You probably tried this but I'll tell you anyway just in case. There are no lights on the unit. So, dont expect some sort of light indicator to tell you that there is power. The only way to know it is working is when you swing the tonearm (needle) toward the turntable. That is when you should see the turntable spin.

i don't like the way how you just plop the needle on the record. like couldn't you have done that in a more gentler way?

@@nickypreedy6273 You can buy it directly off of Crosley's website if you want to... I've gotten to play around with a couple of them. A friend of mine has one in use often. They seem like nice little units. I would say my only real criticism is the knobs could be a little more 'solid' feeling, but they've never given him any trouble or anything, and it looks very nice. I have to say it sounds excellent for the size of the unit.
