Crosby said the bass by Cassidy was like another voice......I agree.

Jack Casady... The Jimi Hendrix of the electric bass, or something like that. My bass hero

Got in a car wreck when I was 15 and was laid up for a few days. My mom bought this 4 CD set for me to listen to. This version was my favorite song.

The real deal. Thanks, Croz. Your work here is done. Grateful for all you gave, and to have been in the room with you. Music is the best. Play on. Peace.

This is the demo that got Crosby the record deal he used to form CSN. The vocals and guitar are all by Crosby using a multitrack; the bass is Jack Casady of Jefferson Airplane.

Thanks a lot for the info !! Didn't know Croz did the job (record deal) for what would become the masterpiece first CSN record.

This is the best song ever and I'll tell ya why. It continues to evolve. There are countless versions, both studio and live, out there that are all different from each other for everyone to enjoy. They are all absolutely beautiful.

I’ve always known Jack would play a great bass part for this song. Now; waiting to hear same with Deja Vu. Please complete the circle!

Not sure if I cried when John Lennon died what a loss! But I certainly did when David Crosby did,no person has touched me musically more than him since I was a boy, only hope I can live to his age to enjoy his music, seen him a few times with CSN but quite recently at Vina Robles in California with a small band and he hadn’t lost anything!that’s it

Sounds a tad bit like eight miles high by the Byrds. The bass playing faintly reminds me of the Roger Mcguin piece--8 miles high that is.
