► The TRUTH About Crosley Turntables!! Crosley C6 Record Player Review
Do Crosley turntables suck? Crosley gets a lot of hate and I've always been curious to know if the audiophile wrath was really warranted. So I bought a C6 to find out. The Crosley record player might not be audiophile grade but for most people, especially those just getting started in vinyl records, the C6 is a great place to start.

My first player was a kids Imperial Play Time. My favorite TT is my Technics SL D2 but it was used and non functioning when I got it and needed a new cart/stylus which cost 3x more than I paid for the TT. My #2 favorite is my new Crosley Cruiser Deluxe. I also have a TT SL-B2 and a Montgomery Wards all in one unit that I simply refuse to play any records on. I'd let the Cruiser touch my vinyls before I would let the Wards unit touch them.

First player was a ION Profile LP. Which actually wasn't as bad as everyone told me it was. Favorite turntable is a Cybernet CP200. Found at the dump, pulled it from the trash. Disassembled, cleaned it up, tested and replaced cartridge with an Ortofon Omega 1e cartridge (didnt know if it would work, wanted to not spend alot on it). Abd now it's an amazing piece.

My first record record player was a monophonic suitcase record from the Symphonic budget brand. It was not near as nice as the suitcase record players of today. My mother saved Green Stamps for several months to get it. I was as happy as could be. I could now talk to the other kids about records. Records were a big thing to young teens back then. That was in the summer of 1967 when I was 12. A lot of times we have to start with something basic and work our way up. We learn to appreciate things more. At least we used to.

My Granddaughter is 15 yrs old and is working her first job in a grocery store. Last year she saved her money and bought me a Crosley combination old time radio turntable with a built-in CD player. I have it sitting between the Sansui AU-717 amp I'm using as my pre and my hand-built tube amp and Technics turntable that feed into my Klipsch Heritage series speakers. She got it because she wanted me to have some way to play my 78's. She is an angel. Guess what my favorite piece of equipment is!

Highly doubtful. I hate hipsters, but shitty tt's from the 70's are still cheap. The verdict is in and with the internet you can find out what is the best of the best and why, THEN over pay for it on Ebay. Won't happen with the amount of these they pump out. Also these won't work well, if at all, in 20 years.

When I started collecting vinyl I did a lot of research and ended up with a AT LP60 for less than $100. It was a great first record player. Then, once I hit owning over 100 records I started shopping around for a serious turntable and dropped over $750 on a much nicer one. But that was 2 years into the hobby. I would never encourage someone to spend anything more than $100 if you're just getting started. Spend on my records!!

I initially got into collecting records when one of my old teachers gave me one of his turntables when he retired. It was a Crosley Cruiser Executive. It got me really into collecting and it was fun. It was also free for me lmao. Then recently I started being more active on forums and KZbin, and I became ashamed of my starter turntable. Today (15th of September) was my birthday. I was informed by my parents that they ordered me the turntable I’ve been wanting. A u-Turn Orbit. I’m incredibly excited, but after watching this video, I’m a bit ashamed of myself for feeling dumb and embarrassed of my starter turntable. The audiophiles really ruined it for me for a while, and I appreciate this video. I was just 11 when I got that record player, it served me well. Thank you for cleaning my self-shame. There’s nothing I should’ve been ashamed of.

Very good - very sensible as always. I would go a bit further and say that if all you can afford is the very cheapest entry level turntable (from any manufacturer), if the alternative is not listen to vinyl at all, then go ahead and get one. Sure, it won't sound as good as a more expensive turntable; it may eventually damage your records at some point, but that logic (expensive things are usually better than cheaper ones) applies to most things in life. Some people correctly say you can get a second hand turntable with better specifications that an entry level new one, but many of us are nervous of buying used gear when you don't know what you're doing. If you buy a new anything and it doesn't work as advertised, the seller has to replace or refund, which is not always the case with second hand items. The only one who has to enjoy or love your system is you - well said!

My first turntable was actually one of these suitcase style turntables, although it wasn’t by Crosley. (I believe it was Victrola.) The thing was terrible and I gave it away the exact same day I got it. The thing skipped on every record I played and had a very uneven speed. ...But you know what? It actually made me anticipate my second upgrade (The AT-LP60) that much more. I was excited to finally get to listen to my records and experience them the right way. So while I suppose you could say my experience with these types of turntables wasn’t the best, it actually helped in the long run. It made me realize that this was going to me a hobby that I’d enjoy. So for that, I have to give it applause.

