In this video I do 30 minutes of jump rope every day for 30 days. This is my first jump rope challenge, and haven't had much experience with jump rope workouts in general. I am really proud of my jump rope transformation and the before and after photos that came from this 30 day challenge. I hope it can inspire you guys to try a 30 minute jump rope workout for yourself...or i guess it doesn't have to be 30 minutes. But try jump rope, and hopefully you can enjoy it as a fun fitness outlet like I have been.

Jumping rope is definitely my favorite exercise. I typically do 1 minute with 20 seconds of rest, and repeat that 29 times for a total of 30. I used to jump 30 minutes straight, but that got too hard on my feet. That 20 seconds of rest is great for my feet.

Before lockdown I remember seeing a guy at the gym jumping rope and thinking to myself: "I bet that is more difficult then when I was a kid", come lockdown I take it up and yes, it was WAY more difficult, but that is part of the appeal, the satisfaction as you get better is immense. I remember my first 100, my first complete song, working on cross-overs etc. 19 months later I am still loving it and it's still a core part of my workout. Great video, and well done on progress, mastering those tricks and footwork in 30 days is very impressive!! 👍

I used to box and naturally jumping rope was always a part of the workout routines. Honestly, there were days when jumping rope was harder than sparring. But when your body is rested and recovered, you can go into a zone that is indescribable. I love jumping and this video has motivated me to get back into it. Thank you.

Another great video. You guys really do a good job of showing what realistic results look like and I liked the test at the end of comparing strength levels. I would love to see a video on the impact of isometric exercises on strength. Since Brendan works out a lot with weights, it would be interesting to see you measure your PR for a few different lifts before doing 30 days of only isometrics and what it looks like afterwards. Considering isometrics are really space efficient, beginner friendly and require pretty much no equipment, if you were able to get very good results from only doing isometrics, it would probably appeal to more people who are starting their fitness journey.

I started skipping rope for just 10 minutes, at first I was tripping, I didn't have good form. After some days, I built some resistance and I could skip rope for 15 and 20 minutes. My legs became much stronger and I was able to do some tricks after around two months. I recommend having some rest days and also stretching before and after. As you get good, it's a fun exercise.

I just like to put my tunes in go 3-5 minutes till the song ends. (I feel like I go at a pretty fast pace anyway) take a 1 minute or 30 second break and do that for about 35 minutes. I also use a 2 pound weighted rope.

Any suggestions on how to improve my timing, how high I should jump, how fast I should swing the rope? Thanks

Check the length of your rope! Hold your rope like you would at the beginning of a workout and see how much slack you have. Stand on the rope. If it’s taught, it may be too short. If you have excess hanging, wrap the extra around the handles until you get a happy medium. Even if you’ve got a perfect pace, the lack of or excess of rope will through you off your roll

My go to cardio is jump rope. It's the best. It is hard at first but as long as you build yourself up incrementally over time you'll be smashing it very quickly. I use the same speed rope and its awesome. Always stretch out before and after, particularly calf muscles. Can't emphasize this enough. It makes a huge difference. I use a tabata timer app which as a beginner was 30 seconds jumping, 15 seconds rest. That built me up to where I now do 3.5min sprints with the rope combined with other HIIT routines and core work melded into a 1hr workout. Jump rope is always the foundation to keeping my heart rate high in between every set. Have never felt so fit and I don't have to leave my house!

When I first started with the Crossropes, I looked like someone had put to the whipping post. My legs and arms looked awful, but the worst was when I whipped my back. Sweat soaked t-shirt and that 1/4lb rope whipped me from shoulder to hip across my back. Wow! That hurt! When I started going up through the heavier ropes, I didn’t get whipped as much but my finger looked just like yours. But now, 3 years later, I’m pretty good with them. Good work!

To be fair, you said to Brendan that it was a strenght competition. Even with weighted jump ropes it still feels more like a cardio competition. Loved to see your improvements though :)

I started this week, on the first day i played around with the rope for almost and hour, with unregular rests between the sets. But as I woke up the next day my legs were totally WRECKED. Really, getting downstairs felt really painful. I think maybe I've pushed to hard for the first day. But it was impossible to jump again on the second... Even today (2 days after jumping) i'm still feeling pain on the legs. Maybe tomorrow I'll try again... Saw that you have a mat, do you recommend buying one?

Good challenge and good video. Would've been nice if you shown your recovery routine in more detail. I'm actually surprised you didn't suffer any sort of leg pain (i.e. knee/ankle pain, shin splints etc), from day one through to day 30.

No u didn't... I don't believe u.. 1 hour daily it's just too much... And also when jumping daily your legs starts to hurt... U need to give time for recovery... Any way... Just no.. it doesn't adds up

@@jarkdoke do you guys rest in these 30 min or 30 min without any rest ?? I'm confused
@jarkdoke
@jarkdoke 9 ай бұрын
@@doodle7060 you can take a rest necessarily within 30 minutes, just for awhile to take a breath or drink necessarily, it's normal if you're beginner, you can split it to a shorter duration like 5 minutes x 6 sets, or 10 minutes x 3 sets. don't overwork your body because it could lead to injury, just be consistent.

I just started jumping rope and after 1 minute of jumping my heart rate was 160bpm. I've been lifting weights for 4 years. I'm 6ft 200lbs and jumping rope is smoking me. Time to actually do cardio I guess.

Getting whipped sucks. It's a right of passage but the satisfaction of being able to crossjump and do cool stuff is worth it imo

In the 30 mins workout, does it include the breaks? Or does the timer stays stagnant when taking a break?
@amberlynadams1610

It can’t include the breaks because some people could break for 5-10 minutes cutting workout time tremendously

Thank you for sharing an amazing review! 😊🙏🏼Found your video after looking for a weighted rope review; very good to know that even a 1LB rope makes such a huge difference vs a speed rope. And I certainly remember getting those same whip marks on my arms and legs from the rope hitting me especially at the start of a rope regimen 😬 Great work though on improving so much!

I'm a 10K runner with 6" pace, but when delta swept my country i have no choice to stop running, then i do some research and jump rope catch my eye. For start, same as you, i did the 30 days 30 mins challenge with speed rope, definetely best fat loss with lowest risk for injuries. But it took time to learn and find the rythm. I loss around 5Kg during the period and now i can see my 6 packs. Very happy with the result 🤩
