The essence of being homeless is not having a home. That's it. I was homeless for 3 months but I had friends I could stay with. I slept on the couch. I think most people don't count that as homeless but trust me. The stress living like that is just as real!

Thats the literal definition. Not the essence of being homeless. You didnt have to worry about being robbed raped or stab at night. You had the luxury of being safe, dry, and warm. Theres people who get turned away from shelters becuase theyre full sleeping on the cold streets losing limbs to frost bite. Having anything over your head is a luxury fam.

This is true. Americans are unable to comprehend anything other than a low-trust society so when they see a society that is not like that they are bewildered and cannot believe it's real, or even believe it deserves to be changed by policy and force. This is why they are so desperate to export their culture of degeneracy to countries that are not like theirs. It is not familiar enough to them and that interrupts their peace of mind. Homeless people in Japan not being mostly violent, rootless, and deranged drug addicts who represent a monstrous creation of their own society is disturbing to them. The rest of the world must suffer as the american does, yet they are so curious as to why there is resentment between their country/culture and others. You know what they say, misery loves company.

People are careless and imprecise with language. I think a lot of people think homeless means destitute. Robin certainly isn't destitute, but he has no house, no apartment, no room in a house, no long term living arrangement in a permanent dwelling. That's homelessness. He doesn't own or lease a place to sleep or keep his possessions. That's homeless. He isn't sleeping outside without shelter or in places where he is trespassing. He's not going without food or bathing. He has more possessions than the clothes on his back. He has some money. He's not destitute. That doesn't mean he's not homeless. In North America we think the homeless are mostly people at busy intersections and highway off-ramps with cardboard signs asking for money, but for every one of those people there are 3 equally homeless people sleeping in their cars, on friends' couches, in shelters. Many homeless people are working jobs but can't secure permanent living accommodations. Some people stay in hotels for a few days at a time between periods of living out of their cars, or hiding in a place they're not supposed to be, like large building stairwells, or a storage area where they work. Most homelessness in North America is nearly invisible. It's still a problem. It's just not as obvious as people expect it to be.

In 2016 I was discharged from prison to the street. There was no half way house; no release center that would take me because the system made it so I discharged my number. So I borrowed a car and slept in that for 4 months, found a job, and saved. With help from my mom and sister I bought a 30 year old RV for 5k. And was still homeless as far as anyone I knew was concerned. It was always one breakdown away from failure. Then my mom passed away. So my disabled wife and mom's cat joined me in that RV for the two years while we sold her house, of which I got $4k after all her bills, Medicaid and Habit For Humanity didn't take. It took me two years of hard work and dumb luck to buy my first house at the age of 53. So, must he wallow in gutters, be filthy and half starved before you will accord the man his status? Is it a status he chooses? Yes, that is clear. But then, most homeless in America are there because life, the state, and the Corporate Elites are making everything from rent to healthcare to food cost every penny and more we make. Working homeless are still homeless. Just because you are homeless does not mean you don't keep living your live; or that you have to be a gutter rat and strung out meth-head, now does it. Grow up you f'ing Trolls. Honestly.

I think the thing that nobody gets about homelessness is that there is always a decision involved. It's always a choice. It's not "I choose to be homeless", at least not frequently. It's more often "I choose to not starve to death paying off someone else's mortgage" or "I choose to live my life genuinely instead of pretending to be something I'm not in exchange for a roof over my head". In my life, on more than one occassion, it's been 'I choose to start a new job before I have a roof over my head". If you've ever had to live in a hotel, if you've ever couch surfed while your stuff was in storage, if you've ever had to live in someone's garage... guess what? YOU'VE BEEN HOMELESS!

When people say that you are not homeless it's because they are not educated on the different levels of inequality we can have in our society. You can be homeless living on the streets, living in your car, hopping from friend's house to friend's house... Those are all situations of social vulnerability and those ignorant, unempathetic people cannot seem to comprehend that they can only be in a position to think of criticizing you, because they are probably doing better than you in the comfort of their homes. Also, most of these people are probably Americans, so forgive their ignorance. Just keep doing you, haters gonna hate. Love from Brazil, take care.