I was one of the people who cautioned against Crosley. However, let me state a couple things: 1. For years and years, Crosley offered _only_ plastic record players with ceramic cartridges. When you say Crosley, that's what usually comes to mind. The magnetic cartridge turntables are relatively new and are certainly suitable for "hi-fi" use. 2. To this day when you see a Crosley record player in stores, it's generally one of the cheap retro models. People need to know there's a difference. I applaud Crosley's move upmarket. I'd like to banish those plastic record players forever, not because of how they sound (buy whatever you're happy with) but because they're hard on records.
@vwestlife
@vwestlife 5 жыл бұрын
1. Crosley has been selling record players with a magnetic cartridge for over a decade now. 2. Victrola has taken over the low-end retail market; Crosley is already selling the T150 at Barnes & Noble and the T400 at Target, both of which use the same AT3600 magnetic cartridge as this turntable. 3. Even the ceramic-cartridge ones aren't as hard on records as you might think; tests have shown only minor wear after playing a record *100 times* on one of them, which is far more than most people will ever play the same record before they get tired of it.

You said that so perfectly. You would have thought Crosley would have offered a high grade suitcase model with a magnetic cartridge and anti scating. How much extra could that have really cost? Reminds me when just about every console stereo had a ceramic cartridge back in the 1960's and 1970's and people paid hundreds of dollars for those. Lucky my Sylvania console stereo has a magnetic cartridge...and an 8 track player! Magnavox was the biggest offender. Charging old people $1000 for a beautiful wood cabinet console stereo only to employ a ceramic cartridge.

You know what? I just bought a Cruiser. I already collect, and I have a fairly sturdy setup. I bought it so I could listen to records while cleaning/doing schoolwork/taking it to a friend's house/doing things that require me to be away from my main setup. It sounds...exactly like how you'd expect. lol But there's a charm to it, it looks beautiful, and I bought it for the portability and to make tedious tasks like cleaning and doing research for master's level courses a little more enjoyable. And it does just that. It's not audiophile grade, but it has a charm to it and serves its purpose. I had a turntable no better than this when I first started collecting, and my records play fine.

If you can find a good 80's model that works and is operational go that route. But if you don't want to tinker with old hardware, you're on a budget or just want to get started with vinyl to see if it's something you like then Crosley is a great option. I know this may come as a surprise to some but there are more people without record players than working 80's turntables.

Ok i get these tables are beginner units or novelties..BUTTTTT People fail to give them due credit. Why you ask? Because these suitcase units regardless of brand had a massive hand in the current lp boom. Think about it.. a few years ago when these came out and was a holiday promo for box stores they caught on.. By doing so they turned a new generation onto viynl and hifi in general. Later they was available year round not just seasonally and kids and ild timers alike started picking them up. Which meant they needed albums to play on them . Now most people who got serious upgraded and thats that. But either way they was the spark behind the latest boom

You are absolutely right. We have a tendency evaluate other people based on the things they can afford to buy. If all you can afford in a record player is a Crosley Cruiser then get to play your records until you can afford better. Selling better turntables at a reasonable price is a good move for the Crosley brand image. At that price point the manufacturer can afford to include a speed change switch and on/off switch on the front. Just an opinion from videos in the past. I don't know Crosley makes the products they sell. A lot of today's electronics are made by overseas manufacturers that makes products for many companies so companies that sell turntables and other gear may not actually manufacture their products.

The Crosley has the same motor that Sony and Audio Technica uses. If you have speed control issues, remove the motor cover on the bottom. It has two potentiometer screws to adjust the 33 1/3 and 45 RPM. I replaced the cartridge and speed adjusted it using a strobe ring and strobe light. Dead nuts. In a blind test, people would think it was a $500 table.

No, not every Crosley is a Cruiser, and there are Crosleys out there that are worth investigating. And as this shows, not all Crosleys are for beginners. My suggestion is the C200, for it's direct drive (the belt drive version is the C100). Both of these Crosleys--C100 or C200--have had good reviews, so it's just a matter of choice whether you would want belt drive or direct drive. However: even though there are people whom have had a good experience with the U Turn, I wouldn't suggest it. The build is just frankly low end, and for a bit more you can have either the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon or a Fluance table in the Reference (R82, etc.) series. Both of these show greater construction value (more sturdily built with a thicker plinth) than the U Turn. However, if your heart is set on a U Turn, there's nothing wrong in buying one. But personally, I would recommend for a beginner, the new AT LP60x. You do not have to adjust the belt to change speeds, and the new design is easy to use and looks cool. Just put your record on and press play. That's it. For the intermediate and advanced record spinners, I highly recommend the AT LP120 (or 120x). I have had one for two years now, and it works just as good as when I bought it. This is a direct drive turntable, so there is no messing with belts, either internally or externally. I am NOT going to address the belt vs direct drive issue here--I am merely sharing my experience. For those who love to argue this point, may I suggest you join a debating team where you can debate this and other topics endlessly to your heart's content. My point is: sharing of experiences and information is what this forum is for, not to start or to get into arguments about who really is mas macho (do I smell some trolls here???).

