@@Theo_Skeptomai KZbin unfortunately isn’t the greatest place for these types of discussions as I only access it via mobile device. I was agnostic until 2018. My open mindedness probably varies from topic to topic to be fair. Ex: there is no openness to the idea that the Chiefs get “all the calls” or are “favored by the refs”. All that to say I had a direct intervention from God that brought me an agnostic directly to my knees. I would be happy to record my testimony if you have interest. Ultimately, I came down with an illness that made it impossible to have kids and potentially would kill me. It caused me to have suicidal thoughts as I knew I had wanted children since I was 12 and my oldest nephew was born. The rest of my story is better in video form. We all have different journeys towards what we deem to be the truth. I would say when it comes to finding Christ it’s a lot like searching for a whale, and if you only search on land you will never find one. If you really want to see if God is real you will need to open your heart to the possibility and attend a good church. Unfortunately as I am sure you may ask what designates a good church, there are many but also some that are bad. Bad churches are one of the most common reasons I find that people leave the faith. Generally speaking it has a fair amount to do with the congregation and pastor(s). If you take nothing else from this, read “The Case for Christ”. It was written by an Atheist from an Atheist’s perspective. I wish you nothing but the best truly.

True.......and no translation from the original Aramaic by any bible authors. No complete ancient manuscripts were found in Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek or any language, while pieces of them contradicted each other. Most importantly, no bible according to Jesus!
@blusheep23 ай бұрын
This is not true. Not "All" scholars agree that the first gospel was anonymous and authored after 70 AD. Who ever told you that, lied. There are many scholars that date the Book of Mark after 70 AD but the reason is because it contains a prophecy for the destruction of the temple. Secular scholarship won't consider prophecy and so they assume the book was written after the destruction of the temple in 70 AD. There are some other minor reasons but this is the big one. Almost all scholars say that Mark came first. A few think Matthew did because of some early church father testimony. That puts the book of Luke after the book of Mark. Paul who wrote most of the letters died around 63-64 AD and this is pretty much accepted by both sides of scholarship. Paul appears to quote Luke in his letters. That would put Luke prior to 65 AD which would put Mark even earlier then that. The secular dating is inferential dating that stems from an assumption about the impossibility of prophecy.
@JCFDbabelonia332 ай бұрын
He explained in the video why scholarship that dates it all to around 70ad or more isn't really factual, and every manuscript we've found of the gospels that had a title not only did not claim to be anonymous (they had names) but also the correct authors (that may not mean the _scribes_ they used) too. There have been gospel variations (a lot of them), but not so that they would contradict eachother. Also, have you seen how many speak English today that doesn't come from an English speaking country? this is called a "lingua franca", and Greek was the lingua franca of the eastern Roman empire during the day, meaning, to get the gospels across, they would have written it in greek. (Papias is not omniscient)

Genius! Remembering is powerful! My kids trust the stories I tell them of my childhood and yet they didn’t live any of it. And the fact that we are humans who age and need to pass our stories to the next generation is so compelling. We are not Hard drives who just store information. We are stories in action and storytellers. And Jesus is a bestselling author without ever writing anything (ironic the only time he writes he is writing in sand). God trusts the power of his story so much he leaves it to humans to share it. And that is compelling!

Question for you Frank. I'm a Christian but yet I never did a lot of investigation prior to becoming a Christian. Something in me just always believed and knew it was the truth. I have since learned a lot more about the historical accuracy of scripture. In some ways it's been a hindrance in my study of scripture, because of my early beliefs that scripture was God's word, I never questioned it, not even once. Now that I'm 60, my faith has never waivered, yet I see that in a lot of ways I didnt come to know Jesus the way I should have, and my scriptural knowledge is very weak and in turn effects my ability to witness. I'm older now and not in great health. My mind wanders easily and my focus is very short. Can you suggest something I can do to get better equipped to serve Christ better than I have. He has done so much for me over the years and I hate to imagine that there is someone I could have led to Christ that doesn't get to know him because of my shortcomings.

@blusheep23 ай бұрын
1. I don't know if I can answer this one but that doesn't mean that what you request doesn't exist. I know there are Roman records that record speeches and such but I don't know how close they are to event. That being said, in the historical record stuff written in the 1st 50 years is considered extremely close. 2. Yes if you want to be a Christian you can reject the long ending of mark. You don't have to try and pick up snakes if you don't want to. 3. The genre of the Gospels didn't historically contain authorship. That didn't mean that people didn't know the authors. The reason they left off authorship was because they considered it a distraction from the object of the text. Plato never authored his material either. We know about his writing through others. The early church had a strong tradition about the authorship. At least one was a disciple of John. No early church father disagrees with the authorship. They are all in one accord, and when they started putting titles on the Gospels, they never varied. Every manuscript in existence assigns the same authorship to the gospels as the others. The authorship is pretty darn solid.
