I decided to go with the PC Carbine Chassis model. Ruger did all the work.

Great video, really informative. It made my chassis installation smooth and easy. I agree with some viewer’s comments about the expense of the upgrade. However, there is no doubt about the fit, and quality of the the chassis and the low rise hand guard as well. The issue I had with my install was I ordered a left hand mag release, but mine arrived with a right hand release installed. I ordered the correct release. I went ahead and took it to the range with installed release and of course it got a pretty good coating of carbon on it and I can’t make it look new again. So no return for me. I have the correct release installed with the coffin extension now. The only thing about CROM, seems they are like “IN AND OUT”, they don’t make it to you order it. Super long lead times on your parts. In all honesty, that’s literally the first thing you notice when visiting their sight. Thanks again for the video, I am very pleased with my carbine.

Really like that chassis, but it cost almost as much as the carbine.
@KD-lb9bg Жыл бұрын
Very nice, but waaay too pricey in relation to the original cost of the rifle itself. Thanks for the detailed guide.

I liked the idea and bought one. Assembly was not hard. I also bought and installed the Magpull stock. The chassis was a bit tight so I recommend coating the inside with a bit of grease. Since ammo is scarce right now I did finally acquire enough to take it shooting to an outdoor range when it opens back up. I really love the chassis and butt stock addition. It is worth the price in my opinion.

Congrats on your acquisition! Sounds like you have a slick build.

I love the way the crom chassis looks but the stock is similar to og one. I went with the tandemkross upriser chassis and installed a Milspec buffer tube with an adjustable stock and couldn’t be happier with it. I just wish crom could make it affordable and more different than the original Ruger PC9. In my opinion just looks like a facelift from the original design. Tandemkross upriser turns it to a whole different carbine IMO

Really well done guide- thanks! I haven't been able to get a PCC yet but when I do, I'll be going for their chassis and low-rise rail. For me, the cost is justified considering how well machined everything is. If you want the ultimate PCC, this is it. Add in the Volquartsen trigger group and sure, it'll be expensive, but it would truly compete (feature and build wise) with most AR9 platforms while still being compliant. How similar is the low-rise install to the high-rise video you posted?
@FaRKle00794 жыл бұрын
The low-rise rail installs fairly similarly, and the only real difference is where the rail mounts to the rear sight location on the barrel. I purchased a low-rise rail from CROM, and when it comes in I'll do an install video on that too.

Just put mine together on a brand new pc carbine and I'm having an issue with glock mags. Took it to the range, twice, when it was stock and had no issue with the glock magwell/mags. With the chassis put together, thanks to your video, my new gen 4 glock 17 mags fall right out of the magwell unless I keep constant pressure on the front of the mag release bar. I took it apart several times and from what I can tell the mag release button barely makes contact with the impression on the glock mags. :(
@FaRKle00794 жыл бұрын
Does it seem like the Ruger Glock magwell adapter is sitting too high up, and you can't push the mag in far enough for it to catch? If so, I'd see if the magwell adapter is getting caught up on something and not sliding down fully. On mine I had to file the edges of the magwell adapter ever so slightly to get it to fully go into the chassis.
@Injuryprone184 жыл бұрын
@@FaRKle0079 It sits fine. It's more the catch doesn't go far enough in the magwell to lock in place.

What is the benefit of the Crom chassis vs the stock Ruger chassis?

The CROM chassis gives you a quick index finger mag release, and the ability to use any Mossberg 500 pattern stock you like.

So after seen this, I decided to get one for myself and put my information down until I got to the payment part, I tried to click the MasterCard button to pay for it but its not doing anything so I’m stuck at the payment part and can’t put my debt card to pay for it, did that happen to you if so, how did you get past the payment part from cromusa?
@FaRKle00794 жыл бұрын
I called the CROM guys and they said they have had payment issues on the site (part of the switch to the new system after PayPal froze their account and held the money hostage). They said that the issues should've been resolved last night. Give it a try again!

You should have tested the mag again after everything was put in. Is it ambi?
@FaRKle00793 жыл бұрын
Yes the mag release is ambi because it maintains the original button. The index finger release can only be used on one side though (they sell a left and right bar for it). I've put MANY trouble free rounds through it at the range since. It's one of my favorite plinkers.

@@FaRKle0079 So is there another model for Ruger’s AR look model? I figured the one in the video is for the standard butt stock.

Can you put the mag release on ether side ?
@FaRKle00794 жыл бұрын
Yes, the index finger mag release can be put on either side. The chassis comes with the bar for right handed release, and they sell a different bar for left handed release. I suppose you could always just ask for the left handed release instead though with original purchase of the chassis.

Amazing product, but it's extremely overpriced. If they did the same thing but in polymer and at half the price. It would sell better. The carbine itself cost around 500 give or take. And this Chassis ALONE, not even including any extras cost $325. That's crazy. At this point. You might as well get a pistol caliber AR, or build your own.

A polymer chassis is a good idea. It'd be cool to see them do that!

Idk man, I want a full rifle length pcc, and it seems like if you don't pay $900, you won't get a great product. You can build it yourself, but that's still pricey and can be risky. If I give $500 for the gun, $350 for the chassis, and $150 for an ATI scorpion folding stock, I spent a hundred bucks more, but my gun splits in half, the stock is comfortable and folds, and I get the Ruger name. It just depends on what you're looking for I guess, but getting this would let me do exactly what I want (And it would match my Mossberg)
