Really cool rear end! It looks like a mix between an old school Supra and GTR. Good stance and cool chrome Porsche wheels too. I always enjoy looking at your custom supercars! You are one of the cleanest builders with the coolest designs. Great work.
@crowkillers7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Timothy..! I think one reason behind my builds having a "clean" look is that I spend a lot of time reworking areas in the mindset of what an official designer would do and make the build efficient and practical... I think many times builders rush their mocs just to get them out to the public without thinking about mechanisms or even structural areas that could be greatly improved.. I spent months just working on getting the HOG shifting switches to work reliably.. This module had gone through about 10 changes before I was satisfied...
@Gtimmy137 жыл бұрын
crowkillers Unfortunately I gave up on my moc awhile ago because I kept finding places where I could improve the structure and simplicity of my design. I found myself happy with the suspension and steering, but I could never quite get the chassis right. I think a lot of people struggle with creating a large, strong chassis with plastic parts. I admire builders who can create a solid chassis with a decent looking body.

They actually do. You have to buy multiple of them, rip them apart, put them alltogether in a big box, shake it and e voila you've got everything you need. Detailed plans are in the internet otherwise this video was so long and detailed, you probably could watch it frame by frame and have a free instruction on how to build the details. Otherwise figure it out yourself, that's what LEGO was once meant for ... well okay ... I'm lying ... I guess they never originally aspired, that people with an PhD in mechanical construction and enough time and a well funded retirement funds to pay for all their leisure projects will put that much effort into constructing things. But hey, what do you expect, when fixing a kid at early age with LEGO and planting a lifelong addiction?

It would be even better if you could connect it to an RC set-up.
@crowkillers7 жыл бұрын
If I add RC components, then I would have to eliminate all of the cool mechanical stuff, and in the end, it will be too slow because of the size.. I prefer the large models to be more "Desktop" with manual functions.. The smaller vehicles are cool to RC to get some performance out of..
@PockyFiend7 жыл бұрын
OK, got it.
@121710100110107 жыл бұрын
Stupid question, but why does the motor slow down when you change gears instead of speeding up? Like i always thought when you increased your gear you sacrificed torque for speed.
@crowkillers7 жыл бұрын
Normally the electric motor would be where the fake engine is mounted and you would see the wheel speed increase as you went up in gears, but since I have the electric motor mounted to the rear differential, everything is running backwards... It's easier to see the speed differences when shifting gears at the fake V8 engine than at the wheels..
@121710100110107 жыл бұрын
oh i see thanks that makes a lot of sense.
@crowkillers7 жыл бұрын
I have some other older videos with the motor running like it normally should, but you can't see exactly what is happening...

@crowkillers7 жыл бұрын
This wheel base of this model is a few studs longer than the 42056 Porsche set and it is designed very differently.. All of the black Technic panels are available from Lego including the new 3 x 11 curved panels which are in the new 42070 set... Yes! Engine and wheels aren't connected. In a real car though, it's the other way round, when you shift into neutral you can red line your engine and the wheels won't turn

shifter in neutral, engine not running and the rear wheels spinning me: ohh, yeah totally realistic.
@crowkillers4 жыл бұрын
The electric motor is running at the rear differential because it is easier to see the difference in engine speed when the gears are being changed. Of course in real life it would be the opposite, but for a demonstration in the gears, this was easier to see.
