Crossing over - the inverted spin

Most footage was recorded the 5th of June 2013 in one single flight. The weather was brilliant and I had fun :-)
This is also my longest video editing project ever. I have spend weeks learning After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro in order to do text, intro and magic tricks as I imagined them. I like the result - although the more you learn the more errors you spot :-)
I am also not happy about the encoding quality on KZbin. Even in HD the video quality is pretty bad at some locations. The exported source video is much more fluent and with richer detail,
I wish KZbin would allow 60 frames sources :-).

Yet he did a winch lauch without holding the cable release. Tells me the pilot is in the "l am brillant, years of experience" mode. The mode where lots of accidents happen

@@monza1002000 Well spotted. We see that a lot. Luckily, he's an ace pilot and would be able to do a safe inverted landing if he needed. I don't know if it is the layout of the Acro, but he had to lean forward quite a bit to reach the handle. That may have been the reason why he didn't

Thank you for the comment! I did read up on the Vimeo encoding quality but they also do not offer 60 fps playback. So I just went with KZbin because I already got a channel :-) But the KZbin encoding is pretty harsh especially on fast moving areas like ground shots during the spin. Higher bit- and framerate (like my source) would have helped a lot.

Great airmanship ! Nice glider, I havent seen one before....it looks like a single seat Puchacz...(which I fly), are they common ? I am beginner in aerobatics...maybe I should look at buying one of these? What are they like to own ? What manouvers are restricted ?

The Acro is a full aerobatic glider, and it too is Polish as the Puchacz

How did get it to transition from the conventional spin to the inverted without it going into a spiral dive, or did in reality un-stall the wing before entering the inverted spin as you pushed through?

There's not much to it.... The upright spin is forced by full left rudder deflection, stick in the bottom right corner. Once you are ready for the transition, simply change foot (full right rudder) and stick in top left corner. This glider will then smoothly transition to an inverted rotation. You can go back again by reversing the procedure (if altitude permits). I think I got videos of that too on my channel. Thanks for the comment 👍

Very nice video! I was wondering though, why you would keep your phone mounted and you camelbak with you when you take off to fly aerobatics?

Yeah you are right about the phone - shouldn't be needed, I like it there though for navigation purpose. Camelbag however is certainly necessary - all my flights are winch launch and thermal up. Need water for 2+ hours :-)
