To all of you trying to get on here and argue politics. I stated very clearly on here that the discussion was not about politics, but it was a simple metaphor or illustration of a much larger universal truth. If you’re getting on here and trying to argue politics, you are the problem. You are so locked into pandemic, argument, that you cannot see the actual picture in front of you. You are simply illustrating the point I was making in the video from the negative side.

I've heard some people say lust is just extreme attraction, but lust is merely attraction without love and few seam to understand that anymore. This is a great video. You are spot on. I was forced to look back at my life as it all fell apart years ago, and I saw and connected how all the times I crossed the rubicon led me to that moment. It was at that point that I committed that no one and no thing will ever force me to break my integrity. And because of that, I feel the exact same about the politics as you described them. Just about every single day, I am confronted by life even on just the tiniest things. I used to make excuses or use the situation to excuse myself. Now, I live life far more seriously than anyone I know and am shocked at how much our entire society is willing to throw all integrity out the window for their own gains - political, financial, whatever. People should not be terrified if this candidate or that candidate wins. We should be terrified at how sick our society has become that we are where we are, and that we're even at the edge of the river - not just ready to cross, but racing to be the first to do so.

@davep29452 ай бұрын
That's a huge problem in this world and it's by design. Most people don't know much about the subjects that matter but they align what little they do know with what a political deity has told them. So when you try and discuss the issue for the issues sake they immediately go political and try to associate you as with them or against them based on how what you are saying in the moment aligns or doesn't with what they political God has told them to believe. They simply can't fathom that someone could know more about any subject than they do or their political idol does. So much so that they often don't know there is a completely different side to an issue that all major candidates have failed to address. We blame politicians for failures but it's the average voter who elects and re-elects the same da*n fools so who is really to blame?

I was making more money than I ever had or likely ever would. Then the government got involved, and the job of helping deserving folks out became a giveaway program. No accountability, no ethics, no sense of right or wrong. The attorneys couldn't care less. When I realized that wasn't going to change and couldn't face that atmosphere any more, I quit. I’m going to have to offer an apology up front, as this is a respectful, but disagreeing counter based 100% in factual data, not opinion, not brought upon by ideological dogma, nor media spin. Speaking as a one time practicing constitutional attorney, with a JD, and a very active hand in the Rule of Law, and it’s practice in this country, I can assure you, the lawful and factual reality is that Kamala Harris was in fact, in keeping with the set electoral laws and rules set forth by the democratic party, after securing the support of 2,350 delegates, the threshold required to earn the democratic nomination, which was uncontested by any other democratic party member, made the democratic candidate. President Biden’s decision to discontinue his run as a potential candidate was fully legal and of his own making. Where there discussions and decisions made that informed that decision? Of course. But that is not illegal, nor even abnormal. This is all above board and in keeping with the electoral process and mandates of our electoral system. That does not mean you have to either agree with nor like that system, just as you do not have to agree with nor like the laws that are currently in practice. But you DO, if you follow and believe in the Rule of Law, need to be able to a) respect them, b) follow them, and most importantly, should you disagree with them enough to want them changed, c) work with in that self same system, to change them. Opinion is one thing and everyone is free to have and share an opinion. But laws, facts, and data, while subject to interpretation and argument, are still not subject to fallacy. And as anyone who follows, practices, and upholds the Rule of Law will tell you, before you challenge a law or a situation that you claim is illegal, come prepared with, evidence, discovery, and citation. The burden of which has not been provided here. I do agree with the sentiment, that a moral and ethical person should have both a compass and a line that they will draw in the sand and say, across this line, I will not step, nor will I allow another to. However, that line nor moral or ethical code, should not be based on false testimony, inaccurate data, not the tin of “belief”. That is a paper tiger. I respect you Sir, admire you, and continue to look up to you. But please, I would ask you to not propagate fallacy in the name of that most important of tenants, The Rule of Law. Respectfully and with humility, Ethan Hilton

@ThiagoNogueira-iq4hiАй бұрын
@@MikellVanderlaanIt was lawful for the Democratic Party to substitute Joe Biden with Kamala Harris as their presidential candidate, as the substitution occurred before the Democratic National Convention and the official nomination deadline in most states. In the U.S., political parties retain the right to replace a candidate if necessary before the convention, and legal experts agree that the process adheres to party rules and existing electoral laws. According to election law, until the convention solidifies a nominee, parties have flexibility with delegate voting and can endorse a new candidate without breaching state or federal requirements. States typically set ballot deadlines around late summer, giving parties time to adjust if a candidate withdraws. While there could be minor procedural challenges in states with specific ballot rules, experts suggest that such issues are unlikely to invalidate the substitution. This is because national party rules and the First Amendment’s association rights usually give political parties significant leeway in candidate selection processes, and courts generally defer to party decisions in these cases. Thus, Harris's replacement of Biden remains within legal bounds, although the decision is unusual and has sparked political debate on succession within the Democratic Party.

