No doubt the subie has an excellent four wheel drive system one of the best in a stock car. But in no way is this trail hardcore and now this car is damaged. This does not have the ground clearance needed to get through this without damage to the vehicle.

No never took any damage, only blew my clutch but was able to get out unscaved

Are you lifted? I just got a 2021 and was thinking about lifting it. I had Wranglers since 2005, just made the change to Subaru. Really like the Crosstrek, nice having 4 doors and a quieter ride with better gas mileage. I don’t run trails very much anymore, but I’m on beaches and rough dirt rock roads to hit reach parts of the beach...I was thinking about buying a lift kit, unsure if it really even needs it for what I do, but I would like the clearance. Let me know if you’re lifted

Yeah I’m lifted 2” by rough country. Very affordable and very good lift kit

I went for the lift to be able to fit bigger tires but your wheel wells are larger so you could just put bigger tires and you’d be at the same hight as I was

I have a 2017 forester xt. Ive been wanting to get some wheels and tires... Ive been looking at LP Adventure's site. Im a complete newb... to this.. A bit overwhelming to me.

LP adventure is just a name brand. I always run with other company’s because they aren’t overpriced for no reason. I used rough country not sure if it’s the same parts. Most of my builds are on a budget but the safe rout is always the name brands

I have been to Ladee Flats a couple of times. This particular trail is a super easy trail for any stock BOF SUV or AWD crossovers with a small lift. I wouldn't say the Subaru destroyed the Jeep trail but rather it was able to handle slightly harsher trails than the usual gravel roads. Subaru make capable AWD vehicles but they will need aftermarket lifts to get some ground clearance. Additionally, the unibody, CVT transmission, and weaker suspension components tend to take a harsher beating on these rutted trails (not rally style gravel trails) than traditional BOF SUVs. I love seeing modified Subaru tackling trails but they have limits too. A Crosstrek is a decent weekend overlander "Hey look I can do it too" vehicle, , but not a great overland platform for the challenging terrain simply because it will not handle the long term beating.

Subaru's are the best AWD ever built..but i think the ground clearence not designed for terrain/ trail like this..
