I believe in the young earth model, but I dont think its necessary for salvation and I really hate seeing people bash eachother over it, calling eachother uneducated and names, its very disrespectful (Im not saying Turek and Ross did that here, im just saying in general). Both sides have arguments, and I just personally think the young earth model holds up better than the old earth model, but people can disagree and thats fine, I just hate all the slanders thrown out to the other sides. Anyways, for anyone interested in learning about the young earth model, id recommend you go watch some of "Standing For Truth"s videos and live streams. Have a great day!

No it is not. Young Earth views are not in the Bible. Most scientists are not evil men out to hurt you. Young Earth views are from men who put out false claims. All YEC leaders teach if you are not with us (YEC), you are an atheist evolutionist. Falsely claiming there are only two world views YEC and atheist evolutionist. (Thus Old Earth creationism is not even real). Please read your Bible, all of it, not just Genesis and pray. Day is not the same as 24 hours, not in the past and not today. The earth is not about 6,000 years old and the Bible does not teach this. Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This tells us that the 7th day Each believer are to enter into day 7. Also there no "evening and morning" for the 7th day. As day 7 as not ended. Biblical Hebrew has a limited vocabulary, with fewer words compared to other languages, such as English or Spanish. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context. Day - yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, but the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans thus literally is: Sunrise to sunset Sunset to next sunset Time period of unspecified length. (long time span ). We use the word day the same today: In my grandfather’s day cars did not go very fast. I work the day shift. (Both are not 24 hours) Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains". Gen 2:4 “in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens” referring to the whole time of the six days, The events of day 6 can not have happened in 24 hours. Creationism does not equal young Earth. There are many Old Earth creationists. Romans 1:20" For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Psalm 19 1-4: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. Biblical Hebrew has a smaller vocabulary than English. In biblical Hebrew, there is no word for universe. Instead, the Hebrew phrase that is translated “the heavens and the earth” is used to refer to the universe-the entirety of physical reality. The phrase is used thirteen times in the Old Testament, always referring to all matter, energy, space, and time in the universe. We now know that event was 13.787 ±0.020 billion years. This has been checked, proven and measured with many tools and they all agree. It is not just space that came to be 13.787 billion years ago, but time also. The universe is finite and expanding. Just as the Bible stated thousands of years ago. The theory of general relativity: the universe began at a “singularity” (Big Bang) where all matter, energy, space, and time came into existence at an infinitely small point and expanded outward from there. Space-time Theorems recognizes the union of space and time. General relativity has been proven to be true. The universe has mass, and the universe is expanding. Thus the universe had a singularity/Big Bang/beginning.

I strongly believe the Earth is young. When they find evidence of young dinosaurs (bones with soft tissue) they say "we don't know how it was preserved for hundreds of millions of years" instead of "perhaps we were wrong about the age of dinosaurs".

The tissue is not fresh by any means. If they were young like young earth creationists propose, we'd find aDNA from them like we do Neanderthals. Aside from that, the tissues themselves are remnants of the tissues they were. The collagen is heavily degraded and chemically altered. The red blood cells aren't red blood cells like you have, but preserved shapes of the toughest material found in the hemoglobin, iron and other proteins. The blood vessels are in a similar vein (pun not intended) to the blood cells, in which they are the preserved shape of them. For the vessels and collagen, you can't even find them without first dissolving the fossil and treating them to a chemical bath to extract the material. As for how they are preserved, tissues like these are inside a hard calcium shell already, bone. With crosslinking and the right environments, the tissue can be preserved for millions of years. This isn't even touching on how radiometric dates still give age ranges that are millions of years old, which are derived independent of the fossils.

I think it's because most doctrines have their basis in Genesis. Once you compromise on the first thing why not compromise on the rest? It starts at accepting old ages, then death before sin. What then is the point of salvation? People who reject the literal translation often say the flood wasn't real either. Then it's if evolution is true then maybe gender is on a spectrum. For many people accepting these doctrines is the first step away from christianity.

It’s all vanity. There’s nothing new under the sun. That's not the God I worship. I worship a God who created the physical laws but is not bound by them. Right. If God wanted a scientific description for how He went about creation He would’ve had a scientist write the account. The Bible was meant for one thing; to point to the God of the gods and the Lord of the lords, Jesus Christ. He is the focus of the entire narrative, not how God chose to create creation. Young earth, old earth doesn’t matter. What Christ did is what matters.

