Firstly, it's on the individual to choose the career that he/she really wants to pursue, doing an MBA obviously need some calculative decision to make and we can't just rely on this podcast to choose MBA or not. That's not entirely true. In early 2000, dollar used to be equivalent to 40 rupees which is now more than double, but salary for freshers hasn't increased with same pace. In 2008, a fresher in IT companies like TCS & Infosys used to get 3 lakh as a starting package and it is almost similar even after 15 years.

Investors get work done in less amount due to lower currency value, but the employee get same salary but most importantly they get a Job ! It's just my personal opinion, but many people out there believe there's a structured way of getting a job/salary. Though many engineering colleges have made it appear to us in this way. But most of us, tend to believe, Go to a college + complete the degree/Assignments/Exam = Job. Most of the people opt for MBA, just because they want higher packages, not because they think they are the right fit for the kind of work the recruiters are expecting from them. But it doesn't work that way. You have to believe in your work profile, the kind of work which complements your happiness and skills. I know it's a cliche advise, but trust me there is always some kind of work in corporate you would happily do. You have to get yourself to know what's required to be a valuable asset, you have to figure it out on your own, search, read, be smart. There's no course or a structured syllabus to Excel, just like there's no syllabus to crate a booming business. You have to be creative and smart. Because if there were, everyone would have made it , right? Just the silver lining as I don't wanna make it descriptive. But never ever forget or ignore the fact that am I really worth the money I am getting? Can I be replaced? Can the company find a cheaper replacement to do the same work? How can I become irreplaceable? Is just studying technical worth it or do I have to have different skills as add-on? Am I just an employee or am I someone selling my skills to the company?

I am graduated in MBA finance. I agree with the views points in this video towards MBA students. I am working as a financial analyst in a multinational company with 3.5L pa. My colleagues who just completed under graduation like BBA and B com also getting the same package. Companies are not exactly looking for MBAs but if they find one, they are picking for cheap cost. Everyday regretting my self y I have done MBA. If i have not done MBA now my package would be 7 to 9 lpa. It would be a different story If i have done MBA from IIM. @@rohangodse4182 whats he is saying is partially true. Cz most of the big mnc's just hire people and keep them in reserved pool. And sometimes these candidates are kept in reserve pool even for 6 months or a year. Also some of the mnc's arent efficient they effectively work for 2-3 hours a day most of the time is wasted in meetings etc. So as theres recetion coming up (not sure about this) companies have stared identifying these areas and laying off buch of employees. Fb twitter amazon has already done this. But having said this if you are going for engineering go for CS/IT cz even if one doesn't take up CS/IT at the end they end up in IT companies. Cz in the engineering field cs/it is still the most lucaritive field. Just think about it yourself right from each and every electical equipments to our vehicles everything is smart now. So whos going to manufacture and maintain those.

Take example of Apple vs Other budget phone, most modern phones (Redmi) very closely resembles iphones designs & sell it to mass market at a reasonable price. SO its kind of a drop shipping technique except they are selling in a lower price. MBA ia loosing to more specialized skill. Time has change and a good number of jobs in past recruited through MBA graduate is replaced by data engineer, CA, user researcher, science graduate or people having knowledge or certification of using software tools. For traditional sales and marketing and HR MBA gradaute will be preffered but lots of other analyst job MBA will or already getting less prefferance. 2 years of break from Job for doing MBA is seen as disadvantge when you are using specialise software tools for your work. People have more chances of getting better salary by upskilling in same field.

The syllabus of graduation must be abolished and new syllabus on vocational training should be implemented so that students can be self employable and work ready to reduce employment. Productive years of children are wasted in useless graduation.

@@rohangodse4182 Nope doesn't matter if your are CS or not the starting salary is 3.3 for everyone (all engineers with BE degree) unless ofcourse someone is from IIT, I was not from IIT but I was from a reputed college that's why Tata and other companies used to visit our campus.

Same here bro. Inko lagta hai ye log kuch b bolenge aur log maan lenge. Jo isne fb ka example diya hai wo bhi misleading hai. Fb ka starting development salary at junior level in india somewhere starts from 15-30LPA. Where as in US its close to 100k dollars a year. Aur ye bol raha hai ki 60k dollars a year indians ko dete hai. Maybe 1-2 candidates ko diya hoga package par ye thodi na average salary hogayi.