I got the crosley c6 turntable and I was so excited. It is my first record player. My friend and I finally got it to work and as we were looking up videos to set it up we were tripping out because we saw all these vids and posts talking about how crosleys screw up your records. But thats just the cheap suitcase ones that dont have a counterweight. I sighed a breath of relief. Also, we were going to get the victrola all in one record player and Im so glad we didnt. We joked saying it would prob scratch our records and eat our cassettes. Edit: Hey! You have the same record player as me! Awesome!

Great video. And they make much better turntables as well. Just avoid the suitcase models and you'll be fine. Not that they'll destroy your records, but because you can get such better tables for just a bit more. Audiophiles forget that not everyone is an audiophile. I've been critically listening to music for decades and I thank GOD every day that I am NOT one. All that said, FOR ME the sweet spot is in the 250-300 dollar range. That's good enough for me.

_"Do Crosley turntables suck?"_ It depends on which one you buy. If you have to buy Crosley, get one which uses an AudioTechnica magnetic cartridge as opposed to those models using a ceramic cartridge. And there are Crosley models where a serious effort was made at making a good turntable, particularly some models that were made for Crosley by Pro-Ject. Personally, I'd rather buy a used Japanese direct drive. They work well, they're built well, and you can usually get one for a reasonable price so long as it's not something like a Technics SL-1200 or a Denon with a servo tonearm and a huge plinth. The only caveat is that you may have to work to set the turntable up ... unless it uses a P-mount tonearm, which would basically make it plug-n-play, though cartridge choices may be more limited with the P-mount format compared to what you can get for the universal mount.

The BSR record changers were very popular in Canada/USA, around the mid 70’s. goo.gl/images/9koLcA en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham_Sound_Reproducers Some double LP’s came re-stamped from the pressing plants, to accommodate these record changers. This allowed the listener, to stack both records in the BSR changer, and have the ability to play side A then side B, un-interrupted.

Many think that when a product has the right brand, it automatically will be the right product. In the 80s Marantz made a lot of profit selling cheap plastic crappy stereo sets with their name on it. That Audio Technica is the same. It is overprized plastic crap with a brand on it.
@7JANEWAY
@7JANEWAY 5 жыл бұрын
That's not true about Audio Technica. I haven't had an LP 60, but I've read many reviews about it, and rarely do I see ANYONE complaining about its build or quality. I had a Sony USB300 which is just like the LP 60, and it served me well for several years. Yes, the speed was a bit fast as these turntables tend to be, but as others have pointed out, you can adjust it with a screwdriver in the bottom hole. The build quality was not heavy but adequate to do the job it was made for. It never destroyed my records or caused any other problems. I now have an AT LP 120 (the LP 60's big brother), and I absolutely love it. I've had it for well over a year now and it works and sounds as good as the day I bought it. It definitely is NOT "overprized plastic crap with a brand on it", so please don't label all AT turntables that unless you've had experience with them and can speak from your experience. In short--the Crosley Cruisers (and Victrolas and other suitcase type record players) are the ones that are crap. I believe Crosley (among others) are making these other turntables to prove that they're not just a one horse show, and also that they can make a better turntable than the Cruiser. However--go through your couch cushions to see if you can find $20-25 worth of change so you can buy the U Turn Orbit :) :) :)

