Will a q snap on any kind of stand work?

One of my absolute must have is a telescoping magnet stick… it’s much easier to find needles 😅 Also it just occurred to me last week that I could add magnet to the base of my iPad holder to essential have a giant needle minder.

On the thread conditioner. I used to use the beeswax circles in the plastic containers but I eventually just ended up buying beeswax and making my own little square pieces. It’s saved me sooo much money and I personally think it makes a huge difference.

Go ahead and use the clamps on your Q-Snap. I do and, yes, they do leave ridges in the canvas, but with a big enough Q-Snap you don't have to worry about them being close to your stitching. I love both cross-stitch and canvas work/needlepoint. Have fun!!!

Oh Michell, so sorry your experience with covid was just like mine - a long said for normal heath. It took me a year using EXPENSIVE Trelegy everyday (steroid inhalant) before I can finally skip a few days of treatments and still breath normally.

Ohhh I'm so late for this hype, but just wanted to express that I loved this! As a eurovision nerd (typed "neurovision" at first, I guess that's accurate as well... 😂) I got so, so excited - even months later. So let this be your sign to maybe make some ESC content this year as well! 🎉

They're "magnetic cable ties", if you search that term you'll find them all over Amazon and eBay and probably elsewhere too. Very handy little things!

If you have to frog your tunisian crochet project, I can assure you as someone who has in fact been crocheting in all varieties for decades, it's very normal to have to restart a project, or just frog back to a mistake. Your tension will be better the second time! ^_^ The first time was just practice! :D Or, if it fits, and is A Functional Object with only a few mistakes, show it to two non-crafty friends and if they can't see the problem don't worry about it. That's what works for me, anyway! ^_^

Oh I'm certainly no stranger to the frog. But picking something with 220sts per row was probably a bad choice because I was about 12 hours in before noticing anything was wrong 😅 Still, we live and learn.

Sooo... if this was two years ago, how does it look now? Did you ever frog and ball those "to be frogged" knitting projects? Is it still tidy? What have you learned from the system, what have you changed, and what have you kept? Update please?

1993 I started a large Cherished Teddy Nativity Scene project for my then, 9 year old daughter. Over the years because she nagged me I took it out, put it away, started over countless times but holding a hoop gave me cramps. Three years ago she asked for this stand for Christmas. She loved it and suggested that I get one and maybe I'll finish the nativity project. I did, started new again and got it done the next Christmas for her gift. I'll be honest, the Lowery, along with the water erasing pens for grids and the q snaps were game-changers. The stand especially! I got the longer bar for both of us and truly because of this stand have started stitching again. Reading the comments on the corner clamp I need to look into it...

Happy New Year! Ours has not started in the best of ways but will hopefully get better. Good luck with the puzzle competition. I'm hoping to be able to balance all the cross stitch starts I want to do this year with learning new crochet stitches and making a baby blanket or two.

I'm also pondering starting a new craft, but I can't decide what. Mum was an artist and I'd love to get back into printmaking but currently don't have the time. Booo adulting! My main goal is still that triangle shawl, just need to figure out how I'm going to swing that. Would it be weird if I said I'm proud of you for signing up for the puzzle comp? Too late now, I've said it. Well done you!

You don't need to wrap the thread around a piece of card - just take the whole length out of the skein, fold in half, fold in half again, fold in half a third time and you have 8 one-metre lengths. If you want shorter than a metre but longer than half a metre, folding a thread in thirds or fifths isn't difficult either. Whichever way you choose, what you're not going to end up with is a little bit left over or the last length being a bit short - your cut length will be an exact fraction of the eight metre starting skein and all pieces will end up identical.
