@@sethsuleiman4419I mean, sure we do, there are plenty of times they too have made mistakes in their own understanding and presentation of their subject matter. Like when a professor in my statics class made an error when solving a problem and someone had to point it out. Does his error mean I can't trust him to teach statics? No, it was a mistake, one that the professor acknowledged. Same for all engineering students who become teachers and professors, they are certainly well versed in their subject, but can still easily make mistakes. Does that completely invalidate anything they teach about their subject? No.

@@sethsuleiman4419 It's the same principle - the writer will do the best of their ability when writing the textbook, and has the benefit of reviewing and proofing what they wrote, but they too are flawed people who can make errors. You can sometimes find errors in the problem sets and answer key they provide. However, I still trust the author of the textbook not on the basis of the author being flawless in their subject, but because they are well-versed in the subject matter. While the books of the bible are certainly a very different subject matter than something like engineering, the authors of each book are well versed in their understanding of God, what he did for them, and God's character. They are not claiming that they themselves are perfect - far from it. But they point to the character of God and recognize that he is moral standard, and made a record of what God did and who he is. It is not because we need the author to be perfect and flawless that we can trust the books in the bible, but rather because they are record keepers who knew God and are explaining his nature and deeds through the books they wrote.

Is that why he had a man murdered?
@Professional-fh1ow11 ай бұрын
It takes the whole story to understand not a "gotcha" moment from a piece of the story. It started with one sin that lead to another etc...From II Samuel 11 He'd committed the sin if lusting after another mans wife first. Then he acted on that sin and committed adultery with Bathsheba. Then he tried to cover those sins by commanding Uriah to go home to be with Bathsheeba becauswe she had become pregnant. When Uriah refused to stay on the battefront with his men THEN David committed the last in THIS particular line of sin by having him killed in battle. The result was the birth of Solomon who eventually became the next King of Israel and was dubbed the wisest man that ever lived. I Kings 4:29-34 But even he had his own sin that lead him astray. Eventually Jesus is born from this bloodline. I hope and pray what you take from this is how Satan works but how God also can turn around what was meant for evil for His good. Even what can be learned about abortion here. Look what came from an unwanted pregnancy. God knows we are flawed by nature from Adams original sin, not that any of us need help to committ our own sin but throughout history this has happened and will continue. I'm not perfect but I won't give up trying.@@mattr.1887

Taking the language of the Bible, as I do, to be mythical, it nevertheless shows, as language is always sure to do, in any age or country, the true standard of the then ruling morality. And I may safely assert that, as a rule, the greater the amount of religion, or which is the same thing - ignorance, the lower the standard of morality; and vice versa. the greater the amount of intelligence, the less there will be of religion, and the standard of morality will range higher. To many this may seem odd, but it is true, as all history will prove. The instances which may he adduced in proof of the truth of this proposition are very many. One example shall suffice here. This happened toward the end of the fifteenth century, near the close of the "dark ages," when the Christian religion was in the height of its power, and brooked no opposition. " At the siege of Naples in Italy in 1495, a new disease broke out and spread rapidly until it pervaded all ranks. It was syphilis." "If contemporary authors are to be trusted." says Dr. J. W. Draper, "there was not a class, married or unmarried, clergy or laity, from the holy father Leo X to the beggar by the way-side, free from it. It swept over Europe. Its march was equable, unbroken, universal, making good its ground from its point of appearance in the southwest, steadily and swiftly taking possession of the entire continent, and offering an open manifestation and measure of the secret wickedness of society." The Bible contains a number of prophecies that never came true, although it is usually possible to reinterpret them to refer to other events. Here are failed prophecies from the Old Testament and a failed prophecy from the New Testament: Ezekiel prophesied two separate outcomes for Egypt, total desolation or occupation by Babylon, but neither actually occurred: Ezekiel 29:12: And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. Ezekiel 29:19: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army. Mark chapter 13 has Jesus prophesy his return on clouds of glory within the lifetimes of some to whom he spoke: Mark 13:26,30: And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory…Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

Revelation states that everyone dies and are before his throne in heaven. It seems to me, people, Christians specifically, are the problem. "for man, it is impossible to enter the kingdom of heaven". The final battle at Armageddon is between believers (wolves in sheep's clothing) against God. The Churches are building their army of ravenous wolves to war against God. But as hard as they may try to convert unbelievers into Christian wolves, they will fail, because, thankfully, Jesus, the Son, was already victorious. Therefore, He can change the outcome of the warning and shorten those days, so that not all flesh is destroyed. The bad news in doing this, is that anyone who still rejects the Truth at that time, will be cast immediately into the eternal fire, spiritually.