But an Adam who was created by the dust of the earth I wish they’d address that day 2 was never called good- it just wasn’t. I fully understand that all of creation was declared good. Protestant Christianity, particularly the values of English Puritanism and German Pietism, played a significant role in the development of modern science. They encouraged the systematic study of nature to understand God's creation; essentially, the idea that studying the natural world was a way to learn about God's design. Almost every university and college founded in the U.S. and Europe until the mid-19th century and many afterwards were founded by some Christian organization. The degree of control exercised by these varied, but it is safe to say that no college or university has been unaffected by the Christian background of the university. Christian scholars and scientists have made noted contributions to science and technology fields as well as medicine, both historically and in modern times. Some scholars state that Christianity contributed to the rise of the Scientific Revolution. Between 1901 and 2001, about 56.5% of Nobel prize laureates in scientific fields were Christians. Most scientific and technical innovations prior to the Scientific Revolution were achieved by societies organized by Christian traditions. Ancient Christian scholars pioneered individual elements of the scientific method. Historically, Christianity has been and still is a patron of sciences. It has been prolific in the foundation of schools, universities and hospitals, and many Christian clergy have been active in the sciences and have made significant contributions to the development of science.

Hugh Ross' exegesis is so bad. At every turn, he avoids the simple, plain-reading interpretation of Genesis 1 through 11 and takes a rather prideful interpretation that jumps through hoop after hoop and that puts the reader in pretzels as he deciphers what God "really" meant. Prideful all the way. Numerous passages in the Old and New Testament box the reader in to the young-earth position. Theistic evolutionists will see this if only they'd stop conceding to the religion of evolutionism, if only they'd count it joy to be ridiculed by atheistic evolutionists, by this world, which Satan controls, knowing the wisdom of God is foolishness to man and the wisdom of man is foolishness to God.

People are often misunderstood for what they actually meant by young earth theory. The universe including the earth could be very old however life on earth is relatively young. I believe that the bible describes an earth day (24h) in a particular fashion to underline the fact that indeed it is a short time when we read “And there was evening, and there was morning - the first day.” and so on. I believe that it is more relevant how old the human race is then how old the universe is. I think the bible provides plenty of reasons why the human race is about 6k years old. It’s amazing how accurate such equipment becomes when the narrative is switched. That said, radiometric dating acknowledged to be highly inaccurate due to presumptions that can never be known. C14 is the most accurate up to about 3000 years but falls off beyond that. One fact about C14 dating is that it can only measure to a max age of about 50,000 years before it half lifes to zero. The only fossils carbon dated are less than 60,000 or 50,000 years old. Diamonds are known to not be pure carbon, so similar to coal, they have nitrogen that may be converted into C14. Anyone that wants to put any weight into Genesis 1 and 2 needs to find the last Supernatural event. Then afterwards everything can be accepted to comply with the normal rules of the laws of the universe. That being said, grammatically, there is no reason whatsoever to assume that the only supernatural event took place in Genesis 1:1. Ross' comments about E=mc2 is interesting, but it simply doesn't apply in the case of Supernatural events.

One of the worst parts about this discussion was Ross' presentation of what young earth creationists would say as a rebuttal to various arguments. At every turn, Ross, whom I presume has debated many young earth creationists, either mischaracterized or straw-manned the young earth creationist position. For example, no young earth creationist believes the first two verses of the Bible, when the Hebrew is correctly translated and exegeted, could possibly support the gap theory, the belief in billions of years between the two verses. If Turek wants his viewers to accurately understand the young earth creationist position, he should ask a young earth creationist, like Dr. Marcus Ross (a.k.a., the other Ross) or Dr. Robert Carter, among many, many others. (Would he ask an atheist to explain any Christian position?) Why leave his viewers with a woefully inaccurate understanding of what young earth creationists believe and the solid biblical and scientific reasons why they believe it? I tend to believe Genesis 2:4 refers to the first day only which becomes clear if you read verse 2:5. Regardless of that, many translations actually refer to the first day as an ordinal number in Genesis 1:5 where the hebrew word actually translates to "one day". That to me indicates something like "definition one day" based on earths rotation. The rest of the days are written as ordinal numbers and you would have to ignore the definition in 1:5 to account for more time. After all, let's not forget our God is a God of miracles and I don't necessarily see a problem with us not being able to explain everything about God and his creation using scientific means. The Bible is full of miracles that cannot be explained by our knowledge of science etc. I liked this video a lot even though I tend to lean more towards a young earth for now, not to deny the evidence also points to an old earth and universe. Thank you Frank and Hugh for this insightful podcast. I really enjoy listening to these types of topics. God bless you for your amazing work.

