have a history in Jamaica and deserve to live.

These reptiles are the ultimate survivors from the dinosaur era. They’re potentially dangerous to humans but not as aggressive as some other species like the African nile crocodile and the Australian salt water crocodiles. But they hold some significance to the island as They’re on the crest of the coatof arms
