No difference just intake on other side. P71 is basically a heavy mustang gt 4.6 with 4 doors.

I have to laugh at these fellas, who grab a junkyard engine, toss it in their vehicle, add a bolt on supercharger to it and assume everything is going to be OK... production cars with atmospheric aspirated engines, are not designed to handle the extremes of pressure and temperature found with forced pressurized engines. The latter requires different piston metallurgy, very different piston rings, different valves and valve seats, as a bare minimum. This is not to mention gasket requirements, in order to handle the extremes of pressure and heat. So.... Can you use a Crown Vic engine 4.6L in your GT Mustang .... the answer is Yes/If... yes/If your simply swapping one atmospheric aspirated engine for another, although you may find the cam profiles to be different as the crown vic is focused more upon torque that high RPM HP .... However, if your looking to force pressurize the engine, then you need to consider modifying internal components in order the handle the extremes of forced pressurization, else eventually, the atmospheric aspirated components will fail.

Ppl, get a NPI block n put your PI top end on it, best way to go about it if you don't want to build it but want more power via higher compression..

I’m looking at buying a built 98 crown Vic engine and put it in my 01. It is a cobra clone engine now (4v) all forged. I’m a bit worried this won’t fit or workout in my 01. I’m getting the built trans with it as well. Not that that matters much. Your thoughts on what I may need to put this together ? Thanks.

Lol I had the same thing to mines I got a grand Marquis out of a 05 and had a guy put it in I didn't it would work until the junkyard told me and the crown Vic engines are cheaper
