What effort? The russian army retreated to the winter positions on the left side of the Dnepr River and took majority of Kherson population (150k out of 200k city population). The armed forces of ukraine lost 9k of soldiers lives and could not come close to Kherson for months. They are now moving in into unoccupied city, cheered by few remaining svidomits. Internet is off, no journalists allowed . the pillage and murder are starting now.
