I loved the magical creatures mystery calendar. I've never seen it before and its turning out lovely. Your HAED is pretty, too. See you next time.

Your projects are beautiful Carolyn! I just finished my 6th Christmas stocking from the Better Homes and Gardens designs. The first four were stitched 1992-1995 for every member of my family. This year my daughter requested one for my son-in-law and one for my grandson. Can't wait to see yours finished! Hugs, Suzette

Thanks Suzette - I would love to stitch more..... hopefully I can get this one fixed to a standard I'm happy with and maybe I'll start another one for next Christmas. Your family are very lucky to have you stitch one for each of them. Thanks for watching :) x

The blue dragon is really amazing, stunning piece of stitching. I'm in awe of how quickly you can stitch a piece of this size and with other projects on the go too! Great job and the colour changes for the graduate piece, it looks really pretty.

Thanks for sharing! Love the Graduate sampler. Your daughter should love that. And I'm always enamored by your HAED dragon. Because of following you and watching your progress on IG I signed up for the HAED SAL. I will try several firsts with that SAL - first HAED (Mini Teddy Bear Tree); first parking attempt; first time to grid my fabric.

Because of me? Awwww that's so lovely...... thank you! I wish you the absolute best of luck. I'm no expert, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I hope to record my parking technique very soon - hopefully it might be of use to somebody. Thanks for watching ;) x

I am amazed at the progress you have made with your HAED dragon - it is truly magical - and nothing like a beautiful dragon to keep your son company and watch over him as he makes his journey through life. I too, would be interested to hear about your tricks and tips for metallic thread. After watching others here talk about the Save the Stitches black work sampler I have taken a deep breath and downloaded all the sheets. I love the look of black work and have decided that 2015 will be THE year and of course there is nothing like jumping in at the deep end...
@TheFlosstubeStitcher10 жыл бұрын
Haha I ALWAYS jump in the deep end..... but NEVER intentionally LOL! I guess my brain thinks I need the challenge!! I hope to get the video recorded this week. KZbin has been a pain and our terrible internet connection doesn't make things any easier. Thank you for your kind words, and thanks so much for watching :) x

Love your Dragon HAED, it was nice to hear you talk about your journey with it as I always enjoy seeing your updates on IG. The magical creatures calendar is so cute! I've always thought it must be really annoying for Aussie stitchers with seasonal designs, someone needs to design one with Christmas on the beach lol!
@TheFlosstubeStitcher10 жыл бұрын
Haha Christmas on the beach, with a bunch of sunburnt Aussies LOL! Now that would look interesting! To me Christmas has always been about snow..... and especially snowmen! Thanks for watching Amanda, and happy stitching :) x

Beautiful work! I would love to learn how to stitch on linen or even weave and need to learn the parking method. I am so secure with the blocks for counting and that is why I have not switched fabrics. Gonna do what you did and research! Thanks for sharing!
@TheFlosstubeStitcher10 жыл бұрын
I began stitching linen only because the chart I was stitching at the time suggested it - and I rarely make changes to charts. I found it quite easy to pick up, but then I've always been quite good at following written directions. Now we have google and KZbin.... I'm sure you'll be fine - and you'll never know if you don't try. I just love the antique look that linen provides and also the fact that the holes are less visible. Parking is great! I love it sooo much - but I wouldn't recommend it for linen, or for designs other than HAED-type designs where there are large blocks of colour, because you don't want the parked threads trailing down the back of your work where there are to be no stitches. I am hoping to video my parking technique tomorrow (I was meant to do it today, but life kept getting in the way!), so hopefully I'll be able to help you out with some tips and advice. Regardless, I am a strong believer in finding a technique that works for you - there is no right or wrong way, there is only YOUR WAY. Thanks for watching, and happy stitching :)

I will get the nerve up soon to do it. Baby steps for me, LOL!

I will but I am the type of person who learns by watching so I will be on the hunt for a video of someone stitching on linen or even weave. Hopefully it will work out for me.