Part 2/2 I know Eschatology is a hot topic but for me it's one I've studied and taught since I was 15, 30+ years ago. I know everyone has their opinion of what is correct and when Jesus will return and I also have my thoughts. This is also not a salvation issue. However, it is important because the LORD has dedicated over 1/3 of Scripture to it. the 2nd Coming event is mention in over 150 chapters of Scripture and there are more than 500 prophecies surrounding the event. But most of all this topic reveals who Jesus is. Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants Now we aren't supposed to start in Revelation. Revelation assumes we are very familiar with the rest of Scripture. However, instead of focusing on the when and how, let's focus a bit on the "Why"? Why does Jesus return? Why is this His perfect plan, in other words what does it accomplish? What Christians need to recognize is that the LORD doesn't care if we have 10 Eschatological views, or 100, He has 1. He will unfold the future His way. What we believe, what I believe is irrelevant. What I try to do is try to bring clarity and let the future unfold and if I'm correct, praise the LORD. If I'm wrong Praise the LORD, then we can eliminate at least 1 view. I hope you can see from Part 1 that Eschatology begins in Genesis not in Revelation. There will be an end of the age. The end of the dominion of mankind when Jesus returns. This we know. So there is a finite amount of time. There is an appointed time to the LORD's return. Will we know the exact day and hour? No. However. The Bible is very specific. It's like if I said "I'm going to my parents place for Christmas dinner this year but I don't know if it'll be on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Do I know the exact day or hour? No. Have I ruled out the other 363 days of the year? Yes. This is what Jesus does in Matthew 24:36. In Genesis 1, GOD says 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” So why does Jesus return and end the dominion of mankind? Matthew 24 (NLT) 21 For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again. 22 In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. Why Jesus returns is because we as a species bring ourselves to the brink of self-extinction. But verse 22 goes on. " But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones." In Luke 17 Jesus says 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. What was it like in the days of Noah? Genesis 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” What was it like in the Days of Lot? Genesis 18 when GOD told Abraham that HE was going to destroy the cities Abraham said 23 And Abraham came near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? 25 Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” 26 So the Lord said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.” Abraham continues to negotiate it down to 10 righteous so the cities may be spared. 32 Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?” And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.” So despite the many sins of Sodom and Gomorrah the LORD would have spared them for the sake of 10 righteous people. Now we see there weren't 10 righteous so His wrath came. So where do we begin? In Mark 11 Jesus curses the Fig Tree which is the Jews in Israel (Deuteronomy 8:7-8, Hosea 9:10, Jeremiah 24:3-8) and the Fig Tree dies. We see destruction come on Israel from 70-135AD. Mark 13 Jesus says the Fig Tree will bloom again (1948) just before His return. GOD owns the Land of Israel, always has, always will. Lev 25:23, John 3:1-2, Isaiah 45:3-4, Psalm 121:4, etc. The Jews are His guests. Lev 25:23. Jesus said in John 13:19 Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am." The LORD says in Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’- 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. Reality is the test for Bible Prophecy. And trust me GOD is not subtle you know what to look for. Now I am not here to be American centric, or Western centric., however, let's say the West crumbles and goes under, bankrupt, defeated in wars, who would then bring the Gospel to the world? Notice how the West is adopting a culture of death and no election can fix that. We are seeing views of death all over the world. Declining fertility, declining desire for kids, declining hormone levels and sexual drive, euthanasia and abortion is more convenient and accessible in the West. We're seeing s*icides, crime, increasing. And if we are about to go into a deep recession/depression then these things will only increase. Then we have nations preparing for war, and world war. Much of the world sees world war coming in 2026-2027. I could give a long list for this one. This world as we know it will pass away to where Jesus will restore it later on. But first humanity is going to wreck it. And the biblical narrative is we will do it with war. And The LORD says in Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Jut like Noah's day and Lot's day humanity does something or some things to bring the wrath of the LORD. In Ezekiel 38:18 “And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face. 19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel,..." In Ezekiel 38:5 one of the nations is Persia that comes. Persia is Iran. What many Christians forget today is that Israel isn't about the Jews. The Jews are his guests in the land. Israel and Jerusalem are about GOD. Lev 25:23, Joel 3:1-2, Jeremiah 24, Ezekiel 37:21-23, Isaiah 45:3-4, Psalm 121:4, 2 Chronicles 6:7-8, etc. So right now Jihadist extremists are praying and vowing to destroy Israel forever for the glory of Allah. So we should pray and support Israel not because we agree with the politics or whatever but because it' GOD's land and His city that are being treated by followers of a false god. When they come to destroy Israel, the LORD will intervene, save Israel and destroy its enemies. And history will forever be changed. Now Scripture tells us because of His blood we are not destined for His wrath. John 3:36, Romans 5:8-9, 1 Thess 5:8-11. The LORD says not to fear. Not to panic. Not to be shaken. I know it's hard. He tells us so we will know in advance and when we see it our faith will be strengthened. Matthew 24:. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass..." I believe in the Rapture of the Church John 14:1-6. I believe before His wrath comes He will take all those who trust in Him to Heaven where He's been preparing a place for us. However, if I am wrong, I don't think I am, but if I am, I know a little of what all come and my faith won't be shaken. It'll be hard but I'm with Jesus all the way. Our KING is Coming so pray for the lost, share Jesus and trust His plan, whatever comes, trust in Him not in the things of this world. Take care.

