Here are a few fun facts for you: Lore-wise, Coil-heads aren’t like Weeping Angels in the sense that they physically cannot move whilst being observed, but instead, it’s a behavioural characteristic. This means that they _could_ kill you at any point, but instead actively choose to fuck with you. Also, when that blob, the Hygrodere, kills a player, it consumes their body but leaves the suit intact. The reason I mention this is the fact that you can still grab the suit as if it were a normal corpse, take it back to The Company Building and sell it for the same amount as if the corpse were still in it. This inadvertently tells us that it isn’t the Employees that are worth five bucks, but the suits. We’re worth absolutely zilch to the Company, which is much darker, but also funnier.

41:19 The proper terminology for this is known as the "bystander effect". Where when something happens in a location filled with a lot of people. A person won't take action because they just assume somebody else will do it. But then that same effect applies to everyone where they think somebody else will do it and it leads to a situation where no one does it. It's actually a leading contributor to a lot of accidental or even preventable deaths.

I like to imagine that Activision board meeting going along the malding lines of “One furry made that game in a cave! With a box of scraps!”. And that brings me much joy. Still, imo that line still applies when compared to the bajillions of moolah Activision spent on CoD just to get outsold by an incredible indie game that only cost $10!

29:18 As a DnD player who plays with a large varied group, I can confirm that there is the Min-Max player, for example I have a friend who leans towards characters with extreme stats, to the point where they cannot roll below a 22 for deception, (+12 in deception, plus modifier that makes rolls below 10 set to 10) meanwhile we have one of my characters who is named unprotected left turn, or “left” for short, who translates the most important information into abyssal. And also is a sage and a character who is intrinsically linked to the story. We also have a character called Paladad, in which his player juggles up to 4 characters at once. We have a character that changes looks, stats, and personality based on an occasional roll of a D4, we have new players with more basic characters and old players who have overly complicated characters. There’s the campaign mate who tries to tame every animal, I ended up with a goose with a turtle shell named Doodle. There is always someone who does stupid things for the fun of it.

Badger stands by basically all of his sponsors, because yes, there are a few one-off sponsors like raid, (that one credit card sponsor on the battlefront vid), etc. but those are few and far between, because he actually plays the games he advertises, he uses the products he pushes, i.e. gamersupps, warthunder, world of tanks, world of warships, etc. it also helps that he doesn't create a false scarcity trick like most KZbinrs you see that launch merc. He makes sure you know there will be a delay but it's to make sure you get what you want and not have to rush past hundreds of thousands of people.

The ONLY complaint I have with Lethal Company is that it doesn't adjust for playing with less than four players. My girlfriend and I usually play just as a duo because our friends can only join us so often, and playing it vanilla in a pair is so much more difficult to make quota. We started playing modded with some QoL changes to adjust it and now whenever we play vanilla with our friends it's so hard to go back to it. The dedicated flashlight and walkie slots, the jump delay fix, showing the clock inside the building, just things to make us more efficient without actually breaking the balance of player vs environment. It would be nice to see universal session settings, like what Palworld has for servers. Launching up, you can adjust the world settings to have the play experience you want within the game's own capacities, and they can be adjusted every time you launch. Playing alone? Scrap is worth double and shop prices are 25% reduced. Know you're gonna be playing with a few friends this time? Reset it to default. Wanna fuck with your friends? Triple the hostile spawns. But even without this, it's still an absolutely fantastic game and every time I go back to it I'm reminded of how easy it is to just lose hours and hours at a time to it. And just to balance a complaint with a compliment, I love that this game has an arachnophobia setting. It doesn't remove the spiders like I thought it would, but it DOES replace them with big red bold letters like a GMOD error message. Being chased down a hallway by a floating "S P I D E R" is a surreal experience 🤣
