Xavier Mondragon Jr it’s still really dangerous and illegal he could’ve killed somebody, now of course the person running could’ve killed somebody too but when a cop is responsible especially for killing a pedestrian, the city is held responsible and can make the whole force look bad. Bottom line, it’s illegal. And he could’ve easily done it in one of the large fields that he drove through chasing the motherfucker instead of in front of a bunch of bystanders. He doesn’t deserve an award he deserves to be fired. Because imagine if one of those cars did hit a group of people. You have bodies, children’s bodies on your hands. You have to think of the consequences of everything. anything could happen, what if he didn’t hit that tree after that pit? you never know what can happen in those situations and it’s always best to take the safest route. The officers can’t control him either way. but they can still control themselves

Loved my crown vic. Local dealer installed stage 3 kit in my interceptor as they knew I worked speed limit enforcement, ( not a small problem in Arkansas ), and the dealership was very supportive. My grey ghost was almost ridiculously quick off the line, had incredibly high top end and still room for 3, same sex and age group perps. I loved my assigned unit, #55, as she was fast, handled well, and was still good at the gas pump. Closest thing to a faithful woman I've ever known. But, I'll admit my taste in cars is good but in women, not so much.

@@rileyh.4554 Something they installed at Dealerships on Police cruisers or interceptors to make them a bit quicker, faster and sometimes both, (This was back in the early 90's). Though the Georgia State Mustangs could still dust us as they were Supercharged, I still loved my Silver unmarked Crown Vic. It was a bit unwieldy in the twistys as it had understeering issues at speed, especially when there was red clay or ice on the asphalt.

Love watching these videos, Looking to get a new Crown Victoria shortly (Hopefully a 2011) owned a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria that was retired from a Sheriff's Department up here in Michigan. Paid $500 for it and it had over +200k miles on it and not once in the year I owned it did I have a problem that came after purchase (Steering gearbox was all sorts of ****** up, so had to change it when I bought it) Thing felt and handled like a beauty, and best part was cruising fast lane on the highway set at about 85 MPH watching everyone move out of my way, and slow down. Or when I felt like getting a really good laugh, slowing down 5 below the speed limit and watching the cars form a line behind me. Really great stuff, best $500 I ever spent.

Long story short......the dogs had been terrorizing cars and neighbors for a long time. The police were finally able to do something about it by getting all that on tape. In the full video the officer in the filming car tells the other one to pull in front of him so he can get it all on tape.

The Crown has been a part of LE for many many years. It has proven itself over and over to be one of the most reliable cars that has even been driven by LE. They seem to run forever. Big, heavy, and fast. Here in Ga the GSP ran the mustang chase cars for a while, but the crown was the workhorse. Hated to see them quit being produced. They definitely still outlast the chargers and the impalas. FORD------Drive one!!

The Crown Vic P71 is a legend, but the 1 thing it lacked that the 5.7 Charger has is horsepower. Crown Vics have a top speed of around 120mph and have much slower acceleration time, while the 5.7 Charger is an easy 140mph car. I've seen plenty of dashcam videos of Crown Vics not able to keep up with suspects, which is when the Hemi is needed. If only Ford had made a supercharged version of the stock Crown Vic engine specially meant for just the P71. I could just imagine legendary big block police interceptors chasing down a P71. Think about the Matador 401 and Monaco 440 vs a P71.

As a truck driver, I soon learned to look out for that long-oval tail light that the Charger has. It has become the default replacement for the Crown Vic. Great choice, though the Crown Vic will always be an icon.

They did. Sorta. The '03-'04 Mercury Marauder. Mechanically a P71 with a supercharger. Took the P71 spec engine from 250hp to 335. In fact, the '04 and later P71s incorporated a few Marauder parts (like air intake, MAF sensor, etc.) into their design. The issue, as I see it, with Dodge is, well, Dodge build quality. My department phased out the P71 for Chargers. They ran them one cycle and then went back to Ford in the form of the PIU. Their complaint with Dodge was not being able to handle the abuse that police vehicles take.

Those PIT videos are what the Crown Victoria is infamous for, as least to bad guys. The videos with the pitbulls, they sure are untamed. But that damage to the fender is an easy repair, since everything else of the car is completely fine. The last video, counted 55 Crown Vics in the line by time the video ends! Don't know what caused that to happen in 3:07, but that's still rather inexpensive repairs to the Crown Vic, after hitting THREE vehicles.
