Awesome review mate, my switch is basically a roguelike/roguelite machine and this game looks like it will fit in perfectly for the price.

Hey T&T, yea I know there have been so many released this year and the majority of them have been pretty great, I'd say I've probably reviewed about 6 or so on my channel so far lol, I'm a big fan though so I don't mind.

Hey mine too, I am in love with the genre. Check out City of Brass: the levels are randomly generated and there is so much detail! Im 105 hrs in and im still finding new details. Caveblazers is another one of my favorites

Hey felyx, I played Dofus when it first released on pc and enjoyed it, I have no idea how multiplayer would work in clown trick but would be a cool inclusion to see.

The artwork is impressive in this game. Overall, from the footage you've shown it shares the similarities of Crypt of the Necrodancer only without rhythm at play. Fun stuff.

It is essentially the same genre of game, I did have part of my script mentioning Necrodancer and Tangledeep but removed it 🙂

Yea I think so too Dan, it has a lot to offer for those who enjoy more strategic Roguelikes.

@@SwitchStars I will be picking this up. I mainly ever play roguelikes anymore. The shield idea reminds me of Octopath traveler. This game only makes it more interesting because it's turn based as a well. I only hope to see more games like this in the future. Perhaps something with more characters and builds on a single screen.

@@WitchDoctor87 Yea many modern roguelikes have gone real-time, but I still enjoy a slower paced strategy roguelike.

Awesome review man, and do you recommend the Switch version over the PC? I wonder what the differences are compared to the two versions of the game
@SwitchStars4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Melficecoe, I haven't played the PC version but I believe it's control scheme is better with keyboard and mouse, but that's possibly the only benefit, I prefer being able to sit back on the sofa with the switch though.

@@SwitchStars Yeah I see your point, and I think I'll end up with the Switch version as well!

@@melficecoe I dont think the controls are terrible on switch, I mainly found issues with having use the right thumbstick to aim in a direction and sometimes accidentally moved 2 spaces.

I need help! I just got this game and theres a game breaking glitch where no matter what I do after I beat the first dungion boss the game freezes up and doesn't allow me to progress! I've beaten the boss 3 times now and it does the same thing! I am really at a lost and now I want my money back because I can't get past that point! I also can't find any information about it! I don' t know what to do if I should delete my save, Start over or delete the game and reinstale it or call Team 17 and request a patch! )
@SwitchStars4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mina, I never experienced this issue when I played, the only thing I can suggest is backing up your save and then re-installing the game, there may have been an issue on install which caused something to become corrupt.

What is the performance like on switch?
@SwitchStars4 жыл бұрын
It's mainly fine j03h, I did experience a little slowdown in a couple of areas, mainly due to a bunch of things happening all at once but only briefly and nothing persistent.

The unfortunate nature of roguelikes 😂
@shadowremorse4 жыл бұрын
not sure what this guy is talking about, crown trick is one of roguelike that is least affected by rng i played, i mean you even get 3 choices of your relic when you defeat a boss. the only rng is if you get a legendary weapon, its gonna be a pretty ez run
@SwitchStars4 жыл бұрын
Elle, how does this comment make any sense unless you were being sarcastic, the combat mechanics aren't RNG, but level layouts, enemies, items, weapons, relics, dungeon modifiers, shop stock, gacha and slot machines.... But yea not much RNG here.
@TheRamboCommando4 жыл бұрын
@@SwitchStars haha 😊
@TheCain912 жыл бұрын
@@SwitchStars But at last, it's less RNG dependent than other hard games or roguelites. I expected a hard game for the random factor applied at turn based rpg with varios weapons and lots of power ups (and a few reviews saying that it's hard), but at last, I beat the first boss and 2 of 3 next bosses at first try when reached, and not for luck or broken weapons (just reached one with legendary wespon). It's thanks to manage properly the familiars (chosing and using it), the broke guard and the main weapon (even I beat a boss in a run just for test one weapon tipe). It's relatively easy to kill enemies before they hit you even of they reach you one or two times (teleport). I consider unfair compare roguelikes between them because the point of the every game It's the genere it self at this point. But games like Darkest Dungeon or Slay The Spire are more dependent of the RNG to achieve properly runs and are very frustrating. Like a 70% dependent to put some number. Otherwise, games like Downwell o Rising Hell are 0% dependent form RNG. I don' think Crowns Trick are at 0% RNG, but it's very far from that "70%" from DD or StS and it's very enjoyable to play even if you just want to try weapons on a long play. PS: Excuse me if I a wrote something wrong or strange
@SwitchStars2 жыл бұрын
I'd say anything roguelike has RNG, if the levels are randomly generated then that's RNG. Downwell is highly dependant on skill, but the levels are procedurally generated, so RNG still plays a factor when it comes to an easier set of screens to work through.
@TheCain912 жыл бұрын
@@SwitchStars Well, yes, the generated map comes from the RNG, but I mean that on a lots of roguelite games it's not the main point to put difficulty, like Downwell or Crown Trick. On Downwell the difficulty comes to the Arcade tipe game and on Crown Trick comes from the management of options like a Turn based game. The random factor it's just a tool to put replayabiliti, not difficulty at all. For that it's why I don't care if the game it's a roguelite with random procedural generated levels to compare with others roguelikes just for implement that tool. That's why I see a big gap of difficulty from de RNG with other games and I consider unfair compare between them for that. I would see more fair a comparation between Crown Trick and Crypt of the Necrodancer or even Pokemon Mistery Dungeon because de random thing it's nearly pointless. And compared with them, it's not necesary harder. I don't know if I've been able to explain myself well or if I've just repeated myself a lot xD.

3?!!! Bit of a harsh review matey. This game has gotten 80's from the majority its easily a 4 but you see it as a 60ish 3 stars game? Idk bout dat. 🤔 kinda SHOCKED.
@SwitchStars4 жыл бұрын
As I always say its my own personal rating, my main issue was primarily with the number of variables at play, unlike most other roguelikes where you frequently have pickups which synergise well, with this I felt there wasn't quite the same mechanics. Don't get me wrong I like the game a lot but hitting the second set of dungeons was a big spike in difficulty and very rarely did you feel equipped to handle the groups of enemies you faced.