Theresa Feeney I totally understand that Theresa. I will be doing my Mirabilia on even weave, so I'll try to do a video of that when the SAL starts next year :)

I'm so behind on flosstube but wanted to comment and say that dragon looks amazing stitched up!! I'm normally not a dragon person, but that is really vibrant and detailed. Also luved the stocking!! I had never seen that one before
@TheFlosstubeStitcher8 жыл бұрын
+The Springfield Stitcher Thank you so much! I'm not normally a dragon lover either, but this one spoke to both my son and myself and had significant meaning. Since stitching him, I've actually become quite a fan of dragons :) The stocking is probably the hardest stitch I've ever attempted in my 20+ years of stitching. So many colours and fractional stitches.... but I will get it finished one day (I'm very determined!). Thank you for watching and happy stitching :) x

Beautiful work your dragon is so amazing, I to will be restarting my HAED as didn't like the way my stitches were with 25 count so it will be a toss up between 18 count or 28 count happy stitching xx
@TheFlosstubeStitcher10 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that - it's such a pain to restart. I absolutely LOVE 18 count for HAED and the only reason I'm trying the next one on 28 count is to try it with tent stitch, in the hope I can complete it faster. I'm very impatient and with all the other WIPs I'll be attempting next year, a quicker HAED will be very welcome. I'd love to hear which one to try and what your opinion is. Thanks for watching ;) x
@crossstitchbutton10 жыл бұрын
I have no favourite 28 count,( Brittney is a good one) which I may use in one of them but I will use it because I want to use full stitches with two threads, I tried using one thread on the 25 count but I am so used to using two threads and full stitches in my work. It's hard to change an old dog, hope you find one you like happy stitching xx
@TheFlosstubeStitcher10 жыл бұрын
crossstitchbutton Yes I prefer two threads also, starting with the loop method. It's very difficult to change - i agree.

It is so odd to hear someone way they "love America". I appreciate that, since I live in the US. I adore your work and love your videos. This one has inspired me to see if I can do a mystery stitch along as I have never done one. I was interested to hear your HAED experience as I did the same exact thing. Started on the 25, could not make it work, and changed to 18 count. I have only done a couple of squares, and have NO experience in parking so I find that inspiring also. Thanks for the video.
@TheFlosstubeStitcher10 жыл бұрын
Oh Suzy, you have no idea how much I LOVE America. I think I must have lived there in a previous life or something. It has been a lifelong dream to visit and I'm so glad I had the opportunity, but all it did was fuel my love even more. We often hear in Aus that American's are rude and arrogant - we found that to be the complete opposite!!! Everyone we met was so genuinely lovely and had manners beyond anyone here in Australia! They could certainly learn a thing or two from you guys. I hope to return very soon to enjoy even more of your beautiful country :) The mystery stitch has been so much fun, but I told myself I wouldn't do next year's because of all the other SALs I've committed to..... that is until I just found out they're doing a Zodiac Calendar! I simply must do that. So if that topic interests you, I suggest you check it out. I don't know the details yet - someone just messaged me about it. But I'm assuming there will be info on the CloudsFactory website. Yes it was quite disappointing with the HAED start - I wonder how many others fell into that trap. 18 count is 100% better. I'm nervous about trying the 28 count as a tent stitch because I love the 18 count so much, but I figure if MrsMilkyBarKid uses it, it must be good :) I hope to video my parking technique tomorrow, so hopefully I can provide you with some more info and tips of how I tackle it. If you do try it though, please remember, there is no right or wrong way - only YOUR WAY, and what works best for you. Play around with it, but above all have fun :) Thank you so much for watching, and happy stitching :) x

I've been following you on Instagram for a while (I'm serukis on there!) but only just got around to checking out your channel! Sorry! D: I love your WIPs, especially the HAED! It's so awesome to see all the detail in that piece, and it looks wonderful on 18 count aida! :D The Cloudsfactory Fantasy Creatures calendar is great too - I think my favourite square is the satyr! :) And I love the colours you chose for Bless the Graduate. Such pretty purples!

That's ok Emily - there are sooooo many videos now..... I'm struggling to keep up! I'm super happy with the coverage on the 18count and so happy I changed the 25count - I'm certain it would have ended up as a UFO. Thanks so much for watching - and happy stitching :) x
