Good decision. I've been by the pool where explicit music was being played. When I asked them to switch it to family friendly, kids were everywhere, I was told it's their vacation. While it is, it was mine too. If I don't listen to that music I don't want to hear it out loud on my vacation. You have rights until they infringe on someone else's.

The amount of obnoxiousness and classlessness needed to play explicit music in a public area filled with kids and adults who are not part of your party pretty much telegraphs the response any normal person will receive asking said challenged bipeds to ‘turn it down’ or be considerate espectful of others.

No CGMs for diabetics. Headphones for audible books. Not a nice change. I like to be in my cabin and have option to play audible books, music and or downloaded movies. Not being able to use CGM is a health issue for a lot of diabetics. 😡

We just got back on that transatlantic cruise on the odyssey. The turn was after the rough seas we had as captain was rerouting to pass a second front. Captain was very communicative about the first storm and after.

C - After Midnight. I like to take a stroll after the late shows and enjoy the peace and quiet of the ship while all others are either at the pubs or casino. If you are referring to the Odyssey's Transatlantic - we were on that baby. She was hit with some high waves for sure. Minor damage to some areas from falling liquor bottles from the shelves and things in the Windjammer but overall it was not too bad. You had to have some sea legs to get around. lol

C definitely BUT I also LOVE to get up at like 4:30am and wander the ship at least one morning. I LOVE seeing the ship so quiet. All the employees are always nicer and seem to be “looser” and less “professional”..? Last time I saw the LNP place being shut down and the crew was having SO much fun!! Dancing, singing just being themselves with their friends. I love it.

Im sorry but i agree with Carnival stance on Bluetooth speakers. Altho i respect that others may not wanna listen to what im listening to and i would very much b considerate of others, in this world we now live in very few would do the same. Many people think they have a right regardless to who is amongst them to do as they please. So i agree with the ban and just as John said the speaker on my phone is good enough when im in my cabin. In fact i sometimes wonder if that is too loud.

I agree loud music should never be allowed. You can play loud music on kindles, laptops, phones, etc…. So I don’t think can be enforced unless you disturbing someone. I hate going to beach though and I can’t hear the surf as an idiot who could have parked further away, parks next to Me. Gets his beer out and blasts his music!

Sadly,I haven't been on a cruise since the mid 1980s, when I was a travel agent, hopefully I can talk my hubby into doing one this fall for our 25th anniversary. Have a blessed New Year!

I agree with Carnival’s no speaker policy. I’ve seen MANY in the past walking on the lido deck playing their music and didn’t care for it. I normally play mine low in the cabin while waiting for others to get ready. We just got off of the Firenze and they confiscated mine as I wasn’t aware of the new policy.. I got it back on the last night. The funny thing is that they were selling small Bluetooth speakers in their shop on board.

While I have no problem with the ban of the speakers, I do find it funny that Carnival states for safety reasons. Passengers need to hear the announcements over the loudspeakers, but yet can wear ear pods, that block out the same announcements over the loudspeakers.

Knowing that dogs may have been in my cabin and throughout the ship is a huge turn-off for me. I'm sure dog people won't mind though. I hope this practice does not spread to other cruise lines.

Hi Debbie! Yeah, I think there will be a very split view on this. It is sort of like the variety of hotels that exist with some being "pet friendly" and others not allowing them. I have nothing against dogs (we have one...) but I personally prefer staying in a room that has been kept pet free. I agree with you. Have a great day!

@@TheTravelScouts I recently checked into an airport hotel that I (used to) frequent and was shocked to find myself sharing the check-in line with three people with 4 dogs between them (including a pitbull). It used to be pet-free, but the new manager is a big dog-lover who brings her dog to work. I had prepaid online, non-refundable, so I stuck out out for that one night. I won't stay there again, though. Pet-free rooms are only on the top two floors, so you have to ride the only elevator with dogs, and they were in the breakfast room. Nope.

I mean I adore my dog and in my dream love to take my dog cruising on our fictional private yacht - the dog cruise sounds like a horrible idea. It doesn’t even sound fun, I am a dog lady and being stuck on a boat with 250 other dogs seems gross, and dangerous, anxiety provoking - it sounds like a bad idea to me.

Speaker ban: if it's to enable all messages to be heard, stating headphones are to be used seems contradictory. We use white noise with a small speaker exclusively in our cabin and to ban this will cause sleepless nights. It is a shame that some people are so inconsiderate of others, and on-board security cannot or will not manage the perpetrators, resulting has in a blanket ban for all. G & M Australia.

B, currently on Enchanted Princess dock at St Kitts beside the Explorer of the Seas. Met people at Dania Beach hotel that told us they were going out a couple of days late. We hit rough seas on Carnival Pride in 2011 that caused us to come in a day late and next cruise went out 2 days late. We take all that goes on cruising in stride and feel blessed to be healthy enough and able to cruise 3-5 times per year since retirement in 2022

Generally I go to bed between 10pm and midnight. Only exception is when I want to chill after a show. I’ve sat on deck relaxing. Last year I ended up watching a lot of the British king’s coronation after a show till 1am. It was kinda relaxing.

I was on Odyssey for the transatlantic crossing where we encountered rough seas….. the course correction was due to the ship moving from waves behind the ship to correct to against the waves….. the captain kept us at the original course for as long as possible but in order to proceed to Bayonne the correction was needed. It was a bit rough for 2 days….. and the correction was a nonevent….. however the Captain kept the passengers and crew informed at all time during all of the rough seas….. it was a great cruise!!!!!!

I agree no blue tooth speakers!! I would avoid a dog cruise but I’m sure pet parents look forward to it. Hopefully the dogs can safely adapt to sudden rough seas. I’m curious how they would handle emergency needs to evacuate the ships. Life boats are Doggy Paddle…midnight salad bar would also be great