When I got into the whole record experience I had a ION USB turntable that was giving to me by a friend. Ease of use on that table, to this day was unmatched👍. No setup required. Plug and play. It didn't sound bad. But I got tired of everyone that saw it telling me how it was killing records with it's "tons" of grams on the record surface. Which when measured was 5.2g. I bought the Crossley C6B BK as my first real turntable and immediately hated it. It was a pain in the butt to set up. Literally the tone arm kept floating back towards the rest. Got my level out and shim the feet, leveled completely. Still towards the rest. Check the weight on the stylus. It said 3.5g in the manual. That's where it was set. Frustrated I put it away. Bought a used turntable on OfferUp. Yup, got something completely different. Was the same table. But the picture must have been way older. Duct tape all over the plinth. Oh and this is how I found out TT's don't ship well! Back to the ION. Ahh, ease of use. One day walking through Target with the wife. Sat a black and gold TT. No model number. Said Heyday. As it turns out, (been discontinued) It has a cousin at BestBuy under the Insignia name. The Crossley fails at missing Antiskate adjustments. This one has Antiskate. Now, for $99 it is what it is. But, again. Easier to set up and use. Also, built in Preamp sounds better than the Crossley. So fast forward and I now have 2 systems needlessly setup side by side. A complete Cybernet system with direct drive record player which I fixed up (the disaster I ordered on OfferUp), and a Technics SL-220 I found in my parents basement. Must have been left by my brother. That one was a basket case as well. I fixed that one too. I love both by the way. So back to the Crossley. I hate spending money on things that don't work correct. So I put it across the bench pulled it apart to figure out, WHAT is going on with it. Well, here it is. Tamper proof glue, rubbery stuff, dripped right over the spindle on the pivot of the tone arm. The glue was pulling the arm backwards towards the rest. I scraped that off. Installed a VM95C and set the tracking to 2.0g.. Double checked my setup and gave it a spin. This is when I realized the preamp sucks. I got a Bellari VP29 preamp for Christmas. So I hooked it up to the Technics and put my Pro-Ject Phono Box on the Crossley. Finally, fixed! This got me thinking about the world of Audiophiles and their, It's my answer and only mine mentality. The Crossley I bought was a nightmare. The only thing that kept me listening through this nightmare was the Ion USB. Otherwise, I would never gotten into, or where I am now. My brother now has the Ion USB. Has asked for a recommendation on a cheap table. I told him Fluance RT80 or UTurn Obit Basic. That was my journey. And it truly sucked!

It's important to remember that Crosley (much like RCA, Victrola, etc.) is just a trademark that some corporation owns. The innards of "Crosley" gear can be made by companies like Hanpin or Pro-ject, depending on the model. They don't really make anything, not in the way that used to mean. The name by itself doesn't indicate quality or lack thereof. If the company thought they could make money at it, they could conceivably market Crosley toothbrushes or Crosley motorcycles. As to what to buy, I try to steer people away from cheap all in one systems because a) quality control can be spotty at this level, and b) you can get profoundly better performance for a little more money. For $300 to $500, maybe even less, you can put together a simple stereo setup that, if properly maintained, can give you potentially decades of enjoyment.

I just bought a Crosley C6 after owning a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon for 2 years. On the whole, I enjoy the C6 a lot more. In many ways, they are the same turntable, with the exception of the tone arm. While some aspects of the C6 "feel" cheaper, I can't tell any difference when it comes to performance. And what I like about the C6 is that it's more upgrader friendly. The Debut Carbon is kind of locked into only suiting the Ortofon 2M style carts. Changing the cart is technically feasible, but it's notoriously easy to ruin the lead wires while trying to change it. They did not manufacturer it well to be changed out. For the money, the C6 is an insane value and my favorite turntable I've owned.

I know changing the cartridge on any turntable requires care. That's why I researched it. I saw several posts about it and noticed that people where having issues with it. I even consulted a local electronics business who specializes in repairing broken HiFi equipment. It just seemed like it was going to be a bigger risk trying to change out the cart on a debut carbon than an 'average' turntable.

Crosley has a bad reputation because of the nasty, cheaply made little briefcase "record players" and "nostalgia" products.. And they earned that reputation honestly. However, their component turntables are, in many cases, better than Audio Technica, and at a more affordable price. My vintage Sony from when I was in high school (I paid $400.00 for that and it took me forever to save up the money..that was a LOT of money then) finally went to the great electronic recycling center in the sky. I decided to just buy something cheap until I found something that I could live with. I bought a Crosley T400 NEW for fifty bucks. My first turntable was a Rega Planet, which I bought in 1975. And still have. I soon realized, that the design with three "planets" supporting the record was really miserable, so I had to modify the whole thing heavily. I know I must not put links here, but I am sure, you can find my story about the player at vinylengine. Modifications were: A marble support for the record instead of the planets (actually a cheese platter), a clamp lathed from a VW Beetle piston and a bespoke brass nut fitting on a new center split with threads. Lately I have added a support for the lid, which does not have room to open all up. The original center part of the support had to be lathed down as did the counterweight for the tone arm, as the Orthofon Concorde 20 pickup doesn't weigh a lot. Of course the belt had to be replaced a couple of times over the years, as were the motor supports recently, but other than that this turntable just works. Although I must say, that I am all into the digital age and not the big analog fan, so over the last odd 25 years the use has been sporadic. Sorry! My advise to anybody buying any music equipment is: Buy quality. And if you can't afford it, wait till you can.

