We have the 50 PSI Crossfire w/ 12” hoses, STV valve.
TPMS System we use (works great): www.amazon.com...
One of the biggest concerns I had when purchasing the Winnebago View RV was how to deal with the dually tires. Dually tires can pose many issues:
1. 4 Tires to monitor tire pressure. Need fancy TPMS (tire pressure monitor system)
2. Inside/Outside tire need to be equal to avoid abnormal tire wear or tire damage.
3. Airing the tires down (off road) and airing up is a hassle. 4 Tires vs 2 (think time consuming).
4. Blow Out or Flat. Especially inner tire can cause outer tire failure. Dual flats w/ 1 spare.
Crossfire tire pressure system really solves all the problems!!
You can monitor both tires via one TPMS sensor same as any vehicle. Since the tire pressure is always equalized between the tires when above 30psi (pressure varies depending on valve ordered). You attach the TPMS sensor to the combined pressure stem on the crossfire device. Simple!
If one of the tires goes flat it will disconnect the other tire at 30psi (pressure varies depending on valve ordered). The TPMS will notify you that pressure has dropped and you can resolve without destroying both tires. One flat tire will destroy the other tire as it will be excessively overloaded.
You can easily air down and air up your tires together! This is huge. Really saves an immense amount of hassle and tire.
What is the downside? You need to disconnect the Crossfire when doing tire rotation or removing tires. It adds 5-10 minutes which to me is a small inconvenience for all the problems it solves.
We’ve been using the Crossfire for nearly 3 years and had no issues whatsoever. You do need to use common sense and logic… On the stainless steel hose connecting the inner tire we have a rubber hose protecting it (think road debris / rocks). You should use quality steel valve stems. Rubber or cheap valve stems could break or leak.
