Gonna say that I do suuuuper love Cloudspire. Though I would say that the game DOES have co-op. Every faction's got two co-op missions in addition to 4 solo missions, plus there's a few other co-op missions in the 'bonus' scenarios. I saw ya mention that it didn't in yer vid, but it most certainly has plenty of that. But honestly? It is a rough game to recommend USUALLY not because it's too hard to learn so long as you legit take it step-by-step, but BECAUSE it is such a specific style of game and that I don't want people to try to buy it unless they are INTO that style of game. But thanks to the power of Tabletop Simulator, showing people how to play on that is super easy (Credit to the mod-maker for that, they did a fantastic job, and even updated it pretty recently to make it even easier to run!) But UNTIL I can get someone to PLAY a round or two on Tabletop Sim, I find it hard to recommend due to it's large price point. Not because I feel the game isn't worth it, but because it -is- an investment. But the amount of different things that can change the game and cause you to have to adapt your strategies in that "You can't get EVERYTHING, so you need to lean into SOME idea", and the fact each faction has multiple ways it can lean if ya need it to is just fantastic. Just the base 4 factions alone got so many different ways to play with'em by the end that it gets crazy. So with 10 factions? I'm absolutely stoked. But that's BECAUSE I love the game and love playing all three of it's diff modes. To anyone on the fence for getting the game? Try it on Tabletop Sim first. Try the solo mode, the co-op, the PvP (1v1, 3-4 player free for all, 2v2), the endless survival modes, just try ANYTHING and see if you like it, before ya go for it. It's a great game, but he is right, TRY it first. ---On a side note, I myself am droppin' quite a bit with a 400 pledge for both all the stuff and finally getting all the premium stuff. Since this is the last campaign, and I do love the game as much as I do, I figured "screw it, in for a penny, in for a pound" and am finishing up my collection with it. Thank gosh for the stretch pay though, nice to just let it get trickled out, rather than lump sum.

FYI there are two parallel but incompatible Evolution games, one from North Star and one from Right Games. The one you mentioned that never arrived is the Right Games line. That said, North Star already has Evolution and Oceans and now Nature, so your point stands. I was initially excited for Nature but I don't think there's enough difference for me to back that when I already have the prior two.

@@koonfasa those health chips are a must in my opinion. The cheap plastic ones that come with the game just feel off with the rest of the weighted chips.

I just had to take a look at Restart to see if they were even going to fund, and whilst they'd met their goal, they've cancelled funding. I saw one comment speculate that it was because they'd set an unrealistic funding goal, but no, no, no, they say it's because they want to make the game "even better" 😂. Oh, and they're claiming they're going to refund everyone the pre-pledge.

We have played Kavango a couple of times since receiving it. We really enjoyed it! One thing I'll say is that it is a major table hog.

Ecologic artwork is stunning but some folk are worried that it's being rushed to market. They're aiming to have it delivered by Christmas. He's producing it in Poland so no 6 months on a boat from China, but that said he must be pretty sure of the game to get it out so quickly. I've backed it just off the art. :)

I’m always amazing by how poorly people defend the $1 pre-pledge (they also had a "if you've been burned by soup, you're going to blow on yogurt" response)… that’s not to say that all people complaining about the pre-pledge do it right, but most of the time they give viable reasons and/or a source to look at as a “this person explains why;” on the other hand, I’ve never seen a good version of “here are actual reasons pre-pledges help.” I left a comment on a video giving 3-5 reasons why I didn’t like pre-pledges (even pointing out when that specific person never mentioned a pre-pledge in a preview they did, so how were we supposed to know about it?); they replied with a comment that essentially boiled down to “FOMO doesn't matter, but the $1 really helps devs… but it’s exactly the same as clicking to be notified… anyways, it’s stupid to care about,” then deleted my comment and highlighted their own response.

It's weird that any campaigns are successful without using it, and that any campaigns were successful before the $1 pre-pledge was created. At this point, my response to anyone defending the $1 pre-pledge is simply, "OK LaunchBoomer." Because, they're not going to listen to your concerns, and they're going to rationalize and excuse any actions they've taken.

It's one of the few games that I enjoy solo. But, I'm not sure I'd buy it to play it at that count. The solo missions seem very puzzle-y to me. It makes for an interesting game to solve and there's some randomness with the dice, but I can't see myself ever replaying any of the solo campaign. There are more scenarios if you're willing to play two factions for the coop modes. But, I don't know that the overhead would make that worth it. I wouldn't buy Cloudspire unless you're able to get it played 2-player. I also wouldn't buy anything more than the core box for Cloudspire unless you've played it.

Found an interesting reason not to back a campaign over the weekend. Thankfully last week you freed me from backing twisted cryptids and I was going to back unmatched but unfortunately the owner of restoration games decided he wanted to sign his name to a political campaign that I’m not a big fan of. I hate bringing up politics but like, they started it. 🤷‍♂️

Not to be a downer of Citizens of the Spark as i think it looks super fun and is exactly the type of game i would normally go for, but one thing ive noticed with alot of these kickstarters that ive previously backed, is they dont mention tax, vat and import duties until near the bottom of the page, if they do at all. To their credit, Citizens of the Spark do, but for me in the Uk, this would end up being a 60 dollar game by the time it gets to me - for a card game! I want to back it, but for me, that is just too much for a simple albeit interesting card game. I think the VAT and import duties is worth highlighting in future because its a hidden fee on top of the initial pledge and postage that can be another 20 per cent on top of everything else! That's a decent amount of money when you think how much the product would sell in normal retail. 🙏