Andrew Robinson has a lot of good points, but the few points that stick out is his complaints about the belt being "beneath" *isn't* a cheapness factor. Regas (as squirrelreach said) have the same drive technology and had them for years. When you delve into this price point, the sad part is, entry level has some problems with it. See Frank Zappa: Cheapness on Roxy for a concept, kids - Google it. Starter up people are going to be hard to be sold a $4,000 front end with preamp and cart. However, I've been at this place in life with an Onkyo and a Ortofon LM10 and I thought it was amazing. I was horribly wrong, and I would like people to keep this in mind. You get what you pay for and usually cheap steak isn't going to rouse a lot of pleasure, but it's still steak, and that is sad. My 'beef' with Crossley IS the fact that anyone that makes a suitcase-cheap-record-destroying poopy-squeeker-contraption is going to SELL it to people. Those will soon hate the medium, ruin records and since records go from used to new user, you get the point. It's almost 2020 and we still have people who need to cheapen the music and ruin good stuff in the process. I mean this for the sake of humanity: I hate Crossley and everyone should too. Don't buy them. Save and spend money on this, and real effort. It will change your life.
@vwestlife
@vwestlife 5 жыл бұрын
*Fact check:* Although they are rather chintzy and do sound terrible through the built-in speakers, the suitcase-style record players don't destroy records. That's a myth spread by people like Michael Fremer and VinylEyezz. Actual tests have shown virtually no audible wear after playing a record 50 times on a Crosley Cruiser and only minor wear after 100 plays. So for most people who only play a record a few times before they get tired of it, it's not going to cause any noticeable damage.

Tbf this was more of a review of the stock AT cart that comes with the turntable itself. My mindset is that if it had a counterweight, antiskate, and a standard mount needle headshell, you got a great turntable. The sound relies way more in the quality of the needle/cartridge.

In case you were wondering, this isn’t audiophile equipment. I bought my daughter the Crosley that stands on 4 legs. Looks absolutely bitchin’ in her condo. Sure, it sounds like a nice AM radio. But it’s a retro look so that’s perfect

I guess this is for the people that want a brand new turntable on a budget. $130-150 will buy you any number of vintage used turntables. My 1st was a Technics SL-Q300 that I bought for $50. Works great.

When I started getting into vinyl 2 years ago, i bought the cheap suitcase ones. after some more research and saving, I found the crosley T150 turntable that comes with a lot of good features for a £150 turntable that includes speakers. Recently i swapped out the speakers for the edifier 1280db, and the noticeable change was instant and breath-taking. It proves that you can get good turntables from crosley for a decent price. However tonight i ordered the LP120x, so I'll be interested to see if i can hear any differences between the two players. I wish more vinyl youtubers looked into the T150, I'm curious to know what they think of it

Another thing to consider is what is the price you can get it for? That may not be the same price someone else could get it for and that results in a different one being a better deal. That also changes over time. I've seen many turntable recommendations with my actual price nearly double what they got it for, definitely not a good deal for me at the time.

When I first got into vinyl I didn't even have a turntable, everyone told me not to buy a Crosley Cruiser but I did anyway because I wasn't sure that this hobby was one I fully wanted to pursue as of yet, I wanted to just get something to get a feel of the water understand how all of this worked and then from there I would upgrade my system if I felt like it was something I wanted to do, I'm glad to say that it is something I wanted to do and something I have done and I do not regret buying a Crosley whatsoever even though I no longer use it LOL

Lynchburg Sour Mash got me interested in the Crosley Record player. Yes, I played Records since the 60's. But I abandoned vinyl for digital. But I realized not all vinyl and shellac was digitized. So, I got a Crosley. It was ok, but being used (spoiled) to hi-fi, it wasn't loud enough. So, I bought a Audio Technica turntable. I was then able to play all my vinyl again. And it sounded great. Playing Records is fun. I don't have a hi-fi to play 78's on yet.

Nice video. I now don't hate Crosley turntables as much as I did. We all need to start somewhere. I had one of those super cheap, best buy Sony turntables when I decided to get back into vinyl. That was years ago. I now have a Technics SL 1100a and that's 16years later after I bought the hundred dollar Sony. I bet if the Crosley was around then, itd have been a much better buy. I guess the point is is if it gets you into the hobby, are you going to stay with the hobby and upgrade or get frustrated with records all together? With a super entry level turntables, it can get your feet wet like it did with me and now I'm on the road to audio nirvana with a much better setup and experience.