Keep “Pushing” Nomad. Whenever you’re doing something great for yourself or others, you’re going to be met with resistance (negative people). It just lets you know that you’re on the right path and that you made the right decision for your life. You’re transparent and honest about everything so anyone who has anything negative to say is just projecting something (unhealed trauma maybe) that has nothing to do with you. Keep pushing for greatness! Good luck on your journey!

You don’t hv a home, you literally sleep in tent or bunk in homes of kind friends. I say that qualifies. Why are we splitting peas over someone else plight. Becoz if YOU, WE get to experience another world. If that’s what it takes to survive in this world, you’re an inspiration. 🔥❤️👍

I have a friend who bounces from couch to couch and doesn't think he qualifies as homeless. By definition he is homeless. It can look many different ways.

Many of us are interested in your story and journey. The truth, good as well as the bad. Others were drawn in by the prospect of watching someone's suffering. Don't apologise for sharing with us your truth, people appreciate your content, and also seeing a reminder that homeless people are humans too, and not all stereotypes. Societies across the world love to zoom in on the mentally unwell, substance afflicted ones, it's an easy narrative to sell, but trust, we love your content as it is. It feels honest, and I've always enjoyed honest feeling vlog like content.

In the USA: Total Homeless Population: Approximately 580,000 people experienced homelessness on a single night in the United States. Sheltered Homelessness: About 61% of the homeless population (approximately 353,800 individuals) were in emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, or safe havens. Unsheltered Homelessness: The remaining 39% were unsheltered, living in places not meant for human habitation like streets, parks, vehicles, or abandoned buildings. There isnt just 1 definition of homless and there isnt just 1 homeless experience. I was homless for 2 years when I was a teen and I did everything in my power not to "look" homless so that I wasnt treated poorly.

Hostility, willful hurtful comments with no basis is mental disorder. They could be really young with obvious lack of couth and experience. I'd ask them who's enjoying life more 😊

It’s right in the name “Nomad” and “Push” you don’t have your own home so you move around hence the word Nomad and you are pushing in creating a better life for yourself with this channel hence the word Push. They say you are not successful on KZbin until you get haters. Congratulations 🥳 and also don’t listen to idiots who choose to feel better about their lives by tearing people down, you better believe after you they go to every channel to trash them as well. They are inconsequential. You do you. We know how hard you work to come up with a variety of content. We are happy to follow your journey from your perspective. It’s a valuable voice for many. We cheer you on.

You are definitely no fake! You are true to yourself, humble and all around awesome. Don’t worry, as you get bigger, you’ll see some people leaving dumb and useless comments (usually due to jealousy, or personal issues they are dealing with). That just means you are actually kicking ass! If you notice, you have WAY more nomad sans showing love and support. Keep living your life with no regrets and don’t worry about what other’s think about it. 🎉 NOMAD SANS LETS GOOO!

I think here in the United States, there's this myth that there are some people who are homeless "by choice". But I think that is a very small percentage, probably way less than 1%. People become homeless for a lot of different reasons. Maybe people might think you're "fake" because it seems like most homeless people in the USA do fit that stereotype you're talking about, because so many of our homeless are mentally ill or drug addicts. But it's still sad that people are so heartless and mean and call you fake. I hope all people without a home eventually get a safe place to live. Because I don't think we can call ourselves human until we fix homelessness in every country. ❤

When I was in my 20's, I volunteered weekly at a homeless shelter owned by a church. They had 80 beds in 2 rooms, each room had 40 bunkbeds, for women only. These single women would get a bed assigned to them for 3 months, they had to be in by 10pm and out by 6am. It was surprising to me, but around 15% of those 80 homeless women went to work everyday, one was even a nurse.

I've seen some homeless here in Australia and many don't look like the stereotypical homeless people often think. They dress like everyday people and a few even dress quite smart, much better than me in my workplace. Some of them still have a job, they just can't afford to live in the current cost of living situation. A number of them live in in cars, others carry around bags and then set up a tent at night.