The problem with old earth, creation belief is that then you run into trouble of how it was created. Meaning you start taking on evolutionary ideas. I mean, how long did it take for the bees (gen 1:12) to finally pollinate the plants (gen 1:24)? Thousands of years? How long did it take for the grand canyon to appear? Turek can say it ridiculous all he wants but somehow there is a huge gap there. Or as per usual there is sn argument of convenience. Well i believe in evolutionary thoughts up until i conveniently need to believe in special creation. Then turek has to explain the formation humans. Did it take thousands of years for neatherdals, hominids, etc. until you get the first human?

I think people get earth and age confused. Age not meaning birthday age but a specific period of time. Earth as the actual planet earth 🌍 could the earth have been formed millions or billions of years ago like the other planets 🪐? I think it’s ok to study and debate this subject but don’t spend to much time because when you face Jesus Christ at the end one question you will not hear is “ how old is the earth” and answer correctly because your salvation depends on it.

The common argument is that the genealogies are telescoped, meaning they reference prominent lineage but not each and every father son. Begat in Hebrew can also be used to refer to an ancestor, and not necessarily a father and son. The bible has multiple genealogical passages, and some with significant differences. This could be explained if they are describing prominent descendants as lineage markers, as oppose to direct father son relationships.

As to the flood, again there could be flexibility in the Hebrew word for Earth, which also is used to describe land, area, territory, etc. I've read Hugh Ross take the position that all mankind was wiped out in the flood, but it was localized to the land area that humans occupied at the time. Many old earthers don't think a global, worldwide flood occurred, but that it is reflective of a particular region.

If I look at the theistic evolutionist position from a non-Christian perspective, a handful thoughts immediately spring to mind: Imagine being a Christian who claims his or her god is a god of love and of life, yet this god -- who is love, who is life -- uses millions of years of disease, disability, and death as the primary means by which He creates. Imagine being a Christian who claims his god is the Word, yet when He speaks literal words, His creation waits millions, if not billions, of years before it gets around to obeying Him rather than believing when He speaks literal words (e.g., "Lazarus, come out!"; to the wind and to the waves "Quiet! Be still!") His creation immediately obeys Him, demonstrating His undeniable power. The minimal amount of time between when God speaks and when His creation obeys is critical because it proves attribution. Likewise, imagine being a Christian who has seen throughout scripture every miracle necessarily happens quickly, if not immediately and rapidly, in order to prove attribution yet believes Creation, arguably God's greatest miracle, happened over the course of billions of years, casting doubt on who or what is responsible for said event. Imagine being a Christian who believes God waited thousands of years from the giving of Genesis, until an army of prideful, God-hating atheists came along, to reveal the correct interpretation of Genesis 1 to 11 rather than give Genesis in a way the Israelites would've immediately understood it, as literal history. Indeed, in the Hebrew calendar, the current year is 5785. If the Jews, from the time of Moses, always believed the earth was old, why isn't the current year 5785000000? Imagine being a Christian who believe his god will create a wonderful new heaven and a wonderful new earth in a second glorious act of Creation yet believes His first act of Creation, Creation 1.0, was a world filled with disease, disability, and death; with predation, violence, and suffering; with trial and error; with chaos. Where's the glory in that? If that's the kind of world this god creates initially and calls "very good," I fear for what's next. Won't heaven be hell? Won't there then be two hells? Christians, know thy God. Which is more impressive? A Creation week that purposefully takes six literal days, or a Creation "week" that takes billions of years? Which shows off, if you will, God's omnipotence more? Second, which is more in keeping with all you know about the character of God? A God, who is the Word, who speaks things into existence by His very utterances, a loving God who created all things from the beginning beautifully, wonderfully, with life and longevity, with idyllic near perfection or a God whose first creative act, which He pronounced "good" and indeed "very good," was to create a violent, chaotic world filled with disease, disability, and death? Christians, please.

