I'm just an armchair observer, but I have to ask...does Iran really use its militant network as a deterrent force? If they didn't exist, would we really be bombing Iran right now? I also don't believe this was some huge escalation. Considering the events in Gaza, we're lucky it wasn't much worse. Iran's attack was mostly a symbolic one that was choreographed to fail, and likewise Israel's retaliation was designed to do minimal damage, and was also just for show. Lastly, the most important thing we can do to de-radicalize the region is to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. By that I mean we should compel Israel to dismantle the settlements and return to the 1967 borders. Israel's settlements are land grabs, the same as what Russia has done in Ukraine. If America doesn't restrain Israel and provide a fair and just solution, Arabs will continue turning to radicalism.

If Iran didn’t want to resist and pushback against western power or what they perceive to be western power, we wouldn’t be deterred them. They have chosen a conflictual relationship with the West because they want power and they have core beliefs that left unchecked would create situations of genocidal intent (their words not mine).

Why would Iran not build Nuke. India, China, Russia etc, will still trade. And once they have one, scantions will loosen.

Biden said don't, Iran did anyway.

Why are so many "experts" from the US so partisan? It's literally tiring.

they literally cannot get work if they don't stay on narrative. it's like the groupthink of the soviet union but a trillion times more effective because it is 'voluntary'. you want to work so you say the thing, and most men cannot accept a pay check to voluntarily say the thing (or more more importantly to not tell the whole story) everyday for year after year after year and not come to believe it. it's more effective in liberal societies than in authoritarian because then you can hold onto realty when someone is explicitly threatening you - in your mind you'll tell yourself 'they can make me say this but I will never believe it'. But when you do it 'voluntarily' for a better job, for a promotion, for a better life for your kids you rationalize it and then you actually internalize it and almost all come to believe it with all their hearts. That's a key reason liberal societies are so much more effective with propaganda. the people who say it by and large believe it. And it's also a key shortcoming with liberal propaganda. I've noticed these kinds of guys who get paid to analyze allow themselves to tell the most fantastical stories, history always began 12 hours ago. The tremendous ideological control of liberalism allows them to get away with more. And thus non-liberal nations without this 'buy-in' the from the 'culture-making' class into the project are forced to cleave closer to reality. Think of the all insane things the tv and guys like this have been telling us for 30 years. Just things if you pay attention you know are utter madness. That kind of thing can't happen outside western liberalism. They can't get away with it! I'm just trying to think back about all the times the western media told me with all the conviction in the world that some enemy was doing something to babies. chopping heads off, taking them out of incubators smashing them on the ground, baking them, raping. It's constant. And every time it turns out to be a lie.

They don't like talking about Ukraine anymore. They used to talk about it every episode. Things are busier than ever but they ain't talking. I guess the Cope Business for Ukraine ain't so good anymore. On to greener pastures.