Good on your daughter and you! I too received a Crosley C6 for Christmas (from my wife). The last time I used a turntable/record player was in the 70s and am perfectly happy with the sound and looks the C6 provides. It looks and sounds high-end to me and everyone that listens to it. I guess that's all that matters. I've been listening to music since the 60's so I should know a little about what music should sound like; especially with all the technological changes since then. Adjusted and tuned correctly, it's a great turntable for the price. Hands down!

What's funny is that the worst table I bought was a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon. It had the worst rumble and hum I've ever heard on a table in my life, by far. And to know that many others had the same problem, and were sticking washers in it...sometimes it's not about brand. Luckily, a vintage Dual 1229 came to the rescue.

I played my miles davis kind of blue, bill evans portrait in jazz and dave brubecks time out. That was in the early sixties. In later years i had oracle, vandersteen, audio research, smeV etc...like you said it starts by enjoying your music and your system!

Manual speed change under the plattter? Hollow platter and cheap felt mat? Simple arm without removable hesdshell? Budget AT3600 cartridge? Sounds just like Rega, audiophile's best entry level turntable, only at half the cost and with the bonus of added phono stage. This Crosley looks and probably sounds better than 95% of the turntables people used only few decades ago.

I have one of the cheap Crosleys. I haven't used it in a long time, but I actually enjoyed it because I could take it outside, relax and just be free!. I even took it to a college class to do a presentation on music one day using some of my Beatle records. Now I have a technics quartz turntable that I've been using for about 5 years straight. I play it almost everyday. Sometimes I go short periods of time not using it, but it's got the same old needle, and all my records still sound really good. I don't worry anymore about 'damaging' records, because the reason I got them is to play the damn things. It's rock n roll you know? Who cares if that record gets worn or whatever, it's just a piece of plastic. Plus, I love the crackly sound. When the records are too new and don't have crackle sounds, I start freaking out man! (Not really).. But don't get me wrong, I do have a very select few records that were handed down to me from my dad that I really try to preserve. Most of them, well all of them really are my Beatle records. But one day, I was feeling groovy and it occurred to me; "Hey, I have a portable record player! I'm going to go play records on it and relax outside!". So I got my 1969 pressing of Sgt. Pepper that my dad gave me and slapped it onto the crosley, and I'll tell you what, it still sounds great on my technics.. In fact, it sounds better now, no joke. But I had fun outside. I also remember my friend gave me some moody blues records, but I already owned three of them. One of them was In Search of The Lost Chord. I got my copy one day for a dollar! But the one my friend gave me was an original, it smelled old and had an older looking font on the disc. Anyways, I took the original copy and slapped it up on the crosely again and I accidentally left it outside and the sun warpped it lol. It cracked too. But it's strange really, because the copy that I cherished more was the one I got for a dollar. If anybody tried to give me a free signed copy of that album, I'd politely refuse and stick with my dollar copy. I don't know why, I had the most fun playing it. But anyways, just like the crosely, you'll be surprised by the many things you can do with products that people often 'avoid'. It's just that simple. I wanted to listen to vinyl outside one day, and guess what? Hey I have this crosely thing i can use! And so I did, and it was good! See? Never over look things just because someone says it's bad, that's my whole point

@@shay2396 Don't stress over it too much. Like I said, we all started somewhere. Back in the late 70s, my stereo was a cheap, all-in-one unit. It didn't even have a cartridge, it had a removable "needle." After awhile I upgraded. But I used it for years and didn't damage any of my records. The problem is a lot of Vinyl and suitcase turntables are a compulsive buy . I see this a lot with youth at one of my local record stores . They bring it home play a few records through it and decide it's not loud enough or sounds like crap . They then proceed to go back to streaming on there cell phones. Most youth these days are clueless about building a stereo . Hardly any home audio stores exist other than bestbuy . I'm a contractor of 20 years , in the past 10 years I hardly see any homes with audio equipment and I see a lot of houses.

I appreciate this video, as well as your previous ones. For Christmas a long time ago my parents got me a Sony home entertainment system (which incidentally had an 8-track player). The joy I felt receiving it, and subsequently buying LPs, was later matched by the shame I felt when I brought this turntable to college. College was my first exposure to audiophile snobbery.