A normal person would not read Genesis and get millions of years. Save the mental gymnastics. The only people who struggle with Genesis as-written are worried about squaring it with the dogma of evolution. It is needlessly complicating something that was written plainly.

That’s a great point. The average person who reads Genesis chapter 1 is going to take it literal; as 24 hour days. I believe it’s literal. I think the fact that evolution and the Big Bang theory have been taught so long as fact that now even some Christians are accepting it as true. When you start saying death was here before sin and the fall of man; that just doesn’t line up with God’s character. And to my knowledge OEC believe that death among animals was already happening before the fall of man from sin; and that predation will continue in the new heaven and new earth. And that there wasn’t a global flood. But God made a covenant based on the global flood that he wouldn’t do it again to destroy everything. The rainbow is a sign for that covenant. I just believe OEC theory or interpretation attacks and undermines God’s character.

I don't think the layman is aware that YE creationism was popularized by 7th Day Adventist, George McCready Price, a self taught geologist. Who was greatly influenced by Ellen White, again a 7th Day Adventist, who was a prophetess and had visions brought on by temporal lobe epilepsy from age 9. White "..claimed to have a vision of the world's creation where the days described early in Genesis...were [the same as the] 24-hour periods used to count days today." (Pg.7, George McCready Price and the Rise of Modern Creationism) This was also to defend White's belief that Satuday was a "special status...distinguishing them from other Christian sects." (Pg. 9, George McCready Price and the Rise of Modern Creationism.) The YE creationism view is only around 150 years old. It wasn't an historical Early Church View, though many wrongly claim it is. A lot of people will probably take offense at this being presented but all I ask is for you to take a look and question why you believe what you believe. And where is that information coming from, are they knowable about the subject (credentialed)? It's only where we examine both sides that we understand why we believe what we believe.

In light of what is written in Romans 1...... 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools...... 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen...... Do you believe there is a curse or judgment on people who refuse to believe in God as Creator? Or even on those who don't believe His word when it details a 6 day creation?

Sorry, This is YEC talking point and has no facts. The speed of light has not changed it 186,000 miles per second. Here is the United States of America in prophecy: We can know "when" we are on God's prophetic calendar. It is written in the book of 2nd Esdras. Chapter 11 contains a prophecy that describes a line of American presidents, five of whom are still alive, and two of them are being kept until "the end." All of them are old men. "The end" is fast approaching. Ezra wrote Second Esdras, chapters 11, 12, and 13 many centuries ago, long before the United States existed, yet he accurately describes a line of 15 US presidents starting with Hoover. This 100-year-long prophecy began fulfilling on March 4, 1929. It is now 95% complete. Its perfect fulfillment to this point has established its credibility. Ezra was not guessing. Most of the Young Earth Creation arguments come from 1961 book The Genesis Flood by Whitcomb & Morris. This book pushes Seventh-Day Adventist ideas of George M. Price. If the YECs knew they were pushing arguments from a Seventh-Day Adventism (heretical) perspective they would be embarrassed. The YT Channel of InspiringPhilosophy has a video on this topic with lots of sources and citations called The Origins of Young Earth Creationism. In that video at the 15:18 mark you can see that book was the origin of the relatively recent and now-declining YEC view. YEC is not the obvious reading of Genesis or majority view of Christians. It's a declining view. YEC isn't a matter of salvation but it is a perfect approach for creating Christians that walk away from the faith when the YEC required rejection of science becomes too much and they have to choose between Bible and science. All truth will point to the God of the Bible. Any time science and the Bible appear to conflict it is man's understanding of the Bible or science that is in error. The Bible is true.

