My mom's TV!!!! So here's the deal for an experience close to arcade on time crisis: plugg a controller on port 2 to simulate the pedal used back in the days. Also my home record @time Crisis. No hit one life run. one shot one down style^^ Pedal tricks makes it visceral

I have my MiSTer connected to an old CRT and I use it way more often than my PS4. It feels completely like the real deal. Its also really interesting to compare the latency of a LCD display to a CRT with 240p Suite.

I use a few B&O in my setup. Got a grey Beovision 1 25", a truly beautiful Bronze Beovision AV5 25" & 2x Beovision MX4000 20". Only issue is the glass screen can cause some problems with light guns around the screen edge

That tv is beautiful. Plug a standard first generation ps1(not the analogue type) controller in port 2 on time crisis and you can use it as a foot pedal like the arcade to take cover, all buttons on the controller respond. Take your shoes off, fluffy socks are a must... Lol.

I recently got a CRT again too, it is so much better than LCD or Plasma for retrogaming. 2D games may look alright on a flatscreen but early polygon games on the PSX or N64 look so bad on a flat screen while they look great on CRT. If you're from the generation that grew up without CRT but enjoy retro gaming, do yourself a favor and pick one up, they come really cheap, often free, you don't know what you're missing, cause a a camera can't capture the goodness that is CRT.

B&O CRTs are the best for older consoles and hook ups via Scart. I recently got this BeoVision 1 for free but I’m currently using 2 B&O MX8000 CRTs for retro gaming and it looks beautiful. I live in Denmark where people are either giving B&O CRTs for free or you can buy it extremely cheap.

If the rubbing compound effect bothers you, you could try to use WD-40 or a plastic rejuvenator for autos. They'll bring back some of the original glossy shine.

I used to have a top of the line Philips Matchline widescreen crt. (you could put it on 4:3 as well). But I ditched it for a Panasonic 50" (full hd 100hz) plasma. I never regretted this decision. It has 3 HDMI inputs, 2 rgb scart, component, s-video, and composite. And best of all, it plays every resolution. From 240p up to 1080p. And it looks stunning. Downside is power consumption...490 watts..

Agree, although I thought 42 inch is enough. You can hook up a serious amount of consoles on those plasma's, 3x SCART, VGA, 3xHDMI, RF, component, composite, so all from the Atari 2600 up to the PS5 is covered. I have sony Wide Gamut CCFL Bravia's which are also very nice for hooking up multiple consoles. Great model was the 46W5500 For light guns, just get a 14 inch Trinitron next to it.

Great CRT from 2000 to 2006, with the beo1 remote, if original remote then should be before 2002. B&O always have great designs, love it.

I use a Toshiba most of the time. The colors are so much more vivid than my new big flatscreens and I dont have to mess around with aspect ratio. Sound is excellent. I play Atari, Nes, SNes and N64 on it ...all original systems. I DO use a multicart on NES just to keep clutter down. CRT tvs are thrown away, given away or get one at junk shop cheap. I have 3 from family over the years.

I had that telly, along with the MX8000, MX4000, MX4002. I love B&O sets but I had to part with them as they take up too much space, especially this one and the 8000. Love the rotating stand, and cinema curtain opening effects as you turn it on. They certainly are quality, and one of the sets I got off a friend paid about £6k for it back in the day, they weren't cheap. I had the Beo4 remotes too, very nice feel as you say with the metal, those have the screen too and those fetched a fair price when sold them. Now I just have a couple of smaller Trinitrons. But CRT are the best for these old systems no doubt about it. A very nice set you got there to game on 👍

My current bedroom TV is a flat screen CRT 20" Toshiba TV/VCR/DVD player combo. It has a "monitor out" port so feeding out the TV's picture to my capture card is no problem. The DVD player functionality doesn't work, so I have to rely on an Xbox console to play DVD video.

Please tell me you know how to calibrate the geometry/alignment in the service menu!? Mine, that I recently picked up second hand, has some alignment issues and convergence issues, and whilst it looks pretty good in movies, you can tell it's out on games. The service manual does instruct in what order to change things, but it's too basic in detail. Doing these adjustments is more like an art. By the way, have you tried pure Isopropyl alcohol to remove the rubber coating? I've just bought some but have not had time to test yet.

It's no use. I've tried. Hooking up non-HDMI console on modern TV results in bloody awful image. If someone wants to really play their pre-seventh gen consoles the way that they're meant to look, CRT TV is an essential. Edit: Ask me how heavy and big is 37" CRT TV! :-(

great picture of the crt... when the crt is aligned good, the picture of these older game machines are better than on tft. Also like on the Pinball2000 Machines, which came with crt, it is better not to built in a tft. And i see a gottlieb bone busters pinball machine in the end of your new video, nice!

I picked one of these up for £50 a couple of years ago loved it until I played ps2/GC/XBOX games at 60hz. It had this horrible flicker in the top right corner that constantly drew your attention. All 50hz games were amazing though. Do you find this issue? It might have just been a bad cap on my set, in which case I’d probably look out for another one. I picked up an MX8000 instead in the end.

Combination what scart you connect it. For me I use SAT button to get in the right signal. Otherwise you need to get into the B&O menu and config your tv input modes. Search on KZbin how to get in the menu of your MX8000 and also depends what remote you have.

So... do you like it? I honestly didn't hear you say one way or the other. I mean, sure, it's "authentic," but sometimes our memories are better than the real thing (looking at the jaggies on the PS1 logo, for example, made me appreciate modern upscaling, even if it's not 100% accurate to the time). Plus, these things are dang heavy... I remember having a Sony Trinitron back in the day that was nearly 300 lbs.!

I used a BenQ LCD monitor for a short while, and the BenQ I tested lacked 240p signal support for HDMI inputs. However, a different BenQ can take 240p over HDMI.

I did some looking on Ebay.com when I realize B&O is a brand they sell a lot in Europe and outside. Only I think US and maybe some other places they never seen this brand. Look it up because really interesting products. Some are cheap and are SuperB quality even when it's 10+ years old.
