great video...I feel like such a fan boy watching this. Awesome. Best part for me was watching them both actually BE HUMAN...having this workout crush them. Rich not able to walk..and Matt unable to untie his shoes....just shows they are just human too...bad ass humans but they get sore too and get hurt. Love it.

Best CrossFit video ever. This year would've been the perfect way to end Rich's individual career. Getting each of their perspectives simultaneously was a brilliant idea. I really enjoyed this. Plot twist prediction: Matt Fraser wins the 2015 CrossFit title. Rich Froning immediately announces that he will return to take back the title in 2016. Then end the clip with Fraser going right back on the rower the day after. Oh man.

It's kinda sad how there's so much hate on this specific community, when in fact we're all just simply into fitness for self-betterment. I mean c'mon can't we just respect the different categories of fitness together as a whole?
@NocheDeToro9 жыл бұрын
No! If you do fitness a different way you are bad! *slaps with ruler* Honestly I don't get it either. I hate running but that doesn't mean I can't respect a runner. I think it's just cool to hate crossfit now and so people need to find a way to fit in. We've got a few guys who said they were on the hate bandwagon until their friends/wives dragged them in and now they love it.

I'm 1.92m height, 83kg weight and a fit guy overall, except my lower abs. I've been working out before for periods of months-1 year but also with pauses of almost the same length or more. Now I've been hitting the gym for almost 4 months, 3 times a week working back+bis+abs, legs+shoulders+abs and chest+tris+abs 4 exercises of 4 sets for the larger group muscles and 3 exercises of 4 sets for the smaller groups. My diet is developed by myself and consists in high-protein-low-carb meals throughout the day at 3-4hr intervals, except for the training days where I eat at 5 when I wake up 2 eggs,some mushrooms,vegetables,feta,and others combined with a bowl of oats+milk and my next meal at around 9-10am consisting of chicken meat with vegetables and rice or some pasta. I then go to the gym after work at around 3pm, get back at around 5 and wait 1hr before I get my post workout meal so that the fat burning process kicks in. I eat usually a can of tuna or sardines combined with cottage cheese or whatever which give a total of 30+ grams of protein. If I'm feeling hungry I snack some peanuts/peanutbutter/sunflowerseeds/ stuff like that and go to sleep at around 9pm. Now, if I didn't miss anything, here's the thing that bothers me: how the hell can't I get abs? I never had them in my life, my upper abs look plain with a little cut in the middle going down from my chest and my lower abs are covered in half of centimeter-1cm of fat layer. I'm working out in hoodies all the time, sweat like hell, I look drenched after every workout and give my all in the gym, sometimes feeling like I'm about to puke after going out or getting dizzy on my way home. I drink enough water every half an our, and while working out.. I use chilli, cinammon and ginger with my foods, I've looked up every fuckin food out there to get cut and build muscle and there's no way my lower abs seem to ever coming out. I do leg raises while hanging from the bar, I do all kind of exercises involving the legs and lower half of my body, I've done my god damn research even if I forgot to mention something here and some of you might jump to point it out but still nothing. Is it genetics? Am I the tall and skinny type? I look swol and stuff, my coworkers telling me that almost on a daily basis even if I'm trying to hide that I'm going out to the gym, I workout for myself not to show off, hence the gym apparel while others are sporting those string shirts and shit and posing out there. Someone help me, what do I need to do? Before the gym I was doing High intensity training on a field 3 times a week.. what am I missing? I'm getting around 8 hours of rest a day, sleeping afternoon in my rest day as well, I'm starting to lose hope, I've been 83kg since the begining of these 3-4 months, and only noticed some swoleness and maybe a slimming in my abs, but not enough. I don't take any protein shakes or other type of powders, pills and shit, none, just food, is that the reason? Being clean means the road is tougher and longer? I'm getting muscles soreness after almost every workout, to me it means I'm working out properly as you may imagine otherwise. I've increased my bench, squat weight gradually, now deadlifting 120kg for 6reps and I feel that I can do more for lower reps obviously. My form is proper, I just don't fucking know, I'm about to give up believing, I never had abs in my life, always gained weight around my waist, I heard it's a common problem for men though
@jakehorwood24659 жыл бұрын
+Lex C To have cut or shredded abs you need low body fat %, probably around 8%. You can probably find ways to lower this online where you get all your other information from.
@NickgAnagnost9 жыл бұрын
+Lex C Jake has a point, if you don't have body fat in the single digits, you're not gonna have abs. Also, some people just don't have the muscle structure to have a 'six pack'. Take Chuck Liddell.. the guy is/was a knockout artist in the ring and he's never been really ripped. All that matters is that your core is strong;

@jamesadarden51459 жыл бұрын
You can see Rich would take about a 1-sec count at the top of the Thruster while Matt didn't. That brief pause was enough to make a difference. Both probably rowed at a comparable pace. It was still blazing fast for Froning regardless. Then he proceeds to collapse afterwards when he took a few steps. A guy at our box who turned in one of the fastest times (sub-10) was totally out of it for about 10-15 minutes afterwards. I wonder if anyone got rhabdo from this one? On a side note, the Nike Metcons are getting some visibility on these videos. I'm curious to see what happens when the Reebok contract ends.
