That feeling leads him to know more about that technology as well as other areas of technology. Now, the person reaches upto a stage where he don't care if he is getting paid or not for this. He studies different things about technology because he can . This is passion. What this guy is saying that if you are doing engineering (Let's just say). You don't like doing initially but you learnt the rules, like how to get good marks, how to build great projects etc...... Then you starts wining. Then ofcourse You would do that with same intensity as it were your passion......But that won't be your passion......Would you explore different technologies or would you learn different things for the shake of learning. NO. Passion is something, which you do without thinking about money. It's about doing things for the shake of doing or because you like doing it. And If someone says" There is no such things as passion" then he didn't made effort to find it.

My father started a manufacturing business back in 1997 and profit margin is atleast 40 percent (sometimes even 60 percent if our client is some big company like TATAs. It's highly profitable till you have good connections, quality is atleast national level best if not international, highly efficient technicians who you have train from scratch. It's highly highly tough. I'm 23 now and joined the family business. Tomorrow is my first international business trip. My target is to launch 4 more robotic products before turning 30. When he says 'I didn't have any passion in IT but I'm only a coder and I started it out of sheer competition', i it's a bit difficult to digest.Since the major skill required in S/w industry is coding skill.A good coder should know every other technical details as well as theoretical knowledge like a little bit of Algebra, Probability to develop algorithm.A highly creative task.

Passion is not what you think it is Brother. The example you gave about Jeff Bezos, he is passionate about selling and making revenue, however it comes. Thats the passion of selling and not being passionate of selling books. Where as a lot of people are passionate about what they want to and they do it. Like I love travel, i wanted to change how people travel, in the worse of times i did not move to anything, today i have my own travel company. So passion is a different concept altogether.

Passion in my opinion is work that gives you pleasure without involving any external rewards. Like for me a job can be my passion, i like that, it suits to me now as I see others doing it. But that job should belong to the field i like, right? That's how I'll feel good, for me i feel electronics is what I want and truly enjoy, i would have job for the same. The need of money and your passion and job belong to some Venn diagram representation, everything should be balanced perfectly in accordance with.
