Hi Robin. I see in your video today you visited Glover House and gardens. He was one of the pioneers of the industrial revolution in Japan and was born in my hometown of Fraserburgh in N.E Scotland. The house where he lived here was blown up in WW2, but now is a remembrance garden for him in the style of a Japanese garden, really pretty. Thomas Blake Glover.

You need to wear layers. Get a base layer and a polar fleece jacket to wear under your rain jacket. A polar fleece gator for your face too. It gets very cold in Japan. We don't want you to get sick!

Glad you stopped to sleep and warm up vegore you continued to Nagasaki prefecture. Be on the lookout for sporting good store that will have weatherproof parkas made of GoreTex ~ something like that is lightweight but will retain your body heat and keep you dry. Sometimes you can find the kind with an extra removeable inside fleece or flannel liner. You're not traveling year-round to different prefectures just to get sick! Down time being sick means less savings for van life. Sleepy-san, you look really nice with your fresh hair down. I like that public foot hot spring! Beautiful rides during your days and nights. And your thumbnail turned really good and happy looking! And thanks for always taking us sling to enjoy your foods with you.

So many things I have missed between Kagoshima and Tokyo, makes me sad I have not experienced the things you have seen. The places you have shown are an inspiration to go off the path, in February I am back and hope to experience even .1% of the things you have. Your videos are the reason this trip I am renting a car and heading into the country side to see new things I never have before. Keep up the good work, I thouroghly do enjoy seeing a more humble take on Japan. Never know might run into you haha!

Love getting to see so much of Japan because of you. Seeing the western table and chairs (at Glover-San's house) made me think about how glad I am to live in the west. Just because getting up and down from traditional Japanese tables sitting on the floor would be so rough on my knees. 😂 But I might be in better shape if I had grown up there. I ride a motorcycle. A long time ago there was a real cold period in San Francisco and I had a thin jacket on while riding home at night at highway speed (probably higher, like 70mph). The temps were in the low 40's high 30's. The wind chill factor for driving 70 mph in 45 degrees puts it at 37 degrees F. So, almost freezing. And it was probably colder than that. Fortunately my ride home was 5 minutes at the speed limit. Probably under 3 mins as fast as I was going.
