King Charles was presented with the symbols of his authority in Scotland - the Crown, the Sceptre and the Sword of State - known as the Honours of Scotland during a day of pomp, pageantry and prayer in Edinburgh.
Scotland's leading figures gathered at St Giles' Cathedral for the service, also attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales, known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland. Report by Matthew Covell.

I think it appropriate the King, Queen, and Prince wore their Order of the Thistle robes. The late Queen Elizabeth II was criticized by some in 1953 for wearing a day dress and carrying a purse rather than donning more ceremonial attire, but this was at the urging of the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, who was adamant it wouldn't be seen as a "Scottish coronation." Appropriately, though, the Crown of Scotland rested on the late Queen's coffin as she lay in state at St. Giles even if she never wore it.

They don't put Scotland's crown on the Monarchs head because it is very brittle and fragile. The crown is hundreds of years older than the England/Welsh crown. The Welsh/English crown is quite a modern make by most European crown standards.

You're absolutely right. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if Will and his family somehow died, and Harry would be next in line to the throne. Given all that's happened around Harry and his family, and how he's not that bright a person, I can tell you this. If he were to become King and Meghan become Queen, then the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth Realms, their dependencies and territories, and the Commonwealth, would be beyond F***ed.

The SNP was very much a fringe element until the general election of 2015, when it exploded and won 56 out of the 59 Scottish seats. It currently holds 45, and at the next election it will be lucky to retain 20. The road to independence is probably closed.

When the British Monarch is coronated at Westminster Abbey, they use the St. Edward's Crown (the Crown of England) for the actual coronation, however the Scottish of the British element lies, not in the Honours, but in the Stone of Scone, which is the stone placed on the throne of Scottish kings before being seized by Edward I in 1296. Also the commonly-worn Imperial State Crown worn for Openings of Parliament represents all of the nations of the United Kingdom, not just England and Wales. A similar parallel is seen with the election of a new Pope. The Papal Coronation/Inauguration formally invests the newly-elected Pope authority of being the Primate of the Roman Catholic Church and Head of the Vatican City State (a.k.a. the Holy See), however the Pope is also the Bishop of Rome, and after the Coronation/Inauguration, he is invested, in another ceremony at the Archbasilica of St. John Laetaran, as Ordinary of the Diocese of Rome, of which the day-to-day oversight is carried out by the Cardinal Vicar of Rome on behalf of the Pope (much like the Bishop of Dover - as "Bishop in Canterbury" - carries out the day-to-day episcopal functions of the Archbishop of Canterbury within the Diocese of Canterbury in the Church of England).

Note from a heraldry nerd: if you notice on the really colorful coat with the coat of arms worn by the Lord Lyon (called a herald's tabard), there are two arms of Scotland and one each for England and Ireland. Usually, in the rest of the world, there would be two of the English arms and one for Ireland and Scotland, but all arms in Scotland are different to put the Scottish royal arms at greater precedence than the other arms.

People complain about every thing today . You can always plant peas and beans and tomatoes and peppers and watermelons and okra and squash and so much more to have your food for the whole winter . Seeds do not cost that much but produce a lot . You can always plant in pots or five gallon buckets if your limited in space as land . But there is never any reason to.go hungry. We were poor growing up but we never knew it because we had a garden grew all our vegerables and food for the winter . Peas and beans are a great protein .. We did raise chickens for eggs . We raised pigs. We had all.we needed to live a good life a happy life . These days people are lazy in.these new generations and complain and complain there spoilt by labtops and cellphones and twitter and facebook and all other platforms online . Get out side make a garden to feed your family . Do something productive that teaches your childrene to live off the land .

That information is out of date, King Charles has just returned £80million from the Crown Purse and given those of us in need £250million out of his own business money. We each pay £1.96 to the Royals every year.
