I loved the video! A LOT! It means so much to see how happy you are with all your new stitchy toys. 😄 Yes, you're welcome to show the pattern in a later video if you like. If not, that's fine, too. It was just such a great blessing to see how excited you were and to know how much fun you'll be having, trying everything out! I know these things have been a game-changer for me, and I know you'll enjoy stitching and crafting that much more now that you have them. 😄 Happy birthday all over again! 😄 And Happy, Happy, Happy Creating!

I do also like the thread magic for kit flosses that leave a lot to be desired. Some kit floss is fine, some of it is dreadful. While I have been known to swap out kit flosses for the closest dmc I can find, usually it isn’t worth the time and money. While I rarely use thread magic on DMC (except metallics) it can be very much a game changer if not necessary for some of the kit flosses. For example, I have a cheap kit set I found on “the river” of 3 printed patterns on 11ct Aida, that will end up being a pretty tryptic of flowers each about 7x15 inches. I picked it up to have an “easy project” all set and ready to go in my big tote bag that I tend to take with me on long days when I need all the things. Occasionally on such days I find myself stuck waiting around for 20-30 minutes for one thing or another and I’d like to do something better for my mental health with the time than just doom scroll, but I also don’t want to have to fuss with a pattern, and highlighters, and reading glasses, and 50+ colors of floss. So the idea was a cross stitch project that I could pick up and put down almost immediately with no fuss and be able to just zone out and stitch along except when changing colors. If I remember right the whole kit of 3 was like $12 USD. But at that price the quality of the floss and Aida isn’t great, so a little thread magic makes it sooo much easier and more pleasant to work on.
@TheGiddyStitcher5 ай бұрын
Really good point! I definitely have a few of the cheaper threads lying around and found them especially difficult with hand embroidery, now you have me wondering if the conditioner could solve that problem or at least make it more bearable 🤔

Yesss, those lights blew my mind a bit, such a simple little thing really but it just never occurred to me something like that might exist. Replaceable batteries, too! Thread weavers are now officially living in the always-with-me notions pouch, so I have absolutely no excuse for falling back into bad habits :D

Me watching this video.."ohh add to basket....that looks good to, add to basket....and that..."😂 I couldn't find any tail end weavers in the UK though, I will need to do a more in depth search for those 😊 I usually end up having to half weave the needle through and then re-threading it as I leave the yarn shorter than the needle so it unthreads when I try to weave the ends in, I do not like starting a new thread for 1-2 final stitches.

I use a Trolley Needle, which is a combination needle and thimble-like device. Not sure where I got mine, but I've had it for decades and don't know what I'd do without it. Because it slides on your finger like a thimble, it's easier to use. What it does is allow you to smooth out your stitches as they go down through the hole. There are plenty of KZbin videos to show you how to use both laying tools and trolley needles. Have fun stitchin!

So helpful! Thank you! ❤ I’m a new stitcher and have already managed to accumulate many tools and patterns. 😅I’m confused by the phrase “ stitching 2 over 2” or “1 over 2” and what it means (number of floss threads over number of squares?) Any recommendations on videos or resources that explain?
@TheGiddyStitcher5 ай бұрын
Welcome to the hobby! And congratulations on the rapidly expanding kit, haha! You've pretty much got it down, 2 over 2 would be two strands, with one stitch using up two squares of the fabric. 2 over 1, two strands, one square. 1 over 2, one strand, two squares, etc etc. But if you want more detail on different fabric counts and how to generally stitch on them I made this video a while back that might possibly be useful, if memory serves it includes a scribbled diagram to illustrate the above 😅 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoiUemmcedV5Z68

Oohh I recently got beeswax and I'm not sure it's doing much for me (although it's winter here so not sure if it just needs to be warmed a little 🤔)... so I'm keen to know how you find it and if there are any tips/tricks! What a lovely gift and congrats on the new lamp 😉
@mylifewithmarmalade46246 ай бұрын
I like the thread magic better for exactly that reason. Beeswax can be a challenge to keep at just the right temp. If it gets too hot it’ll make a mess, too cold and you get negligible coverage on the threads. I have a friend who swears by beeswax, and keeps it in her pocket or tucked between her thighs while stitching to keep it warm. Personally I don’t find either conditioner is worth the trouble if you’re using good quality floss and Aida and non metallics. But if you are using metallic threads or you’re working a kit with some not great quality floss and Aida it can make a huge difference.
@Lily.Mac566 ай бұрын
@mylifewithmarmalade4624 oh, good tips! Yes I've given up with beeswax for cross stitch as I use DMC and aida :) I've been persevering for embroidery purposes though as my linen is less forgiving

Where can I find those little round lights?!
@stitch26595 ай бұрын
Hi, there! I found them at Lowes, in the flashlight and lantern section. If you don't have a Lowes near you, you may be able to look up "Lux Pro" and find them that way. They have rechargeable headlamps and all kinds of lighted things that come in really handy! I have two of the rechargeable headlamps, too, as our apartment is kind of dark, so I use one and have the other on to charge so it's ready when I need it. A lot of their products come with batteries too, which is really nice. 😄 The button lights each come with their own batteries and the bottoms screw off so you can replace them, which is nice, too.

Hi there! I got it at Hobby Lobby, but I also did a quick search today and found that the manufacturer ("Everything Mary") appears to have their own website, and may also be found on Amazon, eBay and Facebook. Apparently several retailers also carry their products. They have several matching accessories that can be purchased separately too, though those don't seem to have cross stitch-able panels on them like the zippered pouches do. Hope this helps! Take care, and Happy Stitching! 😄
