I know i have the Orange Crush Pro 120, which is endorsed by Kirk from Crowbar. And i really wanted to use it for this video. But after days of trying to find the right tone, i just couldn't get the sound i wanted for these songs. Maybe the missing piece of the puzzle was the Metal Zone that Kirk uses as a boost, i don't know. Anyway, i went with the Model T preamp instead.

I’m sure the Metal Zone is a big part of it too but you had a great sound regardless.

He recently went back to Randall. But this is still accurate with Orange. Sounds amazing Brother! You certainly have his tone dialed in. Crowbar is my favorite band! Probably can't tell because of the music I make on my channel that I'm writing from. I've creating all different genres of music since I was a kid. I'm an old man now lol. Deathcore, Metalcore, Doom and Sludge is my favorite though. 🤘🏼💀🎸

Kirk is on my Mount Rushmore of riffers. So few mix heaviness and emotion the way he does.

You should do a breakdown of different DOWN riffs. Or from any of the other bands Kirk is in. Kirk is an absolute riff machine!

yeah, I've done Crowbar and Eyehategod now, so it makes sense to do Down next.

Nice choices, it must have been hard to pick a favourite 6 - all their riffs (especially on the odd fellows rest album) are ridiculously good

This is awesome, I learned a good amount of their first album earlier this year so I’ve worn them out a bit and this has given me some new stuff to try. Also I recently listened to plasmic and pure, I REAALLY wanna learn that song by crowbar

Love some crowbar, you should really try it with metal zone, and how is your new repaired les paul? Are you liking it, how is it compared to your previous guitars comfort and tone wise? You should do that video of 1 song 4 guitars but with 5 now including this beauty of an axe
@DoomTones2 жыл бұрын
Its crazy heavy, 9 lbs / 4 kg. And looks stunning. Epiphone are really making quality stuff with this "inspired by gibson" line. The tone is quite incredible, from high gain doom to overdrive classic rock tones, it sounds sick. Im just sitting around for hours playing it, barely touching my other guitars. lol. The repaired headstock is holding well, and im glad i didnt change the frets, because even though they are bent at the high E string, it still does not affect intonation or bends at all. Dont fix it if its not broken, right? Its just an aethetic issue.
@zacru70072 жыл бұрын
@@DoomTones Glad you are liking it, do you like how heavy it weights? I am more of an sg guy because of how lightweight it is, but I bet a heavy les paul would feel so bad, it would be good
@DoomTones2 жыл бұрын
I play the SG when i learn riffs, its easy to pick up and put back. But with this les paul its like a piece of furniture in your hands, it feels like a commitment when you sit down with it. lol.
