I had a very active lifestyle, was involved in several sports and Marshall arts and sadly had suffered a couple of serious injuries, I thought I knew pain! I am now nearly 12 years into a struggle with CFS and fibromyalgia, now I understand pain. It is a constant companion, it can do very funny things to you both physical and mental, occasionally emotional too. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but for anyone suffering. We are NOT ALONE!

"Clawed at the Laminate" line gets me everytime! Especially after hearing his life story in his 8 chapters, read and told by Ren himself, located in his Troubles playlist! Must watch all 8 chapters BEFORE listening to his song Troubles! Its the finale to his story, hus 8 chapters!
@Dr.Brummel6 ай бұрын
Your absolutely right.👍 Listening to the chapters changed the meaning/understanding of a lot of Rens songs for me retrospectively. Everybody who's interested can find them on his RenMakesStuff channel. He tells his story from the end of his friend Joe over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and attempts of treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Very personal and emotional videos. Even if you thought you understood Rens songs beforehand, you understand them even better afterwards and they become even more intense.

Thanks for the reaction. I watch a lot of reaction videos, because when they're well done, it let's me recapture some of the feelings that I heard when I was first falling in love with the song. The reactor's ability to elicit that reaction in me is more important (to me) than the analysis, even though I do appreciate good analysis. I've never watched one of your reactions before, but you really succeeded in making me feel something. So, thanks for that, and I hope you and your loved ones are doing well.

For me this is totally relatable. If I hadn't retired years ago, I would be collecting disability now. Thankfully I am still mostly physically capable, but with many limitations. Makes it hard to get a lot of things done when it hurts. But I am old now, and slowed down a lot anyway. My main problem now is my vision, I would hate to not be able to drive anymore, so I have scheduled eye surgery that I hope still happens this coming August. I really nervous about it.

There is so much that speaks to me in this song. I feel companionship, education, love, understanding, empathy, anger, fear, & even resolution. My favorite line is "I kneel at the alter of my own disease and beg!!" Boy, I've sure been there. It's so therapeutic to have someone admit they're in pain like that. I feel very seen in Ren"s songs. And this is a great community! Thanks for the kick-arse reviews! 👊🏻💜

@Mhantrax6 ай бұрын
My journey through pain has taken me from an exploded eye (from a thrown egg) where they had to sew the eyeball back together and shove needled into the front of the eyeball and underneath the eyeball to numb it, scraping the nerves...wait, where was I? Oh yes that was at 17. Also in my life I have face f**ked the sidewalk multiple times on bicycles (most recently in an adult electric scooter going 18 mph) to now having some osteoarthritis in my elbow that can get deeply painful. While at the chiropractor where she really helps that pain, it hurts like a true demon. And I started laughing. The pain hurt like hell, and I started laughing uncontrollably. She looked at my like I was truly insane. Somehow that reaction stuck and now when I hurt, I laugh. It just goes to show that relationships with pain can be really complex...lol
@thetalantonx6 ай бұрын
She must have been new, because trauma gets trapped in the body and a sudden release of it through chiropractry or other manipulation or through deep massage can trigger hysterical laughter or tears. It's really common when you're dealing with some who has seen some shiz like we have.
