Crossrope Bluetooth AMP Handles 2023 Review - are the crossrope AMP handles a luxurious mistake?

I was gifted the Bluetooth AMP handles after purchasing the classic weighted ones 6 months ago. I was super disappointed when I found out that in order to even use the AMP handles, you must purchase a $12/mnth subscription. I found that incredibly greedy given that I’d already purchased $100+ classic ropes and my partner purchased these $100+ Bluetooth handles. When all is said and done, this would be a $280 purchase year one + an additional $80/yr subscription annually…hundreds of dollars over the life of the ropes. I would think that we’d at least be able to free jump and simply count on the app without buying a subscription. This isn’t made clear enough at the time of purchase but is written is small text on the side I the box…Make it EXPLICITLY clear that these handles WILL NOT WORK with a paid subscription. 🤢

Just the fact that you have to pay $200 for the set and on top of that you need to pay for a subscription to get the best out of the handles is a let down for me, it feels like a cash grab.

100% agree. We discovered you can't even pair the AMP handles without a premium membership. Without the membership, the Bluetooth functionality is useless. We are beyond over the subscription business model and wish the handles could allow even basic functions in the free app like jump count or something.

We forgot to mention that we love that the crossrope AMP handles automatically shut off after 1 minute without pairing... this can help long term with battery usage. It would be great to see @crossrope improve the app functionality and user experience to be more geared toward the bluetooth handles. In the future, they should use USB-C as well. The current use of micro USB is a bummer.

i agree i ended up just buying the regular handles and ropeless jump ropes separately and i just track my minutes and calories burned with my fitbit

Oh no! You didn't have the right version of the app! That explains why none of the features you tried worked. Happy send you a pair to borrow for free with the correct app version to see if you like it and zero risk or charge unless you decide to keep them. Coming soon! We are trying to be thorough and fair. So far we are experiencing issues of the Bluetooth handles disconnecting midworkout. It's super frustrating.

They are expensive. I bought mine second hand on marketplace for £56 Inc delivery. Which is about $70, ish. The app is around £45-65 a year. Or $10 a month. Personally, given how many workouts and all the feature of the app, I don’t think that’s expensive. The ropes on the other hand…. Amazon sell them, around £35 (1.26 USD to £1) - the US has them vastly available in many places! It’s no different to buying kettlebells or workout apparatus. All in all. I’ve not spent £150 (in fact, less) on crossropes. I’ve got amp handles. A 1/4lb rope and a 3oz speed rope. I pay for the Crossrope app yearly on or around Black Friday. On average. It’s around £15-20 a month. It’s still cheaper than a gym membership!

You have the wrong version of the app! They overhauled the app for use with AMP, and you need that version. I got the AMP handles a few weeks ago and I absolutely love them and the app integration, especially the targeting to help keep the tempo up! I know it isn't intentional, but your video is pretty misinformative.....a luxurious mistake if you will!
