joshua2585 too bad they never learned jiujitsu. They learned judo, its just that they call it jiujitsu bc when they learned judo, it was still called kano jiujitsu. But jiujitsu and bjj are two entirely different martial arts (jiujitsu they still teach you some strikes and the ground fight is not emphasized), and they in fact invented bjj.

What I love about Rener is you truly feel and visualize his passion for the art. He is able to give you direction as well as thought process involved to complete technique. Which in my opinion g8ves the individual the thought process to be able to adapt the technique to their body type and competence. As a white belt I feel I am learning better hearing the principal rather than step by step directions. Love this community

Rener, bro. I drove to Seattle from Dallas, TX for work and were on our way back and we got stuck in Fort Collins. While driving in the Company van up here I seen a sign that said Gracie Jiu jitsu & I immediately looked it up & flipped out that it was your gym. I'm seriously thinking about moving it out here just to train with you guys. I wanted to check it out but it said not open until 4pm and we should already be on our way to Dallas by then.

If you place your wrist underneath to set up to trap his hand, do you not give him one of your bases ? Surely if he bridged to the same side of the hand he’s grabbed, you’d have nothing to post on? I’m a beginner, just wanted to understand this fully 👍🏼 love the videos

Hi Rener, this video is a great review for those who attended the seminar. The videotaping is not allowed, so this one is very helpful. Which lesson of the Master Cycle this technique appears in? It would be really nice if it was made available for all registered GU members for a month. The x-guard lesson has been an eye opener. In any case, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and inspiration. Keep up the fire! Much respect!

the key words for me were "grab the collar" what i'd like to know is firstly what if the person on the bottom doesn't have a collar and secondly is there a version of this or is it possible to use this when you're a mma fighter during a fight?
@Tylar1229 жыл бұрын
+Twisted Gemini Tv A cross choke is gi reliant....If you're an mma fighter and asking if you can do lapel chokes in an mma match you need a new sport, friend.
@sanch569 жыл бұрын
I forgot who said it, but I heard the "cross choke", as Rener calls it, is actually called the "cobra strike". I don't know. The guy who calls it that is a well-known Jiu-Jitsu black belt who's got a lot of stuff on youtube. He sometimes has a rhino patch on the back of his gi, kind of an older white guy. Some people out there might know who I'm talking about.