If you listen carefully to what Dr. Ross stated in the video, it is possible that beastiality took place producing a very small number of offspring. The issue is not settled science, at all, despite what is being posited. In fact, it is highly debated amongst scientists. It is also possible that due to the climate conditions and diet that NT's and humans endured, some 40,000+ years ago, the appearance of similarities in each of their DNA is possible. I also don't know what you mean when you say it's not settled science. What part of it is not settled? Interbreeding between Homo sapiens and Homo neanderthalensis? No, genome sequencing of several Neanderthal specimens shows that gene flow occurred between them and us. They're not part of the genus Homo? That's flat out wrong given that they fit the definition of Homo to a T. If you're going to discredit them, then you're going to have to do the same for us. We're not related to them? That's wrong. *One of the problems with accepting or compromising the Bible's date (accurate genealogy) on man's origin is that the math doesn't add up.* There's not a shred of evidence that the Earth is 4 billion years old, much less that we came from a rock 3.5 billion years ago, and man evolved from a monkey like creature 250,000 to 300,000 years ago. Let's take a look at man's origin using math: *Most factual math + human population history according to "the story of evolution"* If humans (i.e., the genus homo ) have been on the Earth for roughly two to three million years. Using statistics, one can arrive at an estimate for how many people would be predicted to be on the Earth at different points in history. For example, accounting for factors such as *war, plagues, disease, natural disasters, and famine* and assuming humans have been on the planet for only one million, rather than two to three million, years, we find that there should be 10^2,000 people on the planet today. There are, however, not even 10^10 people on the Earth. In fact, if three-feet-tall humans with narrow shoulders were squeezed into the Universe like sardines, only 10^82 people could fit into the entire Universe. It would take 10^1,918 (minus one) other Universes like ours to house that many humans. *Extremely generous math to try to favor the history of humanity according to "the story of evolution"* Atheist scientists had originally said that humans broke off from ape-like creatures 2.5 million years ago. And that modern man evolved from that humanoid about 250,000 to 300,000 years ago. Well, even if we assume that humans have ony been on the planet for 10,000 years, when the alleged agricultural revolution started and being extremely conversative. Only doubling the world's population every 150 years (currently the population doubles about 40 years), *after 150 years there will be 4 people, after another 150 years there will be 8 people, after another 150 years there will be 16 people, and so on* This rate is actually very conservative. (we have records of a Russian woman in the 1700's who gave birth to over 60 children). I am taking into account *disease, plagues, famines, natural disasters, wars, and reverse birth to death ratio at various intervals.* Way before the discovery of penicillin in 1928. We have records of women from the 1400's giving birth to 10 children on average, let's say only 5 would make it to old age for the factors mentioned above, so 2 children per couple every 150 years for 10,000 years it is extremely generous. Calculating these numbers, there would have been averaging close to 100 doublings in 10,000 years. The world’s population would be whopping figure of the # 1 followed by 30 zeros. Check it out: 1,000000000000000000000000000000. You can still wipe out humanity a couple of times more and the numbers still don't add up. *Think about this in 1912 when the Titanic sank. The world's population was only a little over 1 billion people. Fast-forward 100 years and we are 8 billion. And we have had world war I and world War II in between (70 million people died). In 1945-46 around 140,000 people died as a result of the bombing of Hiroshima, Plus the worst influenza plague the world has ever seen, which happened 1918 (50 million people die)* Still In the last 100 years alone we can see a population growth of 8 times its numbers. *Now, let's look at this other also very conservative math:* If we start about 4,500 years ago (time of Noah's flood, only 8 people survived). After about 30 doublings, which is about 4,500 years, the world's population would have reached about 8 billion people (4,500 years ÷ 150 years in between births = 30 doublings // 8 exponentially doubled 30 times = 8,589,934,592 people). Just more or less what we have today. Give or take a few millions due to the negative factors mentioned above. Yes, some Christians and many other religions believe in some sort of evolution. But this is only because they have been influenced by this indoctrination since they were children. *Math doesn't lie. We can see how man invented the a theory of his origin to try to do away with God’s moral laws. We have lied about our origin, our history. And the studies of archeology, biology, anthropology, and so on. We even rather believe in panspermia (aliens from other galaxies). We are very ready to accept anything but God. BTW, religion is also man's made. For God there's only two religions good and evil* There's gonna be people regardless of their educational level that because of their cognitive biases can look at these facts and will still want to continue their merry-way without having any accountability for their actions. *Data taken into account.* *We have the oldest world's population census data from China's Han Dynasty in 2 CE, which recorded a population of 57.7 million people.* *World population record:* "8000 BC This is an assumed date based on human evolution; which is a total fictional fabrication: The claimed world's population was around 5 million at the beginning of agriculture." *The following world's population record is from factual census:* 1 AD: The world's population was around 200 million, but some estimates suggest it was closer to 300 million or 600 million. 1800: The world's population reached 1 billion. 1930: The world's population reached 2 billion. 1960: The world's population reached 3 billion. 1974: The world's population reached 4 billion. 1987: The world's population reached 5 billion. 1999: The world's population reached 6 billion people 2011: The world's population reached 7 billion people 2022: The world's population reached 8 billion people 2023: The world's population was 8,045,311,447. *COVID 2019 to 2024 about 7,010,681 people died* *Each year there are approximately 4 million births in the U.S. and 2.4 million deaths.* The world's fertility rate has only been declining over the past 70 years, from around 5 children per woman in 1950 to 2.2 children per woman in 2021. This is due to a number of factors, including: • Reduced childhood mortality: Mothers no longer need to compensate for lost children • Increased women's autonomy: Women have more control over their lives • Improved contraception access and efficacy: Contraception is more widely available and effective.

