Mark Immelman, golf broadcaster, interviews Founder and Owner of "Elite Golf Schools" in Arizona and Colorado - Riley Andrews
______________________
ABOUT THE EPISODE: Riley Andrews is the Founder and Owner of "Elite Golf Schools" in Arizona and Colorado. A former Tour Professional, Riley earned one professional victory before turning to golf instruction and player development. He has an extensive background in sports psychology, muscle dynamics, and biomechanics, and he blends this knowledge with his playing experience to help golfers achieve their best and attain their goals. He joins #OntheMark to share his take on golf swing methods and how certain elements must match-up for effective and efficient golf swings.
He discusses and contrasts Hip Extension Tilters (Early Extenders) and Hip Flexion Rotaters and highlights the advantages and disadvantages of each golf swing approach. Riley illustrates PGA TOUR examples of each style of swing and explains the overall spectrum of how each operates in order to produce quality golf shots.
He also talks about transferring the golf swing work to the golf course and shares on-course principles for better scoring. Riley also shares his opinion on how to develop longevity in the game, golf fitness training, the mental approach, goal-setting and playing intentionally vs "free-wheeling."
Whether you hip-extend or rotate, Riley will help you find your best inside your range with his insights and drills.

Great podcast! Thanks for having on Riley. The question I would have is this: if you are on one end of the swing spectrum, and you try to move towards the other end, don’t you run the risk of blending the two patterns that would lead to all sorts of problems? Don’t you have to stay in your spectrum to have the proper match-ups to hit it consistently? As soon as you move more towards the other spectrum, don’t you lose your match-ups?

Great point. I think this has happened to me.

What a great question! And yes, you do run that risk. That is why it is vital to understand the match-ups/forces that will be created with modified movement or modified sequencing. Can absolutely move through the spectrum, but you better have a good filter if you're going to do so!

Nicklaus and Trevino early extender and swinging vs tilting and rotation pulling. If you use your arms like Nicklaus and develop that high hands swinging how do you get less extension and still have arm motions - vs bending over and rotation as a fix?
@elitegolfschools
@elitegolfschools 6 ай бұрын
I would argue that Nicklaus' high finish is more a product of where the arms must go because of body action. Whether he is feeling a certain body movement or he is actively looking to send the arms high... kind of a chicken or the egg conversation... However with rotators like Trevino, you won't see that high finish. The forces that are created generally don't allow it.

@@elitegolfschools thanks for responding-grew up in Nicklaus era and never had access to detailed information as available now. Lots of motion to control back then feet lateral and hands moving up. Enjoy your data and insights

curious. this guy riley believed he had the ability to be a pga tour player. he spent years trying to compete professionally and could not compete at an elite level. he now has the formula to guide those who are attempting play at an elite level. what’s the frequency, kenneth?
