Six days and 738 km from Moose Jaw to Winnipeg. We visit with Owen in Portage la Prairie. We have milkshakes & ice cream. We watch beavers.

Sorry, but I laughed out loud when that one cloud storm got you. I haven't seen anyone cross railroad tracks at such an angle before, and live.

Welcome to Manitoba, our home province!

Thanks! Manitoba was great in many respects but shoulders wasn't one them. Friendly folks...the plates don't lie. :)

@@Shannon_Marco_Travel other than the Transcanada and #16 most shoulders do not exist and the roads are in need of major maintenance. Cheers.

Can i share this video on my FB? Some people think we are crazy when we cross SK, from AB to MB. I may collect all the clips and photos we took during that trip, so we can share our stories. But it will not like this video that is well made. New follower of yours now Thanks, umbyk

Hi Umbyk! You can share our video on FB if you want. You aren't crazy! It's worth collecting and compiling your photos/videos. It's fun to relive the trip later. Safe riding!

I can really sympathize with your frustration at the lack of paved shoulders on Canadian roads for cyclists. There's an embarrassing lack of commitment to cycling infrastructure in this country.

We agree. The big cities have been good. The provinces' policies about shoulders varies wildly. Manitoba was the worst, though, without a doubt. So far, Ontario has been fabulous. Yesterday, we covered 150km all with some shoulder and most of it with a very wide shoulder. The road was in great shape, too.