You say you're taking constraints on population growth into consideration, but you're obviously not. I've heard this same math from young earth creationists without any constraining factors considered. For one, populations are limited by carrying capacity, which is how much an environment can support without collapsing on itself. That giant ballooning of our population over a century was because we increased our carrying capacity. Advances in medicine also prolonged our lifespan, which meant people lived longer and could produce more children. As for the role of other constraining factors, you're completely trivializing them. Famines, natural disasters, and plagues could devastate millions of people, as we see today. That greatly affects how much a population can grow. The difference between then and now is that we have modern technology and techniques that ensure we're more likely to live. People from three thousand years ago didn't have that.

A text can’t be an authority for people without a living human authority to interpret it, you can claim to be that authority but Protestants don’t try any legitimate attempt at a claim of interpretive authority, instead insist their interpretations and presuppositions are the only clear valid ones from their traditions. I Basically Agree with Dr. Hugh Ross , on the fact that the Heavens, ( plural) and the Earth , were CREATED ( Heb. "bara" ) in the "DATELESS PAST" ( Heb. "b`rashith" ) And that the Universe Is Very Very Old !! However, at Minute 7:17, and onward, Dr. Ross declares that for Six Days, God CREATES !! On the Seventh Day God Stops "Creating" !! The Problem with THAT Statement, is This; That the Hebrew Text declares, that: in the Six Days GOD was RESTORING, "Made", ( Heb. "asah", meaning Put into Order , and Not CREATING , ( as in the Heb. word "bara" ) To Create means to something out of Nothing !! So outside of Creating The Sea Creaturews and the Birds of the Air and the Beasts of the field, and Creeping Things, all on the Fourth day !! ( verse 21 ) And Creating ADAM and EVE, on Day Six !! ( verse 27 ) Thus, the Majority of Gods Work, was that of RESTORATION !! And Certainly NOT the CREATION of the Universe, ( Which was accomplished, in the DATELESS Past ) Therefore The REST on the Sevent Day ! Gen.2:3, makes it Clear that GOD ceased from His Work of "making" ( Restoring ) the Earth, as well as CREATING the Fishes of the sea, and the Fowls of the Air, and the Creeping Things !! All the other Things that God did on Day One, Day Two, Day Three, and Day Five, were Things that were Restorative and Not CREATIVE !! So, for Dr. Ross to say that The Sevneth Day is Continuing, would be an Error, in my Understanding !! As GOD declares in Gen.2:2-3 , that He "RESTED" from All the Work that he "Made", ( Heb. It is sad YEC, but they are NOT the Church or the Bible. To deny the existence of a Creator is an error.

This tells us that the 7th day Each believer are to enter into day 7. Gen 2:4 “in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens” referring to the whole time of the six days, The events of day 6 can not have happened in 24 hours. @djsarg7451 With evolutionary theories the earth is never finished, the tectonic plates will be moving around and reshaping the earth forever. With evolutionary theories biology is forever being made and remade. This sort of gives nature almost magical and eternal powers. If one disbelieves the flood then the sedimentary layers are layed slowly over millions of years. Therfore deep time. If the earth was smooth and covered with water was rapidly transformed into an earth with dry land and ocean basins by a miraculous increase in earths diameter then what is attributed to plate tectonics opened the ocean basins at the speed of a car going down the highway instead of hundreds of millions of years for plate tectonics. So if a person thinks that science has confirmed long geologic ages and evolution he will subscribe to the longest interpretation of what a day means. If the plates will essentially be in the same place as they were at the close of the 3rd day (except for tidal flexing), in the future, the earth is finished. As well if the animals that exist today are here in the future with more extinct, biology is finished as well.

I would argue something more opposite. That most people accept the old earth view, because they're indoctrinated into it before they have a grasp of theology or the bible, and then they add God into the secular, scientific worldview rather than interpret the world through the lens of the bible being true. I studied environmental sciences and biology in college. Have learned much more on my own as an adult, and believe the old earth view is wrong/flawed, and it doesn't work with the bible without reinterpreting basic theology as well.