For better or worse, i consume mostly liberal leaning news media, which definitely has the tendency to demonize Trump in an exaggerated way. I’m honestly wondering what you (or anyone else reading this) think about January 6th 2021 and Trump’s denial of Biden’s winning the election. I personally could see that as a Rubicon. I am NOT trying to say who’s right or wrong here- I’m genuinely curious what y’all think, as I kinda live in a left-leaning echo chamber. Just trying to be informed and engage with folks whose politics differ from mine in a respectful way, human to human. Much respect to you and all the folks on here! Staying logical and reasonable! ❤

As a lifelong Republican, I have to say that I think the Rubicon that was crossed on January 6th is a far more egregious error than resorting to voting for a nominee that wasn't the head of the ticket on the Democrat side. I generally enjoy DeWayne's videos and have watched for several years, but I think he missed the mark with this backhanded endorsement of Trumps actions on Jan 6th. And an example of selling out could not be more resonant than pointing out the cowardly Republicans who continue to accommodate and fall in line with Trumps lies and actions, but are only doing so to preserve their political careers.

This boundary has been crossed before, most notably with Gerald Ford in 1976.

I love your content and respect you tremendously. I will say the Democratic Party definitely could have rejected her but they didn’t. She was chosen and she was accepted by the party. And even with that Said the American people still don’t have to vote for her. On top of that the American people didn’t vote trump in. The same way you said “ the people didn’t have a choice “ the electoral colleges voted him in, NOT the popular vote. so basically the electoral colleges said “ no matter what the people want we are voting this way “. So that’s the same way Kamala became the parties nominee. I respect your choice of voting for who you like but it has to be accurate on both sides.

Always speaking truth to power. Smal wonder I've subscribed to this channel for a long while now. If America would simply return to "front porch" wisdom things would certainly be different.

Thank you for staying true to yourself. I really enjoy your videos. I've been growing in my journey and your thoughts on marriage, bible, poetry, are some examples. Thanks again and God bless the republic for which it stands

Respect the higher level thoughts you are talking about Dwayne regarding personal integrity. It’s the one thing you can’t put a price on and once you sell it you can’t get it back. As someone with only white in my beard it’s a fools errand to argue politics during a “personal integrity” discussion, they have nothing in common.

my personal rubicon was running away from home. I risked my safe (yet sad) childhood for taking control and becoming what I really wanted. It turned out in my favor, but I often think about it as the turning point where if I wouldn't have done it I'd live pretty miserable today

Good evening. Your talk about rubicons reminded me that I do have rubicons myself. It also reminds me of them. Without taking sides or mentioning candidates, I’ll say a rubicon I have is to never vote for somebody who has no rubicons, encourages other to cross rubicons and believes their rubicons are the only ones that need to be respected. I thank you for reminding me of this rubicon. I love this channel.

This is not the first time i have witnessed the Democrat party elect someone without the vote. I am a conservative that was living in Washington state in 2015 due to military service. I watched Bernie Sanders win that state by a landslide during the primaries. Jay Inslee the Governor at the time and a so called democratic "super delegate" took the win from him and gave it to Hillary. What disturbed me the most was that most people were ok with this. They would just say "that's the way the system works". I was more upset about this as a Republican than they were.

It sucks, but really I think Bernie was their controlled opposition. If he really stuck to the principals he talked about, he would 100% support Trump over the Democrats right now.

Another fabulous message. I love coming here to hear you make me think in a thoughtful, soft, hopeful way. I wonder what you think of Trump placing his family in literal control of the Republican Party. And while Harris may not have received a PRIMARY vote, she was nominated and elected at the DNC.

I believe that being a “yellow dog” voter for any party is the very definition of crossing the Rubicon for the sake of one’s petty party politics. I just don’t understand when anybody declares themself a safe bet for a party regardless of their candidate or their stance on important issues. It is as good as announcing that you are proud to have no standards, and that you don’t care to understand the issues that affect yourself and your neighbors. I see this with friends from both parties and I’m just embarrassed for them.
