The way I’ve heard it described is, the devs of this game spent a ton of time and effort refining every possible aspect of the game, and then twice as much time and effort making it look like they didn’t.

Cruelty Squad's developers show a deep understanding of the various standards and norms of visual and game design, by deliberately doing the exact opposite of what those standards dictate. It's a great game, underneath that, though. Assuming your retinas survive it for more than an hour at a time.

I usually watch Max0r videos twice, once usually right after I wake up (his uploads are at around 6-7am for me), then another rewatch again when I'm mentally aware and capable of comprehending maybe 7% more of the sensory overload that is his editing. This one I haven't rewatched, I dont think there's more to grasp from a clear mind (I'll probably rewatch it after this video tbh)

I think what not a lot of people talk about when it comes to low poly horror games is how the limited style actually makes you fill in the blanks in your head, making it more creepy in my opinion.

The CURSED trilogy really likes to emphazise this. The first game had less detail, but that alone made the horror elements so much more disturbing for a short game. The second game had extremely tricky jumpscares that could come at the worst time due to the game hiding all the insta-kills secretly, one of which is sticking double A batteries in a doll. The third game takes this even more, having bosses that were basically insta-kills and having to actually manage stamina and items much more.

In a world where everyone is immortal can you really be an assassin? I like to think here you are just hired entertainment. Then again if you can't afford decent revival then you might become one of those melted face slaves on the cruise ship. The lore in this one runs deep, and max0r barely skimmed it. I would like to point out that this game plays like a FPS game, and even have some slow stealth parts if you want. Max0r's editing makes it seem a hundred times more hectic than it is. With about 50 guns, a bunch of upgrades, and solid gunplay this game is a treat.

I don't know if it was because I originally watched this video during my study time in which I was under the overclocking effect or Ritalin or maybe because I have ASD and ADHD, but it wasn't that confusing, and I never played this game, some games with pretty graphics and beautiful super complex UI like CK2 confuse me much much more, and I played that one for more than a hundred hours (I know, rookie numbers)

Next video of Maxor should be the part 4 of Elden Ring next year. He had to cancel Armored Core 6 for some reasons as a side note. Update: Around the time he uploaded this video, Maxor made a poll about what video he should do next on Twitter. Three games were presented: Baldur's Gate 3,Remnant II and From The Depths. Baldur's Gate 3 won the pole by a huge gap. So Elden Ring Part 4 is gonna have to wait a bit more. Possible during mid 2024 or something.

Yeah checked back they're by Ninfreak, he has a playlist set for "reloading is art" they're all a neat watch to build on, feels its very up your alley since its kind of something like Ahoy with a bit less visuals and slightly more decent personnal expertise on things (Since ahoy feels more like a stylish wikipedia article that does get certain details wrong or perpetuate common ideas because it sounds neat, not to diss his content I do love it, it just feels more like a springboard to touch interest to delve further)