There is evidence against those claims found by telescopes and some evidence for their possibility. To say they are proven or verified is false and lead to bad conclusions about objective science, at most they are possible. Much of this research is done to support a presupposition and that is reached before findings are measured. The "Young Earth" Theory, is "Dead on Arrival", when we Exmine the Hebrew scriptures !! Where the Kjv Bible Declares; ..."In the Begining". The Hebrew Text Declares; ...."In the Dateless Past" ( Heb. "b`rashith" ) Where the KJV declares; ..."GOD Created the Heaven, and the Earth" . The Hebrew Text declares; ..."God Created , ( Heb. "bara", Made out of Nothing ) the Heavens, (plural, Heb. "e`shmim") and the Heb. "e`artz", Dry Land !! in Gen.1:2, where the Kjv, declares that The Earth "Was" Without Form and Void ! The Hebrew Text declares that; ...Thwe Earth "Became" ( Heb. "hayah" tohu va Bohu" Considder the Following; ....The Creation of the Heavens ( plural ) and the Earth, must have happened possibly Millions of years ago, and Certainly NOT only 6227 years ago !! As the Scientists of our day, tell us that the Heavens Contain over 40 Sextillion Stars. And we Also read in Heb.11:3, that; ..."Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, So that things which are seen, were not made, of things which do appear." That means that God "Spoke INTO EXISTENCE", the MATERIAL UNIVERSE !! So, how long did it take God to "Create" the Material Universe ? Well the Bible does not Tell Us That !! But we have some interesting "clues" from Gen.1:3-2:3, concerning the "Re-Creative", and "Restorative" work, of the Six days, in that; ..... God took One Day, to divide darkness and light on planet Earth. ( Gen.1:3-5 ) God took another Day, to divide the Waters. ( Gen.1:6-8 ) God took Another Day, to restore "Dry land". ( Gen.1:9-13 ) God took another Day, to regulate the SUN , the MOON and the STARS, in connection with the Restored Earth. (Gen.1:14-19 ) And all this was done by God SPEAKING, (commanding) it into being, ( as in Gen.1:9,...." And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so." So using a little Common Sense and Logic, based on the facts of the Astronomical Claim, that there are approximately ( 40 Sextillion ) 40,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, Stars in Space !! And they tell us that each of those Stars, are a SUN to other PLANETS. Then the question I have for All the "Young Earth" believers, is this; ....If God "spoke" Things into being, as is declared in Hebrews 11:3, and God used One DAY, to complete each of the Four "RESTORATIVE ACTS" in the first FOUR Days of the "Recreation and Restoration" of 6227 years ago !! Would it not be LOGICAL to Assume that God used at least ONE DAY, to "speak into being" Each of the Approximately 40 sextillion STARS that the Astronomers Claim are in the Universe ?? And so, How many YEARS Does 40 sextillion "DAYS", Amount To, in YEARS, according to Ya'Alls reckoning ?? Morgan Sorensen ( Biblical Theologian ) and Constitutional Scholar, in minstry since 1963

This is INCORRECT, and is your "Un-Biblical Speculation", based on your Allegorizing the Spiritual Aplication of Heb.4:9-10, back Into the "Restorative Acts" of the Six Days of "Restoration", after that God had brought Judgment upon LUCIFERS Domain, of Ruling the Earth !! In GOD having the Earth "Become" ( Heb. "hayah" ) "Empty and Void". ( Heb. "tohu va bohu" ) Which you Erroneously Referred to , as "GOD MADE the Heavens and the Earth, in Six Days" !! By quoting Exod.20:11, which Speaks of the Six Days that God "MADE", ( Heb. "asah" ) Referring to GOD'S Restoration of the Earth in Six Literal Days, ( and NOT to Original CREATION, Heb" barah" ) which refers to GOD "Creating Out of Nothing" the "Heavens", ( plural ) and the Earth. ( Singular ) You Also Said; .... The Events of day 6, can Not have happened in 24 hours. MY RESPONSE; .... Well, Gen.1:31, REFUTES your "Un-Biblical" Jewish Speculation !! As it Declares; ..."And the Evening and the Morning were the Sixth Day !! ( 24 hours, "Touche' !!) And the Rest of Your "ramblings", I could Easily Disagree with, but I do not have the Time, nor the Inclination, as a Biblical Theologian, to go into THAT !! Since I am Conscious of the Words of JESUS, when he Said; ..."BEWARE of MEN", As Jesus was Warning us about JEWISH MEN, ( and JEWISH SCHOLARS in Particular ) and Not GENTILE Men !! Good Day to you , sir Morgan Sorensen ( Biblical Theologian ) in ministry since 1963.

You mix apples and oranges. Dr. Walter Kaiser, Jr. PhD and Dr. Gleason Archer PhD disagree with you. Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz In the beginning of the beginning, Elohim, (bara) He-Created something that never existed before, all physical reality; matter space, time , and energy. The "Heavens and the Earth" is a hendiadys. It is used 13 times in the Old Testament. Always indicating all physical reality. There Earth is not 6,000 years old; nor does the Bible state that nor any other age.
