Good video. Another idea is cross-pegging, that is, hammering 2 pegs into the same guy loop but at different angles, one angled left, the other right. Thankfully, I've only ever had to do this once, when the tail-end of an Atlantic hurricane chose to arrive just after I put up my tent.

Might seem a daft question, but how do you attach the extra guy ropes?

Just tie them on, copy the way the original guys are tied on.
