I've had great success with Rage craws and senko style stick baits rigged on a weighted weedless hooks. Toss them in to potholes and reds and trout will not hesitate to attack.

I use cotton Cordell red fins in silver and black and gold and orange they they wreck trout and redfish. Also use zoom horny toads, zoom flukes, storm chug bugs and KVD sexy dawgs just to mention a few bass baits that work well.

Manns Baby 1 minus and KVD something are lights out in shallow water here in Texas. Basically any wake bait.

Yeah wake baits are getting popular again for reds!

So when do you choose a spoon over a safety-pin spinner bait or visa-versa? I discovered your stuff last night and have been soaking up as much info as possible. 😂

Actually vertical jigging or fluttering

Wake baits do pretty good and I've thought about using a buzz bait or even a regular square bill crankbait

Hey Cap'n, off topic but I am curious what brand and size push/pull pole do you have I have a 20' C.C. and I am in need of one but not sure what exactly I'd want. I have gotten everything on your advice and so far everything I have learned from your videos has improved my saltwater flats fishing game and put on a whole another level. Thanks in advance!

I should have added that one… I’ve caught reds on that as well when I was a kid!

I once caught a Bonita on a Zara Spook, just have to keep an eye on the hooks and change them when they rust.

Yes sir an iconic lure
@johnkarges882910 ай бұрын
That’s a problem with the original full-sized non-rattling Zara Spook, they don’t come with saltwater hardware including the screw-in hook mounts or the screws.

I use a frog that is modified. Cut a hole in its butt and slice along the belly. Put either fresh shrimp, worms or fish guts in the slice. Great for top water fishing.

I am a bass fisherman who gets to fish Florida inshore about once a year. It is always incredible. I don't have the time to experiment with every bass lure, so this video is much appreciated. One bait I've not tried is a lipless crankbait. Is there any chance they'd catch fish? I have never seen anyone use a lipless crankbait inshore. Are they just too loud and intrusive for inshore fish?
@bayouburner281 Жыл бұрын
Just think of it like this:Predatory fish will strike almost anything that fly’s by their face. Salt or Freshwater

Nothing hangs in the water like a tuned glide bait. And the trout will smash them.
