The Max version has more OC headroom, but the normal ones are also awesome! My kit (old Ballistix Sport 3000MHz) are able to run at 3600MHz cl 16-18-18-34 at 1,36 volts. Thank you for your review, will enjoy it. ^^

@@TechLegend-com yeah, that's true. I am also very happy with my ram kit, it does not seem to make any difference in OC results if you got the old or the new one, except the Max version which is selected.

@@ronnie3626 As long as it works and it is affordable, it should be worth your time. Overclocking is not done on a daily basis, and the gains are sometimes minuscule.

Mine are at 3733 14-18-14-14-34 My 3600XT just wont do FCLK 1900 for 3800. Bought ready for a 5000 series upgrade, hoping for 2000/4000

Those are good timings for that frequency. I bet the performance is better than the regular timings at 4000MHz.

Yes, and that will yield the best performance overall, but it is time consuming and no two RAM kits will perform the same.

If you could provide more datapoints, it would be very informative! Besides, i was also wondering what CL can be achieved by lowering the frequency to 3800mhz, as zen 3 infinity fabric is limited at 1900 currently. I couldn't find much information about this new die except for a video from Buildzoid. Presumably this single rank stick should overclock better than dual rank sticks, and I'm curious if it can beat trident neo 3800 c14 2*16GB which are a dual rank sticks. @@MagicSwordYT At 3800MHz, I believe that the timings can be as low as 14-18-13-28, but again, depends on the kit. I was able to get it to 14-19-14-28 for some reason.

Maybe your kit is not capable of a high oc result because the 16gb sticks are dual ranked? Would be nice if you have tried getting the best latencies at 3600-3800MHz because it is the optimum for Ryzen 3000. :)

There are a lot of variables that need to be taken into account when overclocking, especially on these kits which are already running pretty high form the factory. I consider it a good overclock because the factory timings were left untouched.

This are a single rank memory modules. Micron memory chips (in this kit) are maxed at frequency/tRCD = 221, for higher memory frequency timings must be loosened (like 4400 19-20-20-41 or 4800 21-23-23-47)

@@S3ThOt Get the cheaper kit. If you don't need the 4000MHz frequency it's not worth paying more. If you want a little bit more performance then the G.Skill is better, but that is a choice for you to make.

Depends on the system, usually the XMP timings are alright for daily usage and gaming.

@@SirQuacksalotthe1st If you want to push the limit, you will have to do it gradually. Each RAM kit is different, just start with the XMP frequency and lower the timings.

If the G.Skill is at the same price, then you can get the G.Skill. However, if the Ballistix are cheaper, then get these, they're really good.

I would go for the 4000MHz CL18, because you can always downclock it to 3600MHz and CL16. It's better flexibility for you.

Because I do not have a Ryzen system. No offence to you personally, but why do I have to explain this on every single video. I have just one system and that so happens to use a 9900K. I do not have X, Y, Z components available at any given time. I work with what I have and that's how the world works. Also, most people use adblockers... just sayin.

@@kendragon2827 No it wasn't, it was designed for both platforms. Is this particular kit certified to work on Ryzen? Yes it is, but that doesn't make it bad or unusable on Intel platforms.
