Commentators keep talking about how the endurance athletes had their day yesterday and this event is where the heavy hitters can do their thing. Yet Fikowski took first in the Run Swin Run with a time of like 28 minutes and still snatched 300 lbs. Dude is a beast. Confident but humble.

One thing I find funny, after Streat Hoerner hit 270# the commentator said "I love that youthful confidence" as Streat is celebrating, which is true, but if they looked at his listed weights, that was a 5# PR. That's why he was celebrating as much as he was

57:00 - 57:20 To me it’s amazing that you’re lifting that close to your PR or at your PR, you miss the lift and you attempt the lift in 10s again. I truly belive that every olympic lifter thinks making that second lift is arguably impossible.

@mme9646
@mme9646 5 жыл бұрын
If you think these guy's techniques are remotely close to decent (except for some) that means your technique is rubbish, and I am not here to insult, I'm just saying it how it is. Having a good technique will not give you instantly a 140kg snatch, it will prevent you from injury and make you more efficient, in the sense that you will be able to snatch what your strength allows you to.
@rubensousa9216
@rubensousa9216 4 жыл бұрын
@@mme9646 I understand what you say but there's 2 things that need to be taken into account: the first is that there's no evidence these athletes got injured after and due to this event (or WL practice), and therefore their technique, while not being perfect, it's not necessarily injury prone at these weights; the second is that it's not worth their time to fully maximize their weightlifting potential because they need to focus on a lot more varied movements. It's actually very common for these events to be won by someone who is not actually a title contender (like Fisher and Pichelli). But I fully agree with you many of these movements are too imperfect to lead the athletes to a weightlifting competition. While some are ugly but still legal, you can also see a lot of press outs. They also, in my opinion, rush to their first lift (even "fast" lifters like Lasha take a bit more time to concentrate).

How CrossFit is done varies between Gym to gym, the one I go to, is very strict on form, my coach doesn’t let me go any higher if he sees a flaw in my form, and doing the open we have qualified coaches and even the slight bad form causes a no -rep, while some other CrossFit gym may focus on speed instead of perfect form.

These woman are weak. It's sad that me a 29 year old fat guy can snatch more than the "fittest women" in the world..... Sure they have great cardio and muscle endurance but they are also using lighter weight, lower boxes than the avg guy would who's RXing a WOD in their local gym. Now if they would to at least go by standards that avg guys do then I'd be impressed but using a 15lb ball and a 9' target is weak sauce.

Dalton Johnson. "Sure they have great cardio and muscle endurance but they are also using lighter weights.....blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada. That's just it, the Crossfit games aren't just about lifting. OK, so you can beat these women in ONE THING. But add up all the days, the workouts, the reps etc.... How do you think you'd stack up then? If you're a 29 year old "fat guy" you probably would get destroyed/crushed by the sheer volume these women do over the course of the entire games. What a moronic comment on your part.....

Also there is the need for control. But being fair these are generalists, not specialised lifters so there will always be gaps we can pick at

This is the funniest shit in the world. Beghdad salimi can hang power snatch their maxes for 15 nonstop reps. He can power clean their deadlift max and spit on the ground and leave dancing then for good measure turn on a video of his 216 kilo snatch in rio

Trust in Jesus he died for your sins, believe the gospel. Repent!!! If you do sin confess your sins, ask him to help you overcome your sins he will. Obey Jesus, live by his teachings, be led by the Holy Spirit. The Lord is coming soon you must live by his teachings. The love of God is beyond our understanding....,,,...

21:03 The No Rep rule from snatching off the blue square platform is such fucking bullshit. The rep should've been counted if you still maintained a good elbow lockout without pressing out. it's not like the platform was elevated like in olympic weightlifting
