Hi Mikey. Just to let you know, my daughter was in New York over the New Year with her best friend. Based on my recommendation to your site, she went to the 'Hole in the wall' place where they had the most delicious and decently priced take-out char-siow rice. She can't wait to get back there (from London!) with me, to try all a yr other recommendations 😆. It's a joy to watch your videos. Mucho gracias! 👍

It's the original pho lol. During this video I had to see if Vietnamese people came from Yunnan and YUP. I was intrigued when I saw that this soup was so similar to pho from the ingredients to the way it's prepared. It's very cool to see how dishes evolved from one country to the next.

Mike, could you add the names and addresses for the restaurants you review in your videos? My gf and I are visiting NY at the end of March for a week and would love to try some of the places (especially the food court in Flushing you went with to Dan for the noodles video!). My gf is from HK and while there is great chinese food here in London, most Chinese restaurants here are Cantonese and we're really really keen to try more variety from other provinces (I went to China last year and LOVED the food in Sichuan and Guangxi).

That is fru fru bs. All any self respecting chef really wants is for you to enjoy your meal, and come back again, and bring your friends and family. Any chef who gets upset because of how I wish to sauce my meal, can hit the road. Clearly, he's cooking for his pleasure, not mine.

I have a question though, how does palate distinguish between the actual taste of the broth and the spiciness of all the hot oil you add to the dish? Yo Mike... I tried this place today thanks to encountering this video. I got interested in your channel about a week ago, by first running into your Vegas buffet video. I'm American-born Chinese, born during the 80s, from a Cantonese family. More English than Chinese in terms of language/culture, but I've been exploring my Chinese-side the last 10 years or so.I was born in the area where this restaurant is, Sunset Park, but closer to the Hispanic area of it. Live in nearby Bay Ridge since the 90s now, close to the water. Thanks for inspiring me to try this restaurant. I know the Cantonese, Vietnamese and Malaysian restaurants on 8th avenue pretty well, but if you can recommend me more lesser-known regional restaurants on 8th Avenue, I'd really appreciate it.I tried the guo qiao mi Xian today, and the suan la Jiao. Thanks again for leading me to this inspired choice today.

Awesome historical story, I looked up the restaurant and I am going soon. Thanks for your videos, they r great. If you like Latino food I recommend churrasco/skirt steak it's awesome and the fatty content is like our poor version of kobe/wagyu, although no comparison, try a Brazilian churasscaria, it's meat heaven all types of bbq meat, I usually make my own, but look up little Brazil town it's near the 40's in Manhattan close to time square. It's a different food question u will enjoy for the meat lover in you😊
